Chilli Verde was amazing and the soft homemade corn tortillas made the meal! Great service fair price… I’ll definitely be back.

This shop has been here for a little while now and for some reason I never tried it. Well last Saturday the wife and I gave it a shot. I had the wet Carne Asada burrito and she had a chimmie. Great food, much more food than you get at the historical other place in town. Oh and it had taste. The portions are so big I have just finished it after 3 meals. The town needs to rally around and keep this one.

Worst service ever — the waiter was really bad and he took too long with the food — he got our orders wrong and had to come back — he had this attitude like he hated his job — Once the food got to us the food was cold I mean really cold — the tacos are not worth the price — only thing I liked were the drinks even that the waiter got my friend’s drink wrong –I wouldn’t recommend this place at all over priced food — only good thing that came out was the oysters

I had to give this place 5 stars but I would like to give 10! The food is incredible and portions are large. I have been here several times with different people and know body walked away hungry or dis-satisfied. The prices are great especially if you go at lunch between 10am and 2pm and order from the lunch menu. This is a place I can take company and know they will be happy. It can get a little loud in the evening. It has a full bar. We only go for lunch.

Excellent! Staff was really friendly and helpful. Food was terrific. We ordered the shredded beef taco salad and the shredded beef chimichanga. Both were really good. The salsa was good and the guacamole was excellent. The Mexican rice was a bit bland, but other than that it was excellent. We will definitely be coming back!

Can’t be beat. The best Mexican restaurant in the area. Portions are extra large and the flood was terrific. Tacos are made with real corn and flour tortillas, not the shells you see you at Taco Bell. Very tasty and I will be there again soon!

Excellent salsa, friendly staff, huge lunch portions. I ordered the wet burrito(ugh, can’t they call it something else?). It was packed chock FULL of shredded beef. The meat was lean and tender but not seasoned enough. If the beef had more flavor, I would have easily given 5 stars. I really wanted the pozole but it’s served Saturday & Sunday only – I’ll be back. Someone ordered fajitas at another table – I felt the sting of order envy after the aroma hit me. Ahhhhh, like I said, I’ll be back.

The food is great, the service… could be better. I ordered delivery, yes they deliver! Unfortunately, I had to constantly repeat my order, credit card number, and address, only for the delivery guy to get lost and my order be incorrect(even though they read it back and confirmed it with me). The food was still amazing even though it took over an hour for them to deliver when the person tak in ng my order said 25 – 30 mins. I didn’t mind it coming later, just that the person taking my order said 25 – 30 mins, which seemed unrealistic in the first place. I will say that I got more than expected with the food. I didn’t expect chips and salsa, nor full sets of plastic eating utensils with PLENTY of napkins; incredibly useful!

Dined here for the first time. Dinner outside on the patio was a great option. The waiter was very friendly and had great conversation. The food was GREAT!!! Prices were reasonable and portion sizes enough for left overs. I ordered Shrimp Diablo and it was spicy and quite tasty. The salsa was great with an abundance of flavor. Everyone enjoyed their meals and service. The food options are vast and are categorized by seafood, salad, etc. there is a dinner menu from 6 – 9 with specials during that time frame all for $ 8.99 if looking for something with a great portion size but cheaper prices only difference I noticed with this menu is that it has more of the basic options whereas the regular menu has many exotic options such as octopus, cactus, and other options from under the sea. I would highly recommend this place. The outdoor tables that seats 4 people can get pretty crowded when the food comes out and for the beer drinkers there is no beer on tap and you must ask for a drink menu because the food menu does not list alcoholic beverages.

The food was ok. It was very Americanized Mexican food. I probably wouldn’t eat here again. The service wasn’t bad though.

