I recommended The Golden Phoenix because I had been there many years ago and it was very good back then, I suggested to my coworkers that we should give it a try since so many of us wanted Chinese Food. Well that was a big mistake. 1. we couldn’t get anyone to answer the phone to take our order ahead of time, since it was such a big order. 2. We had to place the order there and wait for 20 minutes for it to be prepared. 3. The owner/employee was in a heated argument, not the best sign. 4. There was only two customers in the whole place(that should have told me something) 5. They didn’t seem grateful for the large order, more like«Oh no a big order» and then no thank you for your order. 6. The food was over priced for what you got, one co-worker said never, ever again(he got scallops and said it looked like they took one scallop and cut it into 4 pieces, that was it). I will never go there again and neither will my co-workers, which happen to be like 8 people, they lost a lot of business because we really like to eat Chinese but not from Golden Phoenix… we’ll stay with the Lucky Bamboo Kitchen, never should have switched.

Find a better place to order from. First when I called the woman was incredibly rude. She didn’t even tell me how much the bill would be and when I asked for an estimated delivery time she said she didn’t know when it would be ready and hung up on me. I waited for the delivery and at 1.5 hours I got a call saying they were just cooking my meal and it would be our shortly. It took them over 2 hours to get me my food. On top of that it wasn’t even that good. This restaurant is a waste of time and money.

So I called to order from this place, and they said that I would have to pay first then they’ll start making my meal. I should have seen that as a red flag, but I disregarded it and drove to the other side of town to put my order in. When me and my fiancée arrived the front looked very dusty and cluttered. There were little bugs or fruit flies flying and crawling around on their front desk. Should have walked out but we were starved. A woman took our order and said it will be right out. 40MINUTESLATER, we finally get our food and left. During the car ride home, my fiancée kept complaining about a strange smell in the car and I didn’t know at the time but it was the food. We got home and opened our meals(chicken chow mien(noodles), and another chicken meal) and it reeked!!! I don’t know what they did to that food but it smelled like a diaper and sweet garbage. That’s the only way to explain it. And the noodles looked like mush! We threw it out. I’m surprised this business hasn’t been shut down yet by a health inspector. It’s beyond me how this restaurant has 2 ½ stars.

I moved to Sierra Vista recently and searched for a good take out /delivery…although the fast delivery is a plus the food is an after thought. I was extremely dissapointed in the last nights delivery. I order sweet and sour pork. it came with raw carrots, raw onions .raw bell peppers and dark brown egg rolls… wow… HORRIBLEFOOD… and you pay top price for it… wow… never again.

Definitely not worth the $! I ordered spring rolls and the house lo mein. I got 2 tiny spring rolls, maybe 2 inches long each. And the house lo mein was the worst I’ve eaten. It was slimy, had about 2 pieces of each meat, and left a terrible aftertaste. Whatever sauce they used to prepare the noodles is horrible.

Can’t go wrong with a restaurant that offers Korean and Chinese food lol. I’ve enjoyed everything I ordered from this place so far. Their delivery is great too. I live in the barracks at Fort Huachuca. I recently got back from a deployment and was pretty hungry while unpacking boxes, but couldn’t go out for food with my car’s battery being dead. Called Golden Phoenix and this nice girl talked me through the menu. My food got delivered pretty fast! I was very surprised by that. Their Chinese food is unique compared to other Chinese delivery places. It tastes much better and comes off as more of a homemade meal to me. I bet you’re thinking«cool story, bro,» so I’ll shut up lol. Long story short: No complaints from this guy. Great food with great delivery.

Ordered shrimp fried rice, literally got one shrimp cut into four pieces. Check pictures to see for yourself, I posted a pic of it. What a rip off, will never go back. Rice was bland, didn’t seem fried at all, nothing was really worth the money. I’ll stick with Bamboo garden for now on, just sucks they don’t deliver.

Ok the wonton were great but my hot and sour soup was overly spicy and had nothing in it. The teriyaki chicken was bland. It took them over a hour to get it to me and then the delivery guy didn’t have a pen and I had to find one. I wasted 38 bucks on cheap crap. The reason I ordered was for hot and sour soup. Very disappointed

Over priced«food» with Terrible customer service! Closed kitchen early so they would not need to make food for an order. Would not return even if I was paid to attend. I will drive to Tucson for my Asian cuisine from now on, thats how bad it is. Several opportunities for improvement but not likely staff is competent enough to implement any.

In town for a month… and not a minute later! 1 star for the simple fact that they serve food. Sierra Vista is a small town in the middle of nowhere in the desert so I wasn’t expecting much. First off the service was a 2 out of 5. She was polite and prompt with the food — when she wasn’t on her iPhone with headphones on sitting in the back booth. The food was not great, decent at best. We had the Mongolian beef(spicy,) some pork dish, and chicken chow mein(crispy noodles.) All 3 dishes were overrun by vegetables with small portions of meat. The best out of the 3 was the spicy Mongolian beef. As far as the noodle dish, I was expecting pan fried noodles. Negative. It’s the free fried crispy strips of wonton they give you upon seating with meat, veggies, and sauce on top. Low point of the visit was the fact that they don’t serve green tea. They have regular tea but an Asian restaurant that doesn’t serve green tea is just wrong. I typically see cars here during the lunch hour, as with all other restaurants on east/west fry blvd. This town is definitely not known for its culinary cuisines, OBVIOUSLY, and sad to say that the Golden Phoenix doesn’t even make the top 3 out of a sorry list of restaurants here.

