Discovery Well Park

Very nice and clean with a safe place for kids to play on the playground equipment. Half court for basketball players to get their game on… however the hoop is double rimmed. A nice large grass area for you play catch, a friendly game of football, soccer, or to lay out some cones or a ladder for drills. Definitely a place to relax and enjoy the summer skies and breeze, embark on surrounding trails, or get your exercise on with the hills.

Love this park. Recently helped throw my godsons first birthday party here and it ran pretty smoothly. Depending on your party size parking might be hard to find… But it worked out for our large party guests, just some extra walking which never hurt anyone :)
CLEAN bathrooms and lots of open grass area and play space for kids.
Make sure you reserve your table with the City prior to party engagements. We were able to bring a bouncer and 5 tables w lots of chairs.

This place has become one of my favorite places to put in a good outdoor workout. There are hills everywhere for a good endurance run, stairs, trails, and workout stations where you can do pull ups, sit ups, push ups, squats, lunges and everything in between. Many fitness groups, meet up around the area for their training so it really motivates you to keep at it. Everybody ive ever run into while working out has been friendly. There’s a sense of camaraderie amongst everyone working on getting fit. Another big plus of course, are the views!
The playground, basketball, and handball areas are always clean. The picnic area is nicely shaded and well kept, and the restrooms are also well maintained.

SAND FREE PARK!!!
To all the parents out there you know a sand-​free park is the place to be! They have an old school merry-​go-​round, swings, and a small slide. There is plenty of grassy area to run around and play soccer or football!
The view is spectacular!!! You can see everything from up here! There is a good amount of parking and clean bathrooms along with a rec center.
There is a basketball court as well.

This is the other big park in Signal Hill. While Hilltop Park is visited more for the views, Discovery Well Park is visited more for outdoor activities. They have a playground, basketball court, and a big field for playing football, soccer, you name it. They also have a few tables and BBQ grills, and an activity room for classes. There is also a good view of Long Beach that you can not see from Hilltop Park, which is more of the North and East views of LB, which includes the airport and the CSULB pyramid. Also from here there is a trail that many visitors walk through that goes around the hill. I am still amazed how many people come here to walk as it is mostly a residential area but it is motivating to see people of all ages to come and enjoy the outdoors.
There is a small parking lot but there is plenty of street parking nearby, which I would recommend because the lot is small and tight.
Overall this is a great park that I like to frequent often. It is great for families and kids to do outdoor activities.
