I just finished eating here, it was not very good. Why can’t Long Beach have one decent Chinese food spot?

This place is always clean, fast and tasty. And the portions… The portions are HUGE! Way more than Panda Express. Good lunch spot for legit Chinese.

I’ve been eating fast Chinese-American food, heated under lamps in metal trays since I was in Jr. High. Back then it was $ 1 an item and they would pile it high!!! It was love at first bite. These days my cravings for it are far and few between, but when I do get a hankering it’s never hard to find a decent place to satisfy that craving… so I thought. This place was not good and pretty disappointing. Their fried rice was not fresh. It was definitely left overs from the other night. There were pieces of stale rice?!? WTF? SMH. It’s cheap fast food… make it right. Some of my chicken teriyaki pieces were rubbery and the sauce was not up to par. Their mushroom chicken was just okay, the veggies were overcooked and take a look at the pic, do you see any mushrooms? I got one small overcooked shroom, whacked. But on a positive note, the 2pc combo meal was under 7 bucks and they use real Sriracha.

First timer. I stopped by here for a quick to go lunch today after running into Costco to order a cake. I got a one-item combo with orange chicken, fried rice and chow mein and I picked up a bottle of Snapple Straight Up Tea. This was not delicious food. In fact, the manager must be embarrassed to serve this fried rice. It is absolutely without flavor. I had to drown it in soy sauce to render it edible. The orange chicken was very dry and very tough to chew and was the worst tasting orange chicken I have swallowed ever. The chow mein was a 3 on a 10 scale. Without a doubt I wasted my 8 bucks and without a doubt this is the one and only time I will eat at Chinese Combo. Hey, the Snapple was awesome! Don’t waste your time or money.

The restaurant is nice and clean with ample seating. The staff is friendly and courteous. Good portion sizes. Food taste typical from what you would expect from a Chinese Fast food(I like my MSG) The prices are comparable to the portion size as well as other Chinese Fast Food.

This place has to be the best Chinese fast food I ever and will go to. Mind you I do not like places like this let alone greasy food. I love the chicken and green beans, chicken curry, and of course their spicy chicken wings!!! You need to try their spicy chicken wings you will definitely thank me. Ask for extra sauce when I get the two combo I tell them to pour the spicy chicken wings sauce all over my chow mein and fried rice. I love everything spicy!

Was on my way to the darkside(Costco), decided to drop in for a quick meal. Very good chow mein and I am picky about my chow mein even at a fast food Chinese place. The food was really fresh and delicious. The staff was friendly and helpful.

Definitely not worth coming here unless for some reason you are low in time and high on taste tolerance and cash. Ordered what seemed to be about $ 3 worth of food and was charged as if I would’ve ordered a combo somewhere else… Not worth it. There is a Costco food court and a subway nearby. If you want chinese I prefere the place across the street next to the sprint.

Generous portions but mediocre food. I agree with previous reviewers… Gives you a newfound appreciation for Panda Express. Chow mein — pretty good. Probably the best thing here. Fried rice — flavorless. Most chicken entrees — gross. :(they taste like frozen chicken that’s been reheated. Same for the veggies. I would only revisit for the chow mein. Nothing else warrants a trip here.

This is my go to lunch spot, I admittedly come here 1 – 2 times a week. They give you SO much food that you can tell is freshly made. I never end up paying more than $ 8 for my meal. Huge portions for little money is the best way to go.

I drive by this place pretty much on a daily basis, so I thought I would check it out. It’s similar to a panda express. Food was not good, but it was cheap. Less in quality than panda express(which isn’t saying much). Also, my debit card racked up a bunch of random charges after using it at this location. If you want bad Chinese food, come here and use cash.

Its a motor oil, its a wood preserver, NO its a body lotion. what am i talking about? GREEEZYYYYY Chinese hot table food!!! If you are looking to get it on in a slippery way and i don’t mean sliding on the sheets of cocoa butter… check out this place. for only $ 5.95 you can get your choice of sweet hot or just savory types of grease with some kinds of meat and what looks like shoelaces. the obligatory menu of items you cant idenitfy are there as are your mom and pop employees. its just not LBG without this place.

Most of the reviews I read where right on point. Mediocre flavor and taste, chow main would rank 7 out of 10 and vegetables were over steamed. Gave me a new appreciation for Panda Express. Slightly above the line of average.

Quite good. I’ve been to a lot of random cheap Chinese takeout places, and I’d say this is… my *third* favorite. That’s not really as bad as it sounds, given that my favorite is a few hundred miles away, and my second favorite was about a thousand. You get a lot of food for 7 bucks, and it’s pretty tasty as far as cheap Chinese food goes(of particular note is their chicken curry). Definitely don’t ever go to Panda Express or other such chains, if you can possibly go here instead. When it comes to cheap fast-food Chinese in LB, Tasty Goody gives you the *most* food, but I’d say this place gives the *best* food(at least of the ones I’ve tried; I’m sure there are tons I haven’t.)

This is my go-to for«cheap Chinese.» I’ve eaten here about 25 times, and I’ve been consistently pleased. First and foremost, they do not use MSG, which is something that makes me really sick. Unlike my experiences with other Chinese or Thai places, I’ve never gotten sick after eating at Chinese Combo. My favorites are the jalapeño chicken, the garlic chicken and the teriyaki chicken. And, although it’s pretty standard, I really like their chow mein. And the portions are more generous than Panda Express. Also, the service has always been friendly… consistently. Consistency is something that is hard to find, especially nowadays. But I’ve found it here.

The food sucks. I had a lunch combo with white rice, BBQ pork and teriyaki chicken. No complaints about the rice, the pork was dry/overcooked and the chicken tasted like it Only had soy sauce on it. I went with a group of coworkers and they did not like the food either. I never would have tried this place if I had been alone because I could just tell by the sign that this place is a generic«Chinese»(Chinese American) restaurant. I’m not a racist but does the Latino(probably Mexican) man in the back really know how to cook Chinese(Chinese American) food? The place looks clean and the staff was friendly. There was no restroom; I went to the coffee shop next door.

This place hit the spot for our cravings. Not the best Chinese food that I have ever had but it did the trick. It filled our tummy’s and did not break the bank.

The lunch crew seems to have taken a hiatus this week but I still have to eat. Not feeling like going anywhere that I’ve been before, I decided to try Chinese Combo as I pass this every day on the way home from work. Parking is tough as it’s close to Costco and other restaurants that are probably filled with people having lunch, just like me. Luckily, there was a spot open somewhat in front of the place so I didn’t have to walk too far. It’s a cafeteria style serving line where the food is behind glass but under heat lamps. There’s a Combo special, Fried Rice and Chow Mein plus two entrees for $ 6. Not a bad price for how much food they put on your plate. I chose Sweet & Sour Chicken and Mushroom Chicken for my two choices. Don’t get the Sweet & Sour Chicken. No amount of salt, pepper or even Srichacha sauce seemed to help bring out the flavor. I guess if you like the syrupy consistency and something that isn’t spicy it’s for you. It’s definitely not for me. I should have went with my first instinct, but often times, it can be chalked up as another learning experience. The Mushroom dish wasn’t bad. I love mushrooms so unless the mushrooms haven’t been washed thoroughly or if they’re slimy and over cooked, I’ll eat them like they’re candy. The Chow Mein was more of an oily consistency. It’s a thinner noodle which isn’t my first preference but at least it was edible as well. Rice is rice. Hard to mess up rice and they didn’t in this case. Lunch came to $ 7 with a drink. Not bad for not bad food. Not bad as in not great either so don’t go expecting gourmet quality dishes.