Their Korean food is better than their Chinese. A bit pricey but worth it.

I swear, this place has the worst chinese food in town and that’s really saying something. I’ve heard the Korean food is good. If the owners would take my recommendation it would be to stick with what you’re good at(which is not chinese).

I only ate here once. The egg rolls were still partially frozen(scary since they had pork). Which also means they weren’t fresh. They forgot my entrée entirely and then when reminded brought the wrong one! The waiter seemed more interested in watching TV than service. Never again.

This place is such a find. The service is exceptional in its attentiveness: these little-old asian ladies are so freakin cute and treat you like family. I”ve only eaten the Korean food(they have both Korean and Chinese) but it was to-die-for. I was surprised to have such authentic food out here in Sierra Vista and again I cant emphasize enough how nice the proprieters are. The first time I ate there the cook came out of the kitchen, looked at my companion and I and remarked that we are too skinny, so she was bringing us more meat. Out she came with a whole other plate of sizzling beef bolgogi, free of charge. Can’t recommend this place highly enough.

I went here a couple of months ago and forgot to review. The service was fantastic and definitely the best part! They have a huge HDTV to watch, so it’s not a snooty place by any means. The food was ok, but not spectacular. The breaded meats seem to be mostly breading and very little, if any, meat. They charge waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too much to add meat to the fried rice. My boyfriend paid 2 bucks to add pork and there were about 3 or 4 tiny pieces. I give the restaurant a 3 based on quantity of food and excellent service. I don’t think I will be returning any time soon, but it wasn’t terrible.

Wayyyyy over priced. I only tried their Korean food, however. The bibimpap was decent for Sierra vista(I tried it at 2 other places in sv), their jajang-meun was substandard(as in tasted like they didnt make it but boiled the noodles and heated up a store bought jajangmeun sauce bag or powder mix for 11 bucks) and their spicy pork was actually pretty decent but a small portion for 13bucks. Each of their dishes cost 4 to 5 bucks more a piece than what they go for in the md/va area(a region not known to be cheap!). Additionally, their delivery service was poor… Made me come down to get it at hotel lobby instead of coming up, of course I had already made the mistake of including $ 4 tip on credit card at time of order too. Another annoying thing… If you order the dishes in Korean… They don’t understand you… Gotta tell them the numbers. WTH??? Lol. That was definitely a first. All that being said, I’ve tried 4 of the 5 Korean places in sv and this one makes decent taigi bulgogi(spicy pork). I have yet to find a place in Sierra vista that makes good kalbi(beef ribs) it’s like they all buy the Asian store sauce to marinate the meat in… Cheaply done and terrible if you have had real kalbi. The owners don’t put that junk on their dinner table I assure you! I thought«Maybe I’m just too used to my mom’s, aunts’, grandmother’s, etc» but I’ve found really good Korean restaurants all over the globe.

I was disappointed to see the small to go box at first, but once I tasted the food I have to say that this was the best fried rice I’ve had in Sierra Vista and Tucson! The fried rice look so normal, just like all other Americanized Chinese food. Yet once you actually tried it, you can tell that they have something extra in the food to make it taste better! Although thenox was food, but it was packed with lots of fried rice that I almost couldn’t finish it! Will definately order again!

it has been awhile since i sat down in here to eat and, knowing the owner’s son, i know that they are korean, so i tend toward that part of the menu. HOWEVER… i have been CRAVING chinese food lately. let me say that in SV, it is difficult to find good chinese food. you want korean, you are golden, but chinese is a little more difficult. i didn’t wanna get chinese from the«flaming wok» in the mall, cuz every time i eat there, i refuse to eat chinese for about 6 months… it just ruins chinese for me. this is where golden phoenix comes in… i ordered the #6 combo(cuz i’m a fat monkey). this entails 5 crab puffs, a protien(i got the sesame chicken), fried rice and some egg drop soup. i was told that i couldn’t order pick up over the phone(hummanah wha?), so i ordered delivery. i was immediately told that it might take awhile, since it was ‘rush hour’. no big deal. my food made it in less than an hour so *yay*…and i just realized, as i was writing this, that although i ordered a $ 12 meal, my card was charged $ 15 and, silly me, not remembering this as the guy walked up to my door, i added another $ 2…so…yeah…now i’m a little more upset. but i’ll leave my rating at 2 stars… cuz i’m nice… but not too happy… moving on… k, so i’m always bugged when there are no chopsticks in my bag. additionally, where the hell is my fortune cookie? not that i wanna eat it, but it’s CHINESE food… it ALWAYS comes with a fortune cookie! my egg drop soup was like eating egg particles in egg yolk… SUPER thick… i think i ate about 5 bites. the crab puffs were the best part, but they were a lot smaller than i typically imagine a crab puff to be… prolly half the size, in fact. the sesame chicken was… off. not bad, i ate about ¼ of it… just…not sesame enough. more like sesame/bbq…i dunno how to explain it, but i would not recommend it. the fried rice was okay… not very veggie/egg filled, not very flavorful. hmm…i’m not sure why i’m not giving this only one star. i think it’s due to the fond memories of their korean food. although i chose this place for dinner cuz i didn’t want to be turned off of chinese food for the next six month, i think that i failed miserably. i’m going to korea in less than two weeks… i bet i can get better chinese food there…
