Place didn’t look tempting, but wanted to support local small business… after ordering my food with awful service, I wanted to just walk out. Nothing was fresh, original or tasty. I’m surprised at how this place is still open.

I love Nesmon Café. The food, coffee, and tea selection is always exceptional. The macarons are fresh and the Croque Madame is on-par with the ones I’ve had in France. Additionally, the outdoor seating with lovely flowers and vintage-y looks are absolutely charming. Keep up the good work! :)

I absolutely love this place. I work next door so I eat here A LOT. Nily(the owner) is such a talented chef/baker. Her menu is crazy good with crepes, sandwiches, salads and more. I love the atmosphere too. Small, cozy and cute items to buy in her little boutique.

This little Café brings food pleasure in a big way. You always get a deliciously tasty portion of food that is very satisfying. I have designated this spot as my 2nd office=) I often bring my son to play at the near by kids play ground and grab a bite to eat here. The best crepes I have ever had in Los Angeles. Nily the owner is so accommodating. Her girls cook up a wonderful selection of crepes, sandwiches, Soups and Salads that make you feel you have escaped to France for a few hours. The Brazilian Jazz music plays over you delicately transporting you to the right combination of feel good ambiance while you enjoy your meal. Their deserts– My goodness. Their Cheesecake is crazy– So Yummy and rich I can only enjoy it on my cheat day. For those of you in a training schedule– Its dangerous lol. But so darn delish! Cant say enough about this place. See you there, Enjoy=) Yance

My husband and I have been wanting to stop by here for a while and finally went for breakfast this morning. The coffee was delicious, fresh baked bread and probably one of the most delicious omelets I have ever had. Staff is super friendly. We will definitely be back.

If you’ve read any of my other reviews you already know that for me, atmosphere is king. It doesn’t have to be luxurious, some of my favorite atmospheres are hole in the walls, it just has to have one. Well the atmosphere at Nesmon speaks to my soul. Perfectly French, I could spend every Sunday relaxed into a vintage chair inside their cottage like shop, bakery and restaurant, dipping macarons into my lattes. I’ve only stopped in for a coffee and a yogurt parfait, but you can expect to see me here regularly, regardless of whether or not the food is mind blowing. On my next stop by Nesmon I’ve got my eye on the croque madam. Annnnnnnd maybe a Nutella banana crêpe. ;)

SUCH a great café! I often come to Nesmon with friends for their house crepes and lemonade. Grilled cheese with tomato soup are must try! Sweet French music and super delicious food along the way with amazing service. 5

I have come here many times before even though I don’t live around the area. It’s definitely worth the ride. My favorite crêpe is the Maison, but the biggest reason why I love going is because of the desserts. I’ve tried about half of them so far and they are all incredible. They are fresh and just perfect! All the girls are really friendly and they always manage to make the place feel homey. Katya tends to be the one who serves me and it’s always refreshing to see her, always smiling and asking how my day is going. I really do love being able to sit there for a while and enjoy a good cup of coffee and a nice meal. This place is a must if you’re around the area!

I did it… I went again and I should have just stayed away. The customer service is awful at it’s best. I really do not feel like supporting a place that shows zero appreciation for their customers — the customer that make their business possible. This time I went in on a Saturday morning around 10 a.m., stood their for about 10 mins without being acknowledged. I asked at the counter — are you open? The girl didn’t even turn around to address me, she just said yeah. Adiós Nesmond Café — lost me as a customer.

Great location but very poor customer service, rude. I went there and the manager she was doing the payroll during lunch hours … Wast of time I don’t go there again.

Delicious food! Try the croissants. Don’t listen to the jerk that said he spent hundreds of dollars here, had one bad experience, then wrote the whole place off. If you never Unilocaled when you had countless good experiences, why did you only do it on a singular bad one?

What a find! It seriously feels like you’ve hopped a flight to France. Lovely French music adds to the ambiance and does a nice job(almost) of blocking out the Ventura bustle. I saw a few reviews that mentioned poor service– maybe those girls are gone? All smiles and helpful suggestions here! Great crêpe menu; from dessert crêpe fixes to evening crêpe entrees– divine! Beautiful pastries as well– I will have to save those for my next visit though! Free wifi so you can bring your laptop and work while you crêpe ;)

Charming cozy French style café, with calm positive music. I am vegan, and I was able to find here delicious latte with soy milk and a vegan desert Big selection of coffee drinks, and my favourite — fresh mint tea. They have decent menu for lunch like crapes with fruits, etc. This place is family owned, very clean and fresh, so it feels like home. On a Sunday morning I adore places like this

Delicious. I’ve had the egg crêpe twice and the second time I brought a friend who had one of the sweet crepes and we both loved ‘em. Some other reviews complain about waitresses but we had only good service — friendly, informative and speedy. I like the hat motif too! My buddy was immediately taking a pic to send his gf who would love this place. We’ll both be back!