My family had a great dinner here. Not only was the food great, the friendly customer service was even better! Chips & Salsa — Great Molcajete Mexicano — Never even heard of it before, but loved it. Carne asada, pollo asado, green onions, cheese, nopalito, and chorizo covering the perimeter of a huge mortar & pestle bowl and topped with a delicious roasted tomato/chile sauce. Yum! It came with tortillas, rice & beans, lettuce, and guacamole. I wouldn’t change a thing! Bacon Breakfast Burrito — My son loved it. Carne Asada Tacos — My husband thought they were decent. My son loved them and I thought the guacamole that they topped it with was some of the best I’ve had. The restaurant was clean, the prices were on-point, and the margaritas were good. The service was great… everyone was so friendly and helpful! If I lived in the area, I would come here all the time!

This place was alright for us. I think our waitress was new because she kept dropping everything and didnt know much about the menu, she also kept forgetting things and wasnt around our table much to bring us refills. Although when she was around it was good service. Too bad. The food is a BIG portion so make sure your hungery. I would recommend the tamales and the chicken enchiladas. Perfection right there! Chips and Salsa was alright, very weak, but im the type of person that perfers garlic hot salsa so what can i say. The place was clean and seemed to be not too loud. Its worth a shot!

My friends suggested this place for dinner today, and I am glad I came! The food was delicious(I had the carne asada wet burrito) and it was not greasy like the rest of the Mexican restaurants in town. Although the food was good, the main reason why I really wanted to write this review is really because of the service here! Our waitress was Alyssa/Alissa? She was extremely sweet and attentive to everything! We had two babies at our table, and not only did she make sure the plates served to the children were not hot to touch, but she also made sure that everything was set up(high chairs, offered cups with lids, etc). I just wanted to say thank you for such a wonderful dining experience and extreme attentiveness shown by the staff to the children from both our server and greeter of the restaurant!

One of the newer restaurants in town, Taco Giro is probably the best tex-mex you’ll find in Sierra Vista. The food quality is pretty good. They use quality ingredients in their food and the food comes out pretty quick. Their chips are good and the salsa has nice flavor, if its a little too watery for my taste. Their simple 3 hard taco plate is a surprising amount of food. I recommend getting the tacos on a separate plate from the beans and rice to avoid the soggy factor. But they really load up the plates. Their margaritas are ok(it wont knock you on your ass but they taste good). Patio is nice when the weather is good. Service tends to be a little on the slow side unfortunately and their bar service is pretty poor(just get a table, you will be better of that way). All in all, Taco Giro is normally an enjoyable experience but can be on the slow side when it gets busy.

2nd attempt at trying Taco Giro; 1st attempt we walked out after waiting over ten minutes — and no offer of service. This trip wasn’t a bust, however WE had to ask for our waiter after five minutes! **Manager — hint, hint… You have numerous waiters working; they can all learn to pitch in for«initial offering of drinks/chips» prior to assigned waiter arrives! Back to 2nd attempt: after asking for waiter and ordering drinks, WE had to remind him of our drink order after another five minutes… He forgot! So, with him at our table… We ordered quickly! Pros; food came out quick, and hot! Portion size was a surprise, nice and abundant; chips and salsa — very good; ceviche was very good — no complaints; fajitas — good, but somewhat not impressed with«liquid» seasoning — it was overkill with way too much, drenching everything. Cons; fajita side plate was bland and slopped on plate(rice and beans… Ugh); ALERT — if you should ask for a side of sour cream and cheese… Be aware of the very high costs($ 3.25 and $ 2.99!!!)!!! For sides. Bring your own in! Overall — most likely won’t come back unless I want a good cerviche. I’d love to give more stars but come on… Service!

Went and tried again. It was Saturday evening and the wait staff was much better. Very attentive. Impressed with this place. It’s nice to have a place that has such a variety to choose from. Mexican food, steak, burgers, or breakfast. Can’t wait to try many more different items!

