We enjoyed their sushi so much that we returned the next evening! We couldn’t remember what our now-absent son in law had ordered for the girls the previous evening, so were delighted that Andy(our waiter both evenings) did — even down to which type of soup each person had previously ordered. Will be certain to stop in if we’re ever back in Sierra Vista.

Highly disappointed, I ordered a vegetarian hibachi(for $ 12) and hot green tea, expecting it to be a decent amount of veggies and some nice warm green tea. I received a tea pot full of barely/multigrain RICE hot water. The chef was nice but mind I remind you, I order a $ 12 meal with high hopes that it will be plenty. I got about ½ cup of veggies… It barely filled up a quarter of my plate… Not to mention my hot«green tea» rice water. I love tea, I know when you’re trying to fake tea.

This review is based solely on the fish. Good quality fish, but portions not as generous as other sushi bars I’ve been to. Sake not as hot either.

Horrendous customer service while the food is ok. I came here with a group of friends and it took over 15 minutes just to be acknowledged. That does not include the wait for the initial round of drinks. After ordering and receiving most of our food in an untimely fashion, one of my buddies did not receive his food. It took multiple reminders to the wait staff in order to get his food out to him. By this time we were practically finished eating. To sum it up, they were not willing to comp him for the blatant disregard for service. Its not worth the hassle to come here again. I’m not one to complain even if I get sub-par service, but the unwillingness of the establishment to admit that a mistake was made is unacceptable.

Some time back, came here with family– I ordered soba, was given udon, asked to have soba– was given same dish with soba added, now lukewarm. All of our miso soups were tepid, not even warm. asked for replacements, got same tepid temp. none of us ate our food as it was unsafe. Waitstaff was rude also. It was very embarrassing to go with out of town family members who are used to good restaurants with good service to such a substandard establishment. Next visit from CA my family members went to Tanuki’s. Highly pleased with Tanuki’s quality both food and waitstaff.

HORRIBLE customer service! I started eating here 4 years ago and never had a major issue until a year and a half ago when I received an order which reeked of rotten fish. I returned to the restaurant and spoke with the owners who insisted the foul smell of my dish was not the fish but the relish(garnishments). After a lengthy back and forth my money was reluctantly returned to me and only because I spend a lot of money here($ 90 a meal and we used to eat here at least once a week). We started ordering all our food without relish from that day forward. Tonight we ordered for carry out(2 sashimi dinners and 3 different rolls without relish) and were given a ready time of 20 minutes. Half an hour later we arrive to pick up our food but our order is wrong. I tell the kid behind the counter to get it fixed and return ten minutes later. He let our ready items set out and didn’t bother to start completing our order. I tell him to get me his boss to which he replies«No, I’m not going to do that because we are too busy.» Another customer waiting in line tells the kid«I’d get your boss bud, it’s the right thing to do.» A few minutes later one of the owners show up. I explain the issue and she says she’ll fix it right away. Ten more minutes later my order is ready but they want to charge me full price after wasting 20 minutes of my time. I tell the kid to get his boss again and he says«No, I know who you are. You’re the guy who complained about the relish awhile back. I’m not getting my boss.» So I tell him I am willing to leave without my $ 80 order if he has that little concern for my time and patronage. His boss shows up and I explain the same to her. She says«If you want to go, go. I don’t care. I know you spend a lot of money here but we don’t care. Full price or leave.» So I left. Strike two. Rotten garnishments from containers that are allowed to spoil and horrible customer service and appreciation. We will take our business to Maggie at Tanuki’s up the road. Always great hospitality there and our patronage is appreciated.

Wish they were a bit friendlier… still, I don’t know why we don’t come here more often. The service is excellent. The food is pretty good. The crowd is so nice and friendly. It’s always best and clean. We leave with a big smile. I won’t take so long in visiting next time.

They have the best Angry Dragon Roll EVER!!! Nothing in this roll is raw. The combination of pilled high crab meat with the spicy/sweet eel sauce is to die for!

This is the best spot for sushi in SV. Waitstaff are friendly. Reasonable prices. Food comes out quick, good presentation. I’ve never had a bad meal here.

Always great! The Hibachi is a great show and the food is delicious. The swordfish is one of my favorites, it is just so good. The sushi is on the same level as these other sushi place in town. Overall, I have no complaints and enjoy myself every time I go.

Just went here tonight for the first time and I’m so glad I did! The staff was super friendly, there was no wait, and the food was just really, really good. My husband had the surf and turf hibachi dinner — yum! I had the Angry Dragon Roll(recommended by the staff) and the Scorpion Roll — both were fantastic! I also ordered edamame and it came out hot and fresh. I wish I had taken pictures but I was too busy chowing down. Side note: it is a little pricy, but totally worth it(promise)!

This place is very consistent. I come here often so they know what I like and will let me know if the have uni. They always have plenty of waitresses on staff whether for lunch or dinner. I have never been disappointed with the food. I always had a great tasting meal. Both Sushi places in town are competitive in price. However, Hana Tokyo offers hibachi. The place is always clean. The staff is warm and friendly. I guarantee that you will have a good experience.

There are only two sushi restaurants here in Sierra Vista. This is the better of the two in my opinion mainly because of cost and freshness IMO. Lunch time offers great lunch-time specials particularly the bento box. For a decent price you’ll be able to have a very satisfying lunch while being able to sample a variety of items off the menu(through the various bento box combos). Hana Tokyo also has the Benihana style Hibachi where guests sit around an open grill and a chef treats you to a dinner and show. It’s a very exciting experience if you haven’t seen one before. The dinner combo that comes with it is very reasonably-priced and tastes wonderful. The sushi here is fresh. I LOVE salmon, yellowtail, and mackeral and Hana Tokyo has picked out the right supplier. The flavors of the fish are very tasty and clean. COST: 4⁄5 Expect the price to be a little higher than usual but hey it’s because it’s Sushi AND because it’s down here in Sierra Vista. SERVICE: 5⁄5 The staff and chefs are very personable and genuinely care for their patrons. DECOR/AMBIANCE: 5⁄5 Very clean and quiet. Lighting is nominal and seating is plentiful. They have private«booths» or rooms available for more intimate sessions with friends, family, or significant other.

Service 3 Food 2.5 Price 2.5 Ambiance 3 We had the bento box and it was not worth the price. The sushi roll was of minced meat, hopefully tuna. The miso soup was different for the miso soups that I have had. I think this restaurant tries too hard to be too many things with private dinning areas, hibachi and regular menu.

The owners are super nice and treat you like family. The sushi is the freshest anywhere in Arizona! Very clean atmosphere… little sparse but the food makes up for it. The chef is very creative! By far the best sushi in the area!

The place was really cozy and nice. We got there just before 7pm on a Wednesday night and there was not a lot of people so we were seated right away. We decided to have Hibachi.(For those of you who don’t know, it’s when they cook your food in front of you.) We ordered the salmon tartare for appetizer and it was so good! Then I had the Steak Hibachi with fried rice. Salad and soup were included as well as some stir fry veggies. Our cook was really funny and he was so entertaining while cooking our food. Our waitress was also nice and she kept checking on us. It was a bit pricey but I would come back here if I ever returned to town.
