Suburban Speech Center

We couldn’t be more pleased with the quality of treatment from Suburban Speech, headed by Nancy. My 2 ½ yr old son worked directly with Kim and started out almost non verbal, but very quickly responded to her cues. The improvement of his speech made a world of difference with his communication and temperament. Her ability to make each session enjoyable helped engage him in the lessons and carry over at home and socially. A year later he is right on target and a very happy little boy!

We are thrilled with the entire team at Suburban Speech! My son had an evaluation with Nancy and her team 3 years ago after a referral from my friend. Working with Ronnie for auditory and Language with Candace and Sue has proven to be such a blessing over time. Our son is a shining star now. He has so much confidence in school and we are so grateful. I would only refer my friends for any speech related issues to Suburban Speech.

I came to Suburban Speech over 8 yrs. ago when my first child, Gavin, wasn’t speaking. My pediatrician had send her children here and advised me to go ahead and get an evaluation. Thank goodness I did!!! I would bring him twice a week for over 2 yrs. and drag along my daughter who initially was an infant and by the time we left was almost 3 ½. Gavin started out maybe speaking 3 words and there were no guarantees, but he had 2 terrific therapists (Jane and Judy) who were kind and patient yet persistent and diligent and before long his speech improved tremendously.
If someone asked me to recommend a qualified speech center there is no question it would be Suburban, however, they were much more than that… from the Receptionist Arlene, to the Director Nancy, to all of the therapists, everyone is helpful and kind and comforting. These people became my support group, my go to whenever something was wrong or if/​when Gavin wasn’t acting right. When they did identify what it could be, they referred me to someone else who was able to treat that specific issue. All of Gavin’s needs were cared for by someone I was referred to by Suburban Speech. Even today, 9 yrs. later, my daughter was diagnosed with Auditory Processing Disorder and the first person I called to assist me with me with treatment was Nancy.
It can be extremely scary and painful for a first time mother to be faced with there child not speaking and all of the other issues that stem from speech delays. I am certain that if it weren’t for Suburban Speech my son wouldn’t be the bright, happy, active, and well adjusted
child he is today. I still have friends I met there and am also able to guide other parents in the right direction simply from the path Suburban showed me.

We have had the pleasure of working with the Suburban Speech Center and Nancy for three years now. First it was just our daughter and now my younger son is working there as well, and since day one it has been nothing but a positive experience. Nancy and her staff are 100% dedicated to their clients and their profession. Not only have they helped both my daughter and son make giant strides in the their communication skills but they have taken to the time to get to know my children and treat them as part of the family. Suburban has always kept us in the loop with a clear and comprehensive plan for therapy. They have the experience and knowledge to work across a broad range of different disabilities which has been a great resource for my daughter who has multiple struggles. We are certain that Suburban has laid the groundwork that has helped our daughter finally make the advances in school that we have been waiting for. Nancy and her staff not only provide top notch therapy but they are all kind, patient, honest and completely devoted to my children. Suburban Speech Center was recommended to us by a top developmental pediatrician in New York City and we would recommend as well.
