My family went in and sat for 10 minutes without any server speaking to us. It was not very busy… We got up and left.

We were in Pike Place looking for a spot for a drink that would allow dogs. This porch allows dogs so in we went. This is a great spot– I love Post Alley. Its also right by Pink Door so it would be a good spot for a pre or post dinner drink. I liked the Canadian 64 here and my friend mentioned his pear cocktail was quite good as well. They also have an awesome cheese plate(I took a photo). Happy hour is 4 – 7 which works out quite well after shopping at the market for me! Good times.

So, we were fooled by the Open Table account into thinking this place was a moderately decent dinner spot. Turns out, it’s a drunken frat party with terrible food and service. We tried to sit at a table for four and were directed to a high top instead. A member of our party has a leg cast on right now, so, that wasn’t the greatest place for us to sit, but, in hindsight, it turned out to be for the best. Stay tuned. So, we order drinks. They take a long time to come out. We don’t think much of it. We order food. Our food comes — cold. Our drinks our empty. No one checks on our food. No one brings us additional drinks. We notice the waitress is now behind the bar chatting up people — not bar tending, just chatting up people. At our point of desperation of thirst we decide to go to the bar to order more drinks… then things get worse. A group of people CARRIEDIN a drunk girl. Yes, this«restaurant» let that person in. Not sure whether or not they served her, but, soon after this happened, she puked all over the restaurant. Thus, the already inattentive waitstaff had a whole new host of problems on their hands. Oh…and drunk girl got dragged out of the restaurant… right to the chair in front of the window… in front of our table… to continue puking. Lovely dining scene. Eventually we found someone to print our bill and ended up leaving a grossly huge tip because there was no one to make change for us. You’re welcome.

Went here for the first time for our office Holiday Party on a Tuesday afternoon. Okay, first, the positives: Venue is kinda cool, a little dark, but I imagine it would be fun during a busier time of the week. Service was also pretty solid(we had a cute, slim brunette with a few tattoos, and I think drink prices seemed pretty fair, even though the happy hour drink menu(a handful of beers) was pretty small. The reason why this place doesn’t get a solid four stars is because half of my love for happy hours is devoted to the quality of food offered, and I was generally underwhelmed at Post. First, I ordered a roasted red pepper and goat cheese pizza($ 7.50), and added chicken($ 1) to it. The pizza was a smaller, personal-size pizza, which was fine, but it was a little dry, had a little too much goat cheese, and not enough chicken. I’ll be honest, it reminded me of an expensive microwave pizza. My friend had the«happy pork tacos», which, simply put, she said were«not happy at all». I had a bite and I agreed. Though the portion was standard/fair, the pork itself was very bland, and the tacos were served with sweet chili sauce instead of salsa, which I found unusual. The last dish I tried was the devil chicken«wings» or «nuggets». 5 stars for flavor, cuz they were well-seasoned and slightly spicy, as promised, and came with a clean dipping sauce. But I was a little sketched out about what part of the chicken I was eating. They were the boniest pieces I had ever TRIED to eat. We didn’t even finish the serving because there was more bone to navigate around than there was real chicken on the bone.(And, to clarify, they weren’t just like annoyingly small chicken wings — that would have been tolerable — they had some seriously weird bones in there.) Anyway, if I was in the area, I’d be open to grab a drink or two there, but I’ll fill my belly with food elsewhere.

You know, I used to think pretty highly of this place but it has seriously gone downhill. I’m starting to wonder if all the reviews are about the same server. Not only did she forget our waters three times, but she snatched the book with our checks in it before I could write her in a tip(not that she was at ALL getting one) and guess what? SHEWROTEINHEROWN. Thanks Post, for the credit card fraud. Also, I spoke with the bartender about how terrible our service was, and tipped her because she initially brought us our drinks and doesn’t deserve to be screwed over because of someone else. Being a former bartender and server myself, It takes a LOT for me not to tip someone but this girl was just utterly horrible. Still waiting on a response from management about the fraudulent charges but unless they get rid of the trash, I won’t be going here again. There are plenty of WAAAAAAAY better places in Seattle where they don’t steal your money.

Barbie needs customer service training badly. I wanted to show a friend from out of town this pub. Their menu online looked really good and that’s why I chose this location. A group of us arrived at the restaurant, found a table, and sat down. Everyone ordered drinks. Sarah(Barbie) came back with everyone’s drink except mine. I thought because her tray was full she was going to come back with my drink but she forgot. I told my friends I didn’t want a drink anymore. One of them insisted that I still get one. 30 minutes(yes, 30 freakin minutes) later she comes back to check on us. My friend reminded her that she forgot. She apologized but it was a fake apology; fake like her hair and personality. Avoid this place at all costs if customer service is important to you. The 1 star reviews on this pub says it all. The party’s at Alibi room, Blarney Stone or Owl’n Thistle.

