I got a croquette, good but the center was slightly cold. The tonouyu(?) ramen is a good vegetarian choice, the soup is perfectly salty.

My coworker has been wanting to come to this place for a while now, so we came on a Friday when they are open for lunch. She’s been wanting to try the bacon ramen bowl, she liked it but by the end the flavor was so rich in her mouth, she had to give in and waive the white flag. I tried the dipping noodles and got the«Tetsu Max». It’s pretty good, noodles are served cold(not ice cold, more room temperature) for you to dip into the pretty flavorful spicy broth, good amount of bamboo shoots, some shredded pork and seaweed. Comes with 2 fishcakes as well. Good amount of noodles so I was pretty full afterwards. Egg noodles was pretty ok, standard egg noodles I’ve had in many other dishes. It appears they make their own noodles as there is a noodle making machine with flour up front. Service was fine, wasn’t too busy so we got what we needed. Overall, it was a fine lunch. Menu is pretty big so a lot of options to choose. Location is on Broadway E in Cap Hill, only a few blocks from the new Link light rail station so it’s super easy to get to from downtown during lunch.

This is the first place I ever had authentic ramen, so it has nostalgic value. But more than that, it’s still my favorite ramen place for the flavor. The broth is rich and perfect. They also have low carb konnyaku noodles, which is perfect for me since I’m diabetic. I would recommend the miso ramen or the tetsu max dipping ramen. Also, you have to try their karaage(fried chicken)!

The Broadway location is awesome! Perfect spot for lunch. Aaron, who works the register, is always very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. This spot should not close it is my favorite lunch spot, I just wish the hours were more consistent…

I am so disappointed by this visit. After I placed the order, I saw 2 flies hanging right in front of my table. When I asked the staff if they can get rid of it, they simply said Nope. Really??? Well, I figured I can ignored the flies cuz it’s about 3 feet away and start eating my noodles. I had Spicy Miso. It’s tasteless, oily, not spicy and all. I had my punch card with 7 stamps on it but I decided not to get it this time. Because I WONTBEBACK.

Just spent the last 35 minutes waiting on noodles and broth. Still no food… This new batch of employees have the personality of a cocktail napkin and the young lady with the purple hair has an attitude that doesn’t belong in food service. I work in a restaurant that can cook a well done inch and a half thick steak with many more tables than this store and food only takes 12 – 15 min tops. This is just pathetic. UPDATE:WALKEDOUTOFTHISESTABLISHMENT! At 920 pm being greeted at the door and them telling you zero dine in, and take out service only is not the best idea. The store was completely empty, and they claimed they are short staffed. Again as a member of the service industry I would never turn down a person wanting to dine in. Alerting the guests of longer wait times is the route to go. The most prominent restauranteur in New York has stated«Never turn down a sale.» So an empty store and forcing people to take out only when they walked 10 minutes to get to your location is never a good idea. In the ten min walk home the food won’t be as hot and is why I dine in. It’s been six months since I came to this place and it seems that you really don’t care that your guests are being turned away. GOODLUCKWITHTHAT…

Never seen such unpopular ramen place in the US ever. I decided to test for a reason. Everything is wrong. Too expensive base ramen, toppings are overpriced and portion is surprisingly tiny. This server guy confirmed that gyoza is not prepared in-house but shipped in frozen somewhere. Don’t take ramen business lightly just because you see successful ones everywhere. This place is a culmination of those«let’s make quick bucks» mentality with no thought through plan. Cheap table, chairs, cheap everything including the taste. They don’t deserve to charge legitimate ramen price at all. Impeccable FAIL.

Do not order take out from this restaurant! The ramen was mediocre at best, but even less excusable was the THREEHOUR waiting time! We ordered lunch for 6 people last Sunday at 1pm. Was told it would be a 90-minute wait. A little long, but we did order a lot of food. An hour later we got a call saying they’re really busy or something, so it’ll be another hour. They asked if we still wanted the order. At this point we were already invested, and figured that ordering from anywhere else would just restart the waiting queue, so we felt forced to commit to this place. (This is a perfect illustration of the Sunk Cost Fallacy — I wish I had the rational state of mind and mental fortitude to realize it at the time, but I must have been momentarily insane with hunger. Would have been way better to just cancel the order and call somewhere else!) Somehow, two hours became three hours, and finally at 4pm we got a call saying the driver just left with our food. When the food finally arrived, we realized that they were not labeled or grouped with any kind of sensible system. We had to carefully inspect the contents of each container to try and match up each dish with the right owner. At this point we’d been waiting for 3+ hours and were beyond starved. You’d think that kind of appetite could make anything taste good, right? WRONG. I got the Spicy Miso with pork broth with a side of Samurai Armor(extra toppings). The broth was cluttered with seasonings to the point where it was unpleasantly gritty and yet somehow was still BLAND. How is that even possible? The pork belly was dry and tough. The only thing that tasted good was the soft boiled eggs. I usually love ramen and tend to eat a lot of it, which is why I ordered the extra toppings, but I actually ended up throwing away about 1⁄3 of my noodles and 2 slices of pork. We also ordered some appetizers to share: takoyaki, chicken karaage, and gyoza. These were better tasting than the ramen + toppings. The takoyaki was flavorful with nice contrasting textures between the octopus filing and the dough. The gyoza was crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. The karaage was a bit dry. Overall, I would give the appetizers 3 stars, the ramen 1 star, and the delivery service 0 star.