Crêpe marvel($ 7.95) gets 5 stars. Mocha(s– $ 3.95) wasn’t chocolate-y enough for me. The chocolate cake($ 5.95) on the other hand is really good — surprisingly light and not too sweet! I look forward to coming back for more sweet treats!

My bf and I were driving pass and at first glance seemed like it had a great ambiance. The food was AWFUL. I had the egg sandwich my boyfriend had the french toast. I had to wait for my sandwich and received it when my boyfriend was halfway through his meal. The food is OVERPRICEDCRAP!!! Will never go back here. …

Nesmond Café — really want to love this place… it’s décor is warm & inviting & the menu looks delicious! We ordered 2 ice coffees and 1 crêpe maisonette &1 crêpe with nutella. Coffee was great, not too strong or weak — just perfect. So here’s why I am giving them 3 stars. The crepes were bland… yes — even the one with nutella, although not totally surprised — prices are high AND their service is poor. Ohhhh…well — their customer service is poor. No smiles, please or thank yous. Unfortunately, there was nothing genuine about the staff — no attempts at all. We had our 3 yr old with us and when she said«hi», there was still no attempt for small conversation, just a forced smile. Our experience was today, Sunday, 11⁄15 around 11:00 a.m. With 3 or 4 ladies working &3 tables/customers — they were not busy at all… simply no reason for poor service. This is our 1st time here & there are a lot of places to go to on Ventura Blvd so not sure if we’ll make a huge effort to come back. I hope Nesmond Café remembers that their customers make it possible for them to stay open. Try a little, don’t push us away!

2.5 stars This was my second time coming here and it was much like my first(2.5 earlier). I can’t tell who is working here, some wear a type of uniform(hat and black shirt) and others in regular clothes. The owner or manager was sitting at the table next to us. What I observed was pretty horrendous. He got into a small altercation with a homeless man on a bike. I live in the neighborhood and have seen this man around. The owner/manager, attempting to get this man to leave the area, kicked his bike tire and got in his face. Treating others disrespectfully is never okay. The food was good — 4 stars. The outdoor seating — which is 90% of the seating is pretty chaotic with the noise of the street and the neighboring car wash.

I’m new to the area and while searching for brunch I stumble across This adorable Café’ from the outside it already felt like I was in another country. It smelled so yummy and the décor is super adorable. I just had to snap chat everything in there. I ordered the egg sandwich(sunny side up) on a French baguette with a salad on the side. It was delicious and the eggs were cooked just how I like them. I will definitely be back to try one of their crepes.

Okay… So being in the food service industry I take a lot of my own personal experiences into account when writing reviews, so here goes: Yes this is a small café but 3 girls to prep/make the food, take the orders, deliver the food and clean the tables is just too much to ask for, so I don’t necessarily blame them for the service as much as poor/under staffing. We got there right in time on a Sunday afternoon as they had one table open that could fit my parents and I. You order inside, they each ordered the salmon crêpe and I got the Nicoise open face sandwich, 2 Lemonanas and 1 Americana. The Lemonanas were delicious– and they’re made with three simple ingredients(mint, lemonade and water) no extra sugar added. That took about 10 min. To come out– fine. Then about 7 min later one of the girls comes out to inform me that they are out of tuna… considering that’s the«meat» on at least 5 of their savory items I was a little irked because I don’t like salmon and wasn’t in the mood for chicken/turkey… So I settled on the open face egg salad with olive tapenade. Mind you, they didn’t tell me this until 20 min after initially ordering and when I came back from ordering the egg sandwich my parents food had been served. Okay, that’s fine too I guess. But then my sandwich comes out, the bland white bread isn’t even warm, let alone toasted… It was really unappetizing. I ended up picking through it, not satisfied whatsoever, and the side salad that comes with it wasn’t even good(it’s hard to mess up a simple salad but I think they just put oil and pepper… No lemon? Or vinaigrette?) My mom didn’t like her crêpe either so she said she’d give one of the sweet ones a try, it had orange marmalade with strawberries and bananas… When she cut her first bite it was drenched in marmalade, you only need lite marmalade to do the trick but this was unappetizingly smothered in it. We ate our respective meals but only because we were hungry… I don’t necessarily blame the girls for the low quality of the food(if they’re told to prepare it a certain way obviously that’s what they’re expected to do) but they should really revamp the menu, make sure they’re stocked, and have more staff to take care of all aspects of the customer service experience. Definitely won’t be going back though.