My husband says they served him the best carne asada he’s ever had in his life. His entire life! We’re talking, like, four decades of life. And, me? Well, I thought it was pretty great, too. (Also, pretty sure this place effectively sounds the death knell for a certain other local Mexican restaurant… that one in the cursed location… but I digress…)

Well, as it has been said, «Third time is a charm.» It may have taken three different iterations of Mexican food restaurants to come and go at this location since it was built, but I believe we now have a combination of elements that will make this location a success. This time, Taco Giro has made all the correct choices. Utilizing one of the very few outside dining patios in the area, Taco Giro was wise in ensuring that a full bar is available to its patrons. Offering a nice selection of beer, wine, cocktails, hot drinks, cold drinks, soft drinks, aguas frescas(horchata, tamarind, limonada), shakes, fresh squeezed OJ and perhaps the best pitcher of Margaritas that I have ever had, there is something sure to quench and please anyone. There is a large menu that is a perfect mix of classic Mexican food offerings, regional Mexican food offerings, such as seafood and fish, and classic American fare. Some exciting things on the menu to consider: Molcajetes, which are grilled meats and/or seafood served atop a hot stone along with rice and beans; Caldos(Mexican style soup) with fish, shrimp, octopus or up to seven different types of seafood; Morjarra Frita(whole fried tilapia); Molcajete Guacamole, fresh guacamole prepared table side; Cheriqueso and Guacamole(melting, oozing Mexican white cheeses topped with spicy chorizo and served with fresh guacamole and homemade tortillas); Chilaquiles(corn tortillas sautéed in tomato sauce with cheese, eggs, beans, sour cream and guacamole) or the smothered Spanish Omelet. The ambiance is what one would expect of a Mexican Grill restaurant, which is to say that it has a casual and laidback atmosphere, proper Latin décor, has a prompt and friendly wait staff, serves fresh and hot food that comes quickly from the kitchen, and an appropriate volume and style of background music to keep your conversations among your table and other diner’s conversations to their tables. The servers have all been knowledgeable, friendly and prompt with service and suggestions on every visit; there have even been other servers and bussers that have stopped to ensure that the chips and salsa were full, water was topped off and plates promptly removed. On every visit, the food has been freshly prepared, seasoned appropriately and served at the proper temperature. Particular favorites are the seafood offerings, steak combos, and the Queso Fundido. I am looking forward to exploring the extensive menu and sampling other offerings, especially the Nuevos Platillos section on future visits. I would recommend Taco Giro to: anyone who is craving traditional Mexican food(think combination plate); fish and seafood lovers wanting to spice things up; families, picky eaters or groups with a wide taste range(remember they have hamburgers, chef salads, club sandwiches, pancakes and chicken nuggets); or anyone wanting to have a social outing of tasty beverages and snacks in the fresh air on the patio. Plus, they serve breakfast all day so if you really want French Toast and a Horchata at 9:30 at night, you’re covered. And, by the way, they are open at 7:00am every day and close at 10:00pm every day — where else in Sierra Vista can you get those hours with a food and beverage menu like this and your choice of indoor or outdoor dining? I have said before in previous reviews of other restaurants that have occupied this location, and were lacking one or more necessary elements to be successful, that the addition of a full bar, music on the patio, sit down service with wait staff, an experienced restaurant owner with proven recipes, a diverse menu without loosing a sense of identity, and the wisdom to know that every restaurant does not need a drive-thru(even in a town that thrives on, and arguably invented the pick-up window) would be a successful here. This time, I think the planets have aligned and are shining brightly on this part of Fry Boulevard. There are several things that Taco Giro has done correctly and it started with ditching the drive-thru, focusing on fresh, tasty authentic food, fully utilizing the patio area, having a full bar with authentic beverage offerings and bringing previous experience of multiple restaurants to this location. Don’t let the name fool you, this is not a quick service restaurant that has just tacos, tamales, burritos and enchiladas; Taco Giro has all this and so much more. You deserve to go and sample something off each page of their menu. .. often. My ratings are right on the edge so I am giving 5 stars and will update if anything changes.
