Went for the first time today… the blue burger is amazing! Split the burger and the pulled pork with a friend… pork was good but the burger was excellent!!!

We are some great burgers! JG score of 7⁄10(+3 for food, +1 for atmosphere, +1 for price, 0 for no Diet Dr Pepper, 0 for just typical service and +2 for we would return in a heartbeat) Burgers were awesome. We got a mushroom burger and a blue burger and split’em. Both burgers were very tender meat and well cooked. Including the bun, these burgers seemed to melt in our mouths and did not need much chewing. Buns were just average bread but better when warm and served hot. The mushroom burger had sautéed onions and mushrooms too and was immediately a good burger. We were surprised to have it topped by the blue burger with its similar smoking meat and bread but topped with an unusual bacon jam topping= small bacon chunks in a maple syrup concoction… this took the prize! The burgers are served with a side and having read the previous reviews, we had to go with the cheese grits. The grits were okay today. Maybe other days are better. Ours needed more cheese and flavor but were still okay. That was our meal. The atmosphere is a small little place with a hole in the wall feel. We liked it, made you feel like you found something not many people know about. Price was good under &15. No Diet Dr Pepper, only Diet Coke. You do drink out of those red plastic cups from a dispenser which was neat. Service was typical and friendly. We will be back for sure. Next month, while in the area, we will stop by for some of the bacon jalapeño deviled eggs we missed out on!

The food was good, but nothing to write home about. For $ 11-$ 13 a burger, I was expecting AMAZING, but what I got was more«eh». The coleslaw was quite good, though(hence the 3 rather than 2 star rating). No A/C and a burger that needs more in the way of spices meant a sweltering meal. Bottom line: there are better burgers out there.

Cheese grits! I had never tried cheese grits until I ate here a few months ago. They were amazing. The brisket that the grits came with was the best I have ever had. I have tried their burgers, wings, pulled pork and beef sandwich. All were excellent. Blue defines hole-in-the-wall but it is well worth the trip.

As someone who is from Shreveport, I cannot believe I just discovered this. Best restaurant(bang for your buck) in town. That includes Herby K’s.

Everyone except the owner/chef was very nice when we tried this place out. However, after hearing the owner/chef bark at her employees like they were trash for the thirty minutes we waited for 2 burgers, neither our friends nor we will ever return to this shack. She was so unprofessional and disrespectful that we were extremely uncomfortable and embarrassed for the poor ladies working for this hag. And to top it off, the burgers weren’t even more than mediocre. I still don’t understand why we waited so long when there weren’t even many customers there. This terrible woman should NOT be running a business!

Oh my goodness. Loved everything about this place. I’m a Yankee and don’t eat cheese grits. Or, any kind of grits, really. The waitress brought me a taste and I’ve been converted. Those cheese grits were amazing. The pulled pork was delicious. My coworker had the special, pot roast. He let me taste it and it was incredible. Love the ambiance. My only regret is they didn’t have banana pudding. Guess I’m gonna have to go back. Darn the luck!

Today was raining but I wanted a good hamburger. I’m no stranger to this restaurant. It’s small, down home & the deck is ‘da bomb’. Place was packed & being a single diner invited another single diner to join me. Rain on the tin roof. Awesome burger, cheese grits & meeting a new person. All in all a wonderful rainy Friday. Don’t pass this up.

Best barbecue in Shreveport. Great patio out back, even has a dog friendly area. Hours may change so check Facebook first. Come hungry, just don’t come in a rush.

Anyone who has not visited this place has done their taste buds an injustice. This restaurant has outrageous flavor with a personal touch of home. From the smoked chicken wings to the key lime pie, it’s worth the money and time. Bring an appetite and a pillow :)

I was working in the area and had not had lunch yet, I drove past this little hole in the wall tiny building and immediately could smell the deliciousness in the air. I turned around and came back. The choices on the menu and the daily specials all looked so wonderful I had a hard time deciding what to order. Everything on the menu was so creative and well thought out. I went with the bacon avocado egg sandwich with cheese grits. I know this sounds pretty ordinary but it was far from that! Trust me it will make you want to slap to mama! Yummo!!! I will definitely be coming back!

Wowzas! Few times will I give a restaurant 5 stars but Blue deserves it. From the outside it does not look like much but on the inside it’s a foodie gold mine! A delightful array of lovingly prepared menu choices combined with the feeling you’ve discovered something before it hits the big time makes it an incredible eating experience. The blue burger covered with bacon jam includes a generous helping of the best beef. You will not leave hungry unless you have a medical condition. Be sure and meet the enthusiastic cook who makes you want to stay a while and watch her work her magic in the kitchen. Seriously. Give this place a try.

After reading about this on 20×49 I was eager to try. Ill keep this short and sweet. THISWASAMAZING. We had the Blue burger, which was wonderful. Just wish it had more sauce on it. Also we had the Pot roast, excellent flavor, but again it was a tad bit dry. Overall this place rocks.

After seeing a big spread about Blue in the Shreveport Times, I was eager to give it a try. As a Louisiana native, I love Southern comfort food and the down-home vibe seemed like something I’d really enjoy. With its proximity to downtown, Blue is clearly catering to a lunch crowd eager to get in and get out. You order at the counter, take a seat, and the staff brings you your food as soon as it’s ready. And it doesn’t take long. I, of course, opted to try their famous(hey, it was in the paper!) blue burger. Topped with gruyère cheese and bacon jam, it was unlike anything I’d ever had before. I wasn’t sure what to expect of «bacon jam,» but I liked it. Large chunks of bacon in a thick, almost molasses-like spread. Very sweet, yet salty(bacon!) at the same time. This burger was not small either, as I left a few bites so as not to feel overstuffed. I definitely liked the burger, but I think I’m more of a traditionalist when it comes to burgers. But if you’re adventurous, give it a try, as a friend of a friend claimed it was the«best burger he’d ever had in his life.» A bold statement indeed. On the side, I tried a cup of their chicken and sausage gumbo. It was definitely unlike any gumbo I’ve had before, as it was very gritty. And what I mean by «gritty» is that it had a lot of grits in it. Is grits in gumbo a thing? This Shreveport boy had never had that before, and while it was good, I think I would have liked a more traditional gumbo, perhaps with some rice in place of the grits, better. My friend ordered the pulled pork sandwich, but when the food came out they brought her the pulled pork over grits. We sent it back and they were very apologetic about the mistake, and the replacement sandwich came out just about five minutes later. But there was no coleslaw on top, and my friend was disappointed. But not wanting to be pests, we didn’t send it back again. Even without the slaw, she enjoyed the sandwich. As for service and price, both were good. The wait staff was quick, kind, and accommodating, and the value is excellent. I wish Blue a lot of success and I will be back at some point in the future to sample other items on the menu and get some more Southern comfort.