RUDERUDERUDE!!! You want the true French experience this is your place!!! I have been coming here for a while now and each time the service is beyond horrible. The food is tolerable which is the reason for two stars. The young girls they employ do not ever say thank you, make you wait and treat you as if they are doing me a favor! I will never come back due to this. The rude attitude and snotty little twit working there will never make this a place I will go again. Stay away if you want to be treated well. Get rid of these snotty girls and get an employee who cares!!!

Cute little place I wanted to like it… I passed by after getting my nails done on the way to work… All I wanted was a chai tea for the rode… I literally stood at the cash register for over 10 minutes and was totally ignored… The gal had her back to me the whole time… never said hi or asked what I wanted… i walked out and will never be back… the place wasn’t even that busy.

Not too impressed. I was in the area because I had a nail appointment around 1 p.m. and wanted to grab a quick bite to eat before then. My sister and I came in not knowing what to order. We did let the cashier know it was our first time there. She didn’t bat an eye, she just stared at us blankly with an annoyed look on her face because we were taking a while to order. She didn’t make any suggestions so we just ordered what we thought was best. After ordering it took about 15 minutes for our food to come which was insane considering there was no one ahead of us. People started coming in after we had already ordered. I think they need more staff there were only 2 people at this place and they seemed to prep as the orders came in. Not very convent for lunch hour rush. Once the food got to us it was time to put the taste to test. I ordered the Nesmon club. It was okay. The bread was a little to squishy for my taste, and there wasn’t enough meat. My sister ordered the chicken sandwich and she said the chicken was a bit on the dry side. I also ordered two waters and not once did we get our waters refilled. I don’t blame the cashier/waitress they were definitely understaffed. Overall the food was subpar for what they were charging.(I paid about $ 25 for two sandwiches and a drink) I don’t foresee me coming in here again. Not my cup of tea. I could have gone to subway instead.(I didn’t see it but we kept seeing people walk by us with subway bags)

It breaks my heart to lower the review for this location but I’m hoping to catch the owner’s attention. The food is good and it feels homemade. No bad in there.(Even though every once in a while I get strawberry banana instead of strawberries that I ordered. But it’s ok!) The bad is: they simply cannot handle more than 6 – 8 guests at a time. If you go there on a weekend and at a busy hour(busy for this location would be more than 12 guests), you’ll see they’re helpless and your simple crêpe can take more than 45 minutes to arrive. This is not an exaggeration. I went there on a long weekend; not only they didn’t have the typical 3 staff you normally see there, but they were short by one. One girl was washing the dishes whiles the other took orders and chopped strawberries and prepared omelets and crepes! Seriiusly?! You’ve been in this business long enough to know how much strawberries you’re gonna need on a Saturday morning. you can chop a whole lot of them at 8am that day, coz based on passed experience you know you’re gonna need them for strawberry crepes. When you have 20 people waiting, you can’t be chopping strawberries in the kitchen. This just shows you’re not set up for a full house, & you’re not planning for efficiency. Worst part was when a starving guest asked the owner how much longer it’d be, and she responded without any compassion, that the wait is at least 45 minutes. First of all, if it’s that long of a wait for an omelette or a crêpe the guest should be told before paying. Second of all, you can be a little more compassionate about her frustration. You can communicate with her that for whatever reason you’re short on staff and you try your best to accommodate all guests as soon as you can. People would be more patient with you when they feel you understand them & «care» about them. Anyways, I went there another weekend and even though it was 2 tables of 2 guests and our table of 3, the crepes took a good 30 – 35 minutes. This time I thought I’d leave a lower review for them so they can hear from someone who likes to support local businesses and likes their food, and is hoping they improve some things in their process for the betterment of their business and guest experience.

4 of us stopped here today before a hike after seeing it many times while walking and driving on Ventura Blvd. 4 different meals including crepes, omelettes and an omelette sandwich, all of which were tasty, as was the lemonade mint crushed ice drink. Emma was excellent in taking our order and making the food as well as following up to make sure everything was good. We ate at one of two inside tables because it was chilly in the morning, but in warmer times sidewalk eating will be perfect. By the time we left at 10A the outside tables were almost filled. Like Arnold, we’ll be back!

What a great place that the valley definitely needs! Great breakfast and lunch spot… Super tasty and traditional food, great shady/sunny(depends on your preference) outdoor patio, affordable, and great, courteous service. Really really really really really recommend this place. I will be back for my traditional Sunday brunch!
