The pizza was average. The crust was crispy on the edges but soft in the middle. The toppings were generous. The sauce was REALLYSWEET, almost like candy. The service was terrible. They told us our pizza would be ready in 15 maybe 20 minutes and when we got there in time, it took them until 40 minutes to have it. When we arrived she said that uh they were really backed up, but apparently she didn’t know this when she quoted us? Avoid

Gosh, there is nothing to like about Salvatore’s Pizza. The best thing it has going for it is that it is clean and not crowded. The pizza was bad: undercooked, bland, and tasted like it was made from Sysco ingredients. The garlic bread involved cheap garlic salt. The kid who waited on our table used the same disingenuous schtick with us as the people two tables over. Avoid.

Would rate zero if we could. Never got pizza. Ordered at 6:00PM. They said they would deliver within the hour. We called them at 7:00PM. They said the delivery guy left 20 minutes earlier, but had 5 other deliveries. We live about 6 blocks away. We called again at 7:30PM. This time they said they hadn’t left yet. We cancelled the order at that time. Too bad because it was our son’s birthday party. Our advice is to never order from there if you need a place to count on.

I feel for Salvatore’s. They’re directly across the street(sort of) from Vedo’s. Don’t mess with Vedo’s. Visually, the pizza’s a delight. Thin crust. Everything portioned and loaded correctly. (sigh) The taste lacks zest. Sauce is blah. Cheese is blah. The toppings are ok. The sausage looked great, but was bland, as well The service is Shorewood High(babysitters), and the customers are Shorewood moms with kids in tow.(Or, retirees with a delicate palate.) I can see how this works, on location. If you’re looking to sit down and veg, you could do worse. But if you’re jonesing for za… Stick with Vedo’s.

I am a pizza addict and constantly on the search for a better pizza place. Unfortunately, MKE is not the world’s foremost pizza region, so I was happy that another pizzeria opened by my house. While the crust takes some getting used to, it’s different, not bad. The Margharita is tasty and reasonably priced. I have had it numerous times and plan on going back. I enjoy the garlic bread too! Ususally I get takeout, the décor is a bit lame and it’s not very lively.

So I gave Salvatore’s a second shot. This time I got a personal pizza — the Eggplant Parmesan to be exact. Looked great, smelled great. but only tasted ok. The crust was chewy and kinda soft. It was super thin — and I was anxious to get a nice crispy crust. It wasn’t at all crispy. It definitely needed more time in the oven. Disappointing.

The crust on the pizza here was perfect. It was crispy enough to pick up a slice in your hand and eat it the way I think you should. I ordered just Italian sausage and it was pretty boring. Seemed to need more sauce. If I go back it will have to be warmer weather. Every time the opened felt a blast of cold air.

This place is pretty decent if you don’t have extremely high expectations. I wasn’t a huge fan of their pizza crust — a little too thin for me. The pizza, itself I think was just lacking enough sauce. But I really enjoyed the fact that the sizes were actually practical. Although leftovers are great, I never like leaving with 10 lbs of food. I got the smallest size pizza they had, and it was reasonably priced and the perfect size for one person. The server we had was wonderful and very attentive as well. This won’t be my go to place for pizza, but I live pretty close and I will probably come back to try their other dishes.

Most people have their favorite pizza joints and are very loyal to said pizza joints(See: Pizza Man(RIP), Zaffiros, DiMarinis) so when a new cat comes on a the scene there is a lot of skepticism for the pizza joint. Maybe I was guilty of the squinting of one eye and taking a close look at Salvatore’s but I definitely went in with an open mind. FYI: The owners of Salvatore’s also owns Peter Scortino’s on Brady Street. The space is cozy, small and nicely done. The booth backs all had high bead board which is stained dark and looked classy. The bathrooms were nicely tiled and clean! The menu is small and to the point. They have 5 already designed pizzas 3 of which were veggie. However, you are welcome to make your own with the listed toppings. We ordered the Margaretta Pizza and the Salvatore’s Special. The Margaretta: Not good. I usually LOVE this pizza. The mozz slices were too big and the texture was strange – maybe thinner slices would work? The red sauce on the pizza was strange too – it just tasted«off” – like maybe a light EVOO and garlic would have worked better. Lots of fresh basil and Italian spices, which was nice. The crust was not as crisp as I like it making the crust kind of chewy. I really liked the Salvatore’s Pizza – sausage, pep, green pepper, onion, black olives – it was loaded. The crust was perfectly done and had that awesome cracker feel to it. I liked this ‘za A LOT! They do not serve a full bar– just bottled beer and wine here folks – which is fine by me. I liked this place and I think they will be a great addition to the North Shore. I look forward to going again in the near future –who knows maybe this will be my new«go-to» pizza joint?

Like the 3 stars suggest, this place was A-OK. The service was friendly and good and the place is cute. Our group ordered garlic bread and a couple of pizzas. I liked the garlic bread but it was a little plain. I tried the Margherita pizza and my meat-loving friends had The Salvatore. The Margherita was alright. Nice fresh ingredients, but just an ok crust. I was disappointed that when I’d take a bite all of the cheese would slide off, even after it had settled a bit. The décor is okay and it would be nice if they turned the lights down lower when it got dark out. It felt a little sterile.

The new kid on the block never has it easy. I’m with pretty much everyone else on this one… three stars. What can be said additionally that my stellar Unilocal friends haven’t already talked about? –I’m with Ellie on the ambiance/lighting situation. –I’m w/Mel on the not being a huge fan of the Margherita but diggin’ on the Salvatore. –I’m w/Tony on the whole«I plan on coming back to try some of the apps and entrees to give the place another go-round.» -& I’m with George on the service being spot on. Things to note, also: –reasonable prices –nice bathrooms –small space –George’s truck is pretty freakin’ awesome

Came to Salvatore’s to find salvation. Salvation from hunger. I came early, too early and had to salivate in anticipation of enjoying what I smell, the aroma of oven and was seated at one of the best tables along the wall. This place is clean and fresh with a good mixture of modern and classic family crests on the wall. The Girls up front were taking orders by phone and had time for friendly chit chat with the customers. This CMYE we got a chance to discuss all kinds of things found in Talk section but in person. Thanks to Rachel for getting us together again. We had a group of 6 and in the back of our minds each person is thinking in comparison to memory of the good stuff. The Salvatore is the deluxe version with Thin walled green pepper very fresh, plenty of peperoni sausage onion black olives. The thin crust was done to perfection the sauce tasted fresh and not overly sweetened. I could tell from looking at the Margherita Pizza that they use very fresh ingredients. The baking could have been a little longer. That’s just an issue of trying to coordinate two pizzas. Service from our girl was good, she gave attention to taking care of our table for food and drinks.

I ate there last night with kids and we did enjoy our meal. The space is very small but well done and i would guess seats only about 40 or so. We had one appetizer and a pizza but the menu, although small, has several appetizers to choose from as well as sandwich’s and pastas. We had mozzarella marinara for appetizer and it was very good, four very large pieces that were lightly breaded and severed with a very good sauce, it seems they used fresh mozzarella for these. They were very good. The crust of the pizza was outstanding and so was the sauce, very thin and crispy crust. we had the pizza margarita. My only complaint about the pizza was that they put way to many tomatoes on top and it made the pizza very runny. They also put some kind of Italian spice mix on top and they used way to much, with a very good sauce, fresh mozzarella and the fresh basil this is not necessary and detracted from what i thought was very good pizza. i will definitely go back while i am in Milwaukee, with a great sauce and a great crust they have a good start.