A couple of my friends went there last weekend and the service was horrible. The place wasn’t full(maybe around 4 tables and a few at the bar) but the waitress didn’t come to check if we needed more drinks or food. The first time she came, we ordered 4 drinks & she forgets one. Lacking some serious professionalism. After getting us the drinks, she didn’t come by for over ½ hour. She and the other waitresses were hanging around the cash register and talking the entire time. Periodically we see guests at other tables looking for their server. Did I mention the $ 5+ drinks is service included? Apparently not at this place.

People watch and drink beer/wine here only. Go elsewhere for happy hour nibbles. I’m still, days later disappointed I did not speak up about the sad caprese salad and crab cakes I got :(Just a shame to have some a killer location in Post Alley and serve such ugly, tasteless, over-priced food. Still kicking myself: P ouch.(see my pics posted and you make the call)

Happy hour is awesome — great prices for good food and drinks. Although the day we visited it seemed like a conference had just gotten done and everyone decided to converge here at Post. I believe I saw the occupancy sign said max was at about 90 people… Yet I would estimate there was about 150 people in there standing around drinking. You literally had to push and shove your way thru if you needed to get to the bathroom. Luckily we were able to snag a table near the door. Our waitress did a good job considering what she was working with. We ordered a burger from their main menu and the hummus plate and chicken curry from their HH menu and a couple of drinks. The hummus and curry was great… but the burger was dry and tasteless. I would definitely come back and try more things from their menu.

I’ve been here a bunch but last night was by far the worst experience I’ve had at any bar in Seattle. It look over 2 hours to get food because our server kept forgetting to put the order in, I asked for a Sprite that I never received, and once the food came it was burnt! Then I got my bill and it was for shrimp fettucine – I ordered chicken pizza so I pointed it out and the server had a hard time figuring out how to fix the transaction so she said she ended up paying for it herself and gave me the food for free. I don’t mind paying for a pizza and normally their chicken pesto pizza is delicious – but I expect better service and accuracy. I understand that it was the owners birthday and Patrick is amazing but please do better Post or I’ll be sending friends and my business elsewhere!

I bought a TIPPR voucher for Post a while back and realized it would be expiring soon. It was a long day of classes and the restaurant was near my school, so I convinced my husband to go there for a late dinner. Hmm. Big mistake. I should have just let the voucher expired. We went to Post around 9:30 p.m. at night, so the restaurant was pretty empty. The food was edible but certainly nothing to write home about. The biggest reason I gave it a one star is due to the service. Though they initially provided okay service(not great but not terrible) at the beginning, it completely changed when I presented my TIPPR voucher. The bartender looked at the voucher and told me he has never seen it before. He then proceeded to tell me that they have done deals with Groupon and Amazon but not at TIPPR and has no idea where I got it from. Basically, he was implying I was«faking» the voucher. Oh right. I must have nothing better to do with my time but make fraudulent vouchers to redeem at your crappy restaurant. At this point I just looked at him and asked if he was joking with me. I mean, why else would he be so offensive, right? He responded no and took my voucher back with him and made an oh so important phone call. He then came back and told me, «It is legitimate.» At which point he gave me the check and walked away. Wow, that was customer service of the year. Thanks for the apology, I’m so glad you care about your patrons… Overall, how he handled the voucher redemption was unacceptable. If you are going to be part of these deal buying sites, stay on top of it! Don’t treat your customers like liars and thieves just because you lost track of the deals you signed up for. It’s YOUR job, not mine. That’s all I have to say.

It makes me sad to read that things(service, apparently) have gone so downhill here at Post, seeing as how they were one of my more well-liked happy hour establishments in Seattle. I semi-frequented this place over my two years in Seattle(also where I first hung out with our beloved CM Katy H too, if memory serves), and while I was never a huge fan of their drinks, their happy hour food was surprisingly good, albeit lacking in some fashion(the pig tacos and beef sliders were too dry, the crab cakes were a bit too salty, etc). But, for their fries alone, I came here time and time again: their sweet potato fries, tasty, sure, but their truffle fries? Amazing, and probably my favorite in the city. And while they don’t allow pets inside, Chris T and I showed up with her feisty pug Butter in tow once, and were allowed to sit at one of their tables outside. Heck, they even brought out blankets for us to use when they noticed we were freezing out butts off in the wintery Seattle weather!

Post is okay. I went here for beers and thought it was just fine. Service was nice. We also shared sweet potato fries. I thought the fries were just okay. They needed more seasoning and/or salt but there was no salt shaker in sight. Fries were $ 5 for a small basket. We only ate half of them between us. Not sure if I’d go out of my way to go back, especially with other(better) choices in the area.

At Post. Bought a Groupon and was so excited to try out this restaurant near our beloved Pike Market. Salty food. Cold food. $ 15 «Herbed Chicken» dinner = rice, cold corn on the cob, plus one dry as the dessert chicken leg. Thankfully a Groupon and Im not out too much $. Will NEVER recommend or come here again. Atmosphere was okay if you are looking for a cocktail near the Market.

