Choice Wine & Beer

Who would think you could find a large variety of wine and beer in Wheaton Mall? Well, you can, and it’s right outside the mall entrance to Costco. (Inside the mall.)
The owner, Kirti works here and is very knowledgable about wine selections. He had two selections of Pinotage, my favorite red, and one was on sale.
Also, Choice has a nice selection of Baltimore’s DuClaw beers for about $ 9.99 a six pack.

I cannot say enough good things about this store.
Let’s start with the selection. The number of wines they carry is quite extensive considering the size of the business. They pack ‘em tight and stack ‘em high, so there is definitely something for everyone. If you can’t walk out with a bottle of wine at this place, your taste in wine might need to be checked. They carry lots of it at most reasonable price points.
As for the beer, their selection started out small, but is constantly growing. This is definitely something I would like to see them focus on. They keep most of it in their fridges, which is great when looking for a beer to drink immediately, but I would love to see them carry a larger selection of more obscure craft beers. Note to the owners: you don’t have to keep all your beer cold!
The service here is top-​notch. One of the associates, Omar, is always enthusiastic and knowledgeable, and you’re always sure to be greeted with a smile.
Their prices are quite reasonable for the area, especially since the closer you get to the DC border, the more exorbitant the costs.
Last, their location couldn’t be better. We’re all upset that Costco doesn’t carry alcohol in Maryland. Fortunately, this place is literally across from the exit, and they allow people to bring in their shopping carts!
Four stars, since they’re still growing. If they improve that beer selection, they’ll be the best in the area.

Since my earlier review, I asked the manager (owner?) if they’d consider carrying one of the less common Dogfishhead beers (Festina Peche!), because I would LOVE to buy it if so. Next time I came in, there it was! Now I buy a case every time I visit, and I’m thrilled because it can be pretty much impossible to find.
I really appreciate how the staff pay close attention to what people are buying, what they’re looking for, etc., and tweak the selection in response to demand. They’re also super friendly and helpful. Choice is now my go-​to store.

Great product knowledge. A wonderful alternative to the county stores. The staff here taste and know every bottle of wine and sherry they sell.
Conveniently located right by Costco and Mayorga Coffee in Wheaton Mall. My «go to» place for wine and sherry. I really do trust their recommendations.

Great location, Choice Wine and Beer! If you want to get a few Costco pizzas for your friends on the weekend, you can stop here and get some beers as well. Now any mall trip is an excuse to grow your wine and/​or beer collection/​stash.
The staff was nice, the store is well organized and clean, and they have both chilled 6 packs and just shelved boxes as well.
I’ll have to come back to check out the wine selection fully, and maybe I’ll run into a wine tasting like I did last time.

My husband just had a great experience here. Very informed and helpful staff. We will be going back to buy our Thanksgiving wine!

Opened yesterday evening to the public on the eve of the new Costco opening in Westfield Wheaton. The owner, Kiri Patel already owns another business in the mall and will be expanding the wine selection. His desire is to have a clean, safe environment in Wheaton in which to shop for and purchase a nice bottle of wine ranging from $ 6 to $ 50.
The store will be open during mall hours: 10 a.m. — 9:30 p.m. from Monday to Saturday, and 11 a.m. — 7 p.m. on Sunday.
