The only reason I’m gifting Bagels 4 U one star is because Unilocal doesn’t allow a review with zero stars! I called to place an order for pickup, a woman answered the phone, made someone else aware there was a phone call, and then I proceeded to hear five people place their orders without someone picking the phone back up! Since I recently moved to the area, I wanted to give Bagels 4 U a fair chance, which I deeply regret. It was basically like each employee was out to lunch or in a rocket ship en route to Mars. Not only was the service below par, they messed up a bagel sandwich, the chicken salad was sour, and the cashier forgot to give a bagel… a bagel that I wish I hadn’t went back to pick up because the quality was horrible. A raccoon wouldn’t even go through the trash for that«bagel»! When I asked the cashier who handles the phone, she looked at another cashier, but said nothing. When I asked the second cashier, she just stared at me without acknowledging me lol. I was so looking forward to a bagel sandwich, but I would’ve had better service and quality at the dumpster behind Dunkin Donuts. I will never be going back, and will be sharing my experience with neighbors, colleagues and friends.

Some of the best bagels EVER! They’re always fresh and they always have an abundance of options for you. Anything from veggie cream cheese to rainbow cream cheese. Bagel options are also endless, and don’t forget to try a FLAGLE! They’re new bagel sandwich is the bagel bomb, heard it’s pretty amazing. Iced coffee is great, they actually freeze ice cubes of coffe so the ice doesn’t dilute your coffee. Love this place! Dear MGMT: the reason I gave 4 Stars although the food quality deserves 5 stars is because your staff is so rude! 9⁄10 I get attitude and they are so unfriendly. At first I thought it was because of the language barrier but speaking in Spanish didn’t change their attitudes. Rude rude ride, I’ve been going here for years and thy same 4 lady’s are always so rude. still love your bagels tho!!!

I felt that I should update my review of this immensely popular bagel place in Short Hills. The parking lot is often crowded but don’t let that dissuade you from giving this place a try. The bagels made on premises are fresh and delicious. They have all the standard flavors and many unique ones such as jalapeño, pumpkin, rye, etc. They make a really good jalapeño cream cheese with real jalapeños in it which I recommend highly. In addition to the bagels they have all the usual salads: egg, tuna, chicken, macaroni. etc. They also have sliced meats for sandwiches. Let’s not fort the smoked fish which they slice on premises. There is always a line which seems chaotic but is actually organized well and runs efficiently. The ladies at the register are all latinas. Super nice and very hard working. Tip jar in front take note. They have frozen bagels six for $ 2.00 in a freezer to take home. Best bagels in the area hands down. The best thing ever is served here, namely, the Bagel Bomb. Taylor Ham or Bacon with egg, cheese and a hash brown on a bagel. Ultimate hangover cure and absolutely amazing. Love it! I’d eat every day but then I’d be a blimp. My only complaint is the coffee which has gone from awful to meh, which is an improvement but not good enough. It is a must go if you are in the area.

Easily the best bagels and spreads in the area. Can be a lengthy wait in line on weekend mornings, but worth it.

the overall quality of the food was superb, the bagels were hot and crunchy just the way i like it. The employes who’s work their are very nice although sometimes they got my order wrong because of how busy and loud this place gets. The overall quality for the environment is some-what loud but lines go by pretty fast. One time i had to wait in a line outside the dre just for a bagel. If you do go then i recommend the Bacon egg and Cheese on a bagel. The parking is not very convenient and can get filled pretty easy.

I ordered a breakfast sandwich with salt/pepper/ketchup and upon paying, the girl told me that she forgot the ketchup but that I can put it on myself with the small packets located by the door. I ordered a coffee with cream and 2 sugars which equates to a coffee with cream and two times the amount of normal sugar. Bagels have shrunk in size considerably. They are about 50% of the size they were 10 years ago. This is the last time I am giving this place a second chance. STAYAWAY!!!

The only thing that would make this place more weird is taxidermic animals on the walls. And maybe a juggler. But the bagels are worth the trip, for sure. Our orders were perfectly filled but I can see potential confusion lurking behind every transaction. You really want to make eye contact here and convey your points, or you’ll end up with something odd Now, about those bagels: excellent! I had an egg bagel with scallion cream cheese and fresh lox and it was as good as most Manhattan/Brooklyn places. I will return when in the area. Coffee: heed what you have read. It’s not good, unless you like brown colored liquid that reminds you of puddle water. Too bad. No cream. No honey for tea. Try to avoid.