I was beyond disappointed that our TIPPR voucher was not only not accepted after I paid for it but that Patrick, the owner, was onsite and didn’t even come out to discuss it with us. We have been loyal patrons and gone to Post about a dozen times but the way we were treated and Andrew’s indifference to our mistreatment left so much to be desired that I am sure I can find somewhere else to spend my money. I paid, in advance, for food and drink at their establishment, and then the owner couldn’t even come out and talk to us? Inexcusable.

I picked up a Amazon Local(their version of Groupon) deal for Post recently. I’d heard good things so I was excited to check it out. Sadly, the experience was a let down. Positives — The food was really good. We had drinks and few small plates(fried goat cheese salad, house salad, crab cakes, and Manny’s Ale battered onion rings) and we enjoyed all of them. Negatives — Our waitress seemed disinterested and wasn’t very attentive. The waiter who took our bill with the Amazon Local deal stood at our table for a long time looking it over line by line like we were trying to pull something over on them, making us feel extremely awkward in the process. The yummy food was canceled out almost entirely by what seemed to be a pervasive weirdness going on internally among the staff. Not a good first experience for new customers.

No, this is NOT Kell’s. They’re pretty close, and the Post sign is kinda hard to see, so it’s an easy mistake. What can I possibly say to make you understand how happy my mouth and belly are after eating here? I don’t know if there are words in english, or any other language for that matter. Their truffle fries are amazing, and their onion rings are perfect. The happy hour is fabulous, and I highly recommend getting one of their pizzas. My favorite is the goat cheese and red peppers. Post = happy mouth & belly. The end.

Post’s happy hour is pricier than the Pink Door(which is just a few feet away), but the happy hour menu here is larger. Similarly, the happy hour wines were more expensive by the glass but were vintages from France and south America, rather than generic«house wine» which is usually code for«cheap from California.» Service was polite and reasonably fast but lacked the personal touch. I loved the truffle fries. The crab cakes looked good but lacked flavor(frozen crab meat, I suspect). Normally I like to see crab cakes with little or no filler, but in this case some Italian bread crumbs might have added some much needed seasoning. I would recommend Post, but not for the food, the service, or the prices; the alley outdoor seating was way charming and on a sunny day a table with a view of the water is hard to beat in Seattle.

What. How have I never ventured down this area of Pike Place before? Went to the Pink Door back in high school but places like the Tea Room and White Horse Trading Company? Had no idea they existed. Mind equals blown. I digress. Post had a lot of potential, a small but intimate pub/restaurant hybrid, they had a tasty looking online menu and were willing to accommodate 8 of us at 8 pm on a Friday night. The waitress was attentive but almost TOO much so. After repeatedly saying we were waiting for the rest of our party to arrive to order, she asked us about 4 times if we were ready to order, needed more time or were waiting. Beer selection is nothing too memorable, $ 6 wells and some random cocktail drinks with the mojito and pear concoctions being too watery. The food was a hit & miss as well. They had a spicy chicken dish with chutney which was tasty but pretty small. Sweet potato fries and truffle fries were alright but I’ve had better of both versions. The fish and chips were pretty disappointing with the batter being a bit doughy and not crisply fried. Food aside, there was a basketball game going on so fans were cheering at the bar decked out in their team colors, a ridiculously loud birthday party of 4 ladies were screaming every part of their conversation at the table next to us and then the DJ came in at 9:30 pm to set up his sound system. Needless to say, it felt a bit like a zoo and perhaps not the best place to have a good conversation over a relaxed birthday dinner.

I went to Post for the first time yesterday, persuaded by positive reviews on a certain website. I have to say, I was not impressed. This place just kinda seems like another tourist trap to me. Unimpressive food and slow service. Happy hour prices were decent, nothing spectacular. I opted for the Prime Rib(?) sandwich, a sort of sad version of a french dip. I was trying to decide between the lamb sliders or prime rib, the waiter told me that both came with lettuce, tomato, veggies, you know, no such luck. I guess the guy hadn’t learned the menu? Not a big deal though… On the other hand, my vegetarian girlfriend ordered the mushroom and pesto pizza, and the waiter asked us to remind him of her order, but still brought the chicken pizza out for her. I suppose we should have sent it back, but we were pretty lackadaisical about it at this point. We ordered some of the artichoke and jalapeño dip, tasty, except for the pita that tasted like it had been sitting for weeks. Totally stale, not tasty in the least bit. On top of all of this, the Hoegaarden I ordered was almost warm, strange… Our waiter left in the middle of serving us without a word, never to return. I understand needing to leave or whatever, but I think it’s common courtesy to at least let your customers know that you are no longer serving them and a new waiter will be coming to help you. Again, no such luck. I definitely wouldn’t go back to Post unless I was right in the area and had a spare couple bucks for a warm beer. No thanks. Thanks for listening.