The ramen was great and so were the takoyaki! It was nice being able to eat in peace without having to deal with any weeaboos up our arses. Cashier seemed a little on edge the night that we came in though.

Since Seattle has«ramen weather» nearly year ’round, I Unilocaled the best Vegan ramen in town. Samurai’s several 3 star-rated locations popped up. We chose Capitol Hill as it seemed to have the best parking situation compared to the cramped International district. They have an awesome happy hour deal that is even valid on weekends! A mere $ 5.95 gets you edamame, appetizer, and beer! Heck, that could almost be a meal for me. Since this is a hipster ramen joint, the beer on tap was legit, and not Japanese Budweiser. We got Vegan Gyoza as an app and they were outstanding! Better than most any I’ve had. My babygirl and I often share our dishes, but I was craving something spicy for the rainy weather. Unfortunately they don’t offer a spicy Vegan bowl as that one uses egg noodles. I asked if they could make a spicy Vegan ramen, to which the waiter replied that they can add chili paste to anything. So I went with the Vegan Tounyu, spicy. When it arrived, the chili paste was on the side. NBD as the kids say. I wasn’t sure how hot it was so I went easy at first. Before I was done, I ended up using the whole ramekin of chili paste, along with several liberal dashes of Cocksauce to get it to the right temp. It was really freaking good. They need to offer this on the menu! It was pretty good before the spiciness but that put it over the top. This was one of the few restaurants in Seattle that I regret that we didn’t make it back to before we had to leave. I don’t think I’ve had better ramen anywhere. LA, or SF. 3 stars my ass! This place rocks! It’s babygirl approved!

Eek! Some thoughts about Samurai Noodle: –Lukewarm, inauthentic ramen with soggy noodles –The shave ice is more like ice boulders with diabeetus syrup than the fine and powdery heaven dust you can get from Hawaii. –I was the only Japanese person in a ramen restaurant(Not a bad thing, but perhaps this is a sign of this shop’s lack of authenticity) Someone else described the ramen here as «prison ramen.» I think that’s an accurate description. If you are craving ramen on the Hill, walk a few blocks down to Kukai! Your stomach will thank you!

VEGANRAMEN! HOLYHECK! THANKYOUSAMURAINOODLE! When it’s raining(especially since Seattle doesn’t see a lot of sun) soup is the cure all to all things gloomy. This was the first thing I wanted when we landed. SOUP! Not just any soup but ramen. Ramen can be found anywhere but how many place can offer vegan ramen? Especially if they serve a chicken and beef version. I would say 1 out of 10 places. Heck in the Bay Area it doesn’t exist. We were lucky to hit happy hour which consist of Edamame, Appetizer and a Drink for $ 5.95. We ended up ordering the Vegan Gyoza(one of the best vegan Gyoza, I’ve ever eaten) and a local beer for my honey. They have 3 vegan ramen options. I went with the Miso Ramen a must order! I would suggest tell them not to add the corn. It changes the taste of the miso. Overall, I would get it again. My honey and I usually share but he wanted something spicy. So he got his own bowl and added some type of paste to the soup that turned it from white to red. It must have not been too spicy because he then added Sriracha, spicy pickled ginger and chili flakes that were on the table. After that, tears started coming down his eyes. Lol. I do like the fact they have water pitchers and condiments on each table. So you don’t have to ask. The service was great. Food came out on time and they checked in on us. I’m ready to go back!