Best bagels in the area. We love the everything flagels — you have to try them. They aren’t doughy like regular bagels — it’s basically a flattened bagel that’s optimized for maximum crust! Yummy. Service is always quick and efficient.

Nothing fancy, just tasty & freshly made bagels(& flagels). Good cold cuts & great salads. Fast service. Clean restaurant. No muss, no fuss. Oh their iced coffees actually use coffee ice cubes. Brilliant.

Worth the wait, but the sloppy joe’s are blegh. The bagels are so delicious. Their cookies and snacks at the counter are tasty. This is one of the best Bagel places in Jersey. The coffee is second to NONE. Though they do add a TON of sugar ;) As a bagel restaurant, not so much, I’d say go down 3 miles away to Bagel Chateaux for a Bagel Restaurant

For the love of all that is holy, stop talking to your damn coworkers and pay attention to taking your orders so you can get them right! It is IMPOSSIBLE to get an order right. Every time they always get something wrong with the order. Today I asked for a raspberry bagel with cinnamon raisin cream cheese and got a cinnamon raisin bagel with pink cream cheese which I assume it’s raspberry. I guess it’s my mistake for not checking the order before I got home… Silly me for thinking it would be right. Just reconfirm the order after taking it. It would help SOMUCH. Also– it would be great if you didn’t allow parents to plunk their kids on the counter so their butt and dirty shoes get all over where you hand people their food. So done with this place.

I noticed something else very strange about bagels4u. If you order a bagel with veggie cream cheese instead of plain cc, it’s about a $ 0.55 cent upcharge. Ok, fair enough, right? If you order a bagel with lox with veggie cream cheese instead of plain cc, it’s a $ 1.55-ish upcharge. Makes no sense, plain cream cheese vs veggie price differential should be consistent.

Their bagel sandwiches are below average. The bacon is never crispy. The egg is cooked weird. Limited selection of cheese. I mean they don’t have cheddar. CHEDDAR! The bagels themselves are good but their bagel and egg sandwiches are below average.

Wow. This place is pretty poor. I’ve tried going here about 4 times, and each time my order was wrong or service was bad, etc. Today was my last time! They messed up my order with low fat tuna. I was eating on site, and they provided me with no napkins or forks(for our macaroni salad). I had to drag my kids back up to the counter through a line of annoyed customers to beg for silverware and napkins. They don’t have anything out. I guess Short Hills people are stealing plastic forks and paper napkins. Their bagels are horrible. Hot Bagel in Florham Park is so much better… there is no comparison. My daughter will eat almost any bagel around, but she refused today. I have no idea why people like this place or how it has turned into a small chain.

This location deserves five stars for service or food alone. No matter how long the line, you will be served quickly and efficiently. Their bagels are fantastic, as are their sandwiches and deli items. I’d go so far as to rate their store roasted beef as on par with Kings or Whole Foods. My favorite: raspberry bagel with cream cheese, and toasted coconut coffee.

By far the best bagels I’ve ever had. You have to try their bagels when they’re hot out of the oven — AMAZING! If you aren’t lucky enough to see them dumping them into one of the bins, then just ask for one of the hot ones from the big bins next to the oven(usually plain and everything). Or just get any of the bagels toasted, they’re yummy that way too. I generally alternate between hot everything and toasted cinnamon raisin :) They also have espresso drinks and chai, but it takes them a while to make those so I don’t like to get them when it’s really busy. The bagel egg sandwiches are good too when you want something other than cream cheese on your bagel(although also a bit slow to make). Yes, there’s a line on weekend mornings and the services is a bit brusque, but it’s SO worth it. And I’ve never had a problem with not getting what I asked for, maybe that’s just if you have big or complicated orders?

I hate to say it but — every time I have ordered food here, the order has been screwed up. It can be very frustrating because the wait in the(usually) long line is always so fast paced and rushed that when I finally get my order, I am in a rushed mood and usually hurry out the door only to get back home and find the wrong bagel, or an un toasted bagel with the wrong cream cheese. The bagels are good though and they make your tea /coffee rather than charge you for it and send you over to a crowded coffee fixin bar to make it yourself.