Not too bad but also not too good ramen here. We stopped in because it was the only restaurant open past 10pm on a Sunday night. The place was about half full of late-diners like ourselves, but there were only two guys working. Our server was not only serving all of the tables in the restaurant but he was also helping out in the kitchen as well. The service was quite slow to no fault of our server, but mainly due to the restaurant being understaffed. He was trying his best. Once he got around to taking our order, we were starving so we put in all of our appetizer and ramen orders all at once to avoid another delay. I ordered the special baby clam ramen and my girlfriend ordered the Shouyu Tonkatsu Ramen. The broth was more of a light chicken stock than a deep ramen broth in my baby clam ramen and the broth lacked some depth. The broth was a little richer and fattier in the Shouyu Tonkatsu. It had some good flavor. The noodles were good and chewy but the toppings were also lacking in both bowls. It’s a good late-dinner option and they have a big variety of ramen available instead of just 2 or 3 options you will normally find at the trendy ramen shops, but Samurai Noodles isn’t quite up to par as many other ramen spots in terms of broth and toppings available.

A nicer location than the chinatown one, more spacious and cleaner. The food seems to be about the same both in terms of quality and quantity. It’s still a little over-priced for ramen but is better than most options in the area. The service unfortunately is not as good. Our waitress was pretty clumsy and forgetful, maybe she was just having a bad day. The Tampopo Ramen was just average and honestly I don’t think I’ll order it again. The broth was not very flavorful and the noodles were overcooked. The Vegan Miso Ramen was surprisingly good. I would love to go back here and get my usual order which is the Tonkatsu from Hell with the Samurai Armor and see if it’s the same as it’s counterpart. p. s. They have deals on Amazon Local so look out for those.

I’m pretty picky with my ramen. The noodles need to be the curly kind, cooked firm, not too soft; the egg yolk has to be that perfect soft-boiled consistency; and the broth has to be flavorful without being too salty or fatty. Though I normally prefer tonkotsu, I went on a friend’s recommendation and tried the garlic shoyu. Boom! The garlic shoyu comes with garlicy goodness in a chicken-based broth, and it was super flavorful and delicious without being fatty at all. I got my noodles extra firm, which was probably SLIGHTLY too firm, even for me. But I enjoyed it nonetheless! Egg was perfectly cooked, pork was nice and soft. The service was great; they came to check on us and make sure everything was right. Thumbs up for Samurai!

This ramen place was awesome! My gf and I came here and ordered the garlic flavored egg noodle. I usually don’t like my ramen salty so I asked for less salt in mine. When our ramen came in I thought the salt level was perfect. After a few minutes. The chef came in and let us know that he forgot to adjust the salt content on mine and apologized for his mistake. He kindly offered to adjust the broth again for me. Such great service! The egg noodles that I ordered was perfectly cooked and just how I like it. They have a ton of different flavors so I will definitely come back and check out the other ramen dishes.

Food: 3⁄5 Service: 3⁄5 Ambiance: 3⁄5 Solid 3 star place. We were really craving ramen over the weekend and this is one of the only spots in Cap Hill. They had a pretty decent selection — pork, chicken, miso, soy broths in all sorts of combinations, spicy and non spicy with egg or wheat noodles. They have normal ramen and dipping ramen. Most came with sprouts and a slice of pork belly, plus variants of other toppings depending on what you order. We got the — Takoyaki appetizer: really hot. Be careful. Decent. 6 balls but they’re pretty small. Really one chunk of octopus in the middle. — Spicy miso pork broth ramen with egg noodles and a poached egg: I’m a fan of egg noodle so I subbed my wheat noodles for that. The broth was pretty decent. I feel like the broth is the main component of a good ramen so compared to other places I’ve had, this was definitely on the more Americanized, just go here to satisfy your cravings kind of taste. It tasted mainly salty to me, not really savory, and not very thick. It was still pretty satisfying though on our rainy day with long lines waiting outdoors! And I was full all night long. And I like salty foods so I ended up drinking a lot of the broth anyway. HA.

Samurai is a pretty small, casual ramen shop among the blocks of places to grab a bite at on Broadway in Capitol Hill. The wait for two was about ten minutes on a rainy Sunday afternoon. I got the Tampopo(chicken broth) ramen and it was pretty average. For $ 8.95, it’s not bad compared to other ramen restaurants, but then again this place is more on the casual side, and the quality is just okay. The wavy egg noodles were fresh(you can even see them being made by the window!) and cooked well, and the egg was pretty perfect — my favorite part of the ramen! The slice of pork had too much fat though :/and the broth was just okay — didn’t wow me. Overall, my bowl of ramen was satisfying on a cold, rainy day. but it was just average. I had an Amazon deal so it was only $ 11 for two bowls of ramen(bf got extra noodles with his too) so it was a good value, but I’m not sure I’ll be back paying regular. They also have mochi for $ 1.92 with tax. I got the strawberry red bean one and unfortunately it wasn’t very fresh. The mochi part was borderline not chewy — don’t recommend :/
