This place is now closed. It has been for a few weeks now. Rumor in the ‘hood is that a new catering place will take over the space.

Turn out the lights… Sad to report, this place is no longer. The lights have been out for a couple of months now, and the number is disconnected. Total shame as the pizza was decent and the delivery quick. My guess, they got crushed by the flying, mix tape master squirrel joint down the street. RIP Pizza from Paradize.

WOOHOO! I can get pizza delivered to my South Beacon Hill home and it isn’t Pizza Hut and it isn’t Domino’s. It’s independent pizza! And the prices are reasonable and the toppings are fresh and the service is good! This is a good day.

I’ll start with the disclaimer that if I didn’t live so far from Palermo’s now, I wouldn’t even be writing this(I feel a bit guilty for cheating on my pizza boyfriend). Anyway, we ordered Pizza from Paradize for delivery for the first time last night. Now, you might think that we’re lazy, because we live literally less than 2 blocks from the place, but Heroes was about to start, and we don’t have fancy things like DVRs or VCRs.(Besides, the guy who answered the phone said he totally understood.) The pizza was exactly on time(meeting the promised 25 minutes from call-end to door-knock), which is a bonus since most places say they’ll get you your pie in a half hour, but what they mean is 45 minutes-ish. However, the pizza itself was just OK. This doesn’t mean that I won’t be ordering from them again; on the contrary, they’re the closest place to us, and it was good enough and cheap enough to guarantee that we’ll be ordering again when the mood for decent cheap pizza hits us and we don’t feel like driving to Capitol Hill. Nicely done, Pizza from Paradize.

Here’s why I love Pizza from Paradize: Although they took over from the old owners well over a year ago, they still have a «New Ownership» banner hanging over their door. And, «New Ownership» is in GIANT letters, while«Pizza from Paradize» is in tiny ones. I find this funny. I tease, but it is with affection, because I do have only good things to say about them. They are located just up the road a piece from our house and we’ve enjoyed their pizza on several occasions. They deliver to our door, which pretty much no else does(and no else that I want to does). Their pizza is tasty and significantly cheaper than you’ll pay elsewhere. Delivery is always timely and the drivers are friendly. I’m glad they are in my neighborhood.

Convenient to Seward Park– a great break from the generic chains. The sauce and crust are excellent. The toppings on our pizza were just right– so maybe they’ve listened to the reviewers who thought they were a bit skimpy. I like the mom and pop atmosphere and the staff– its nice to go to a place where you they might actually care to remember who you are!

I’ve ordered from here a few times, both delivery and take-out. Their crust holds up well but is pretty bland once you get to the edge of the slice, but their sauce is really good. What ruins the experience for me though is how stingy they are with the toppings. I even ordered(and paid for) double toppings once and still counted only 3 – 4 of each topping per slice(on a large!). I don’t know if this is part of their business plan or just the«style» of pizza they make, but when I order pizza I want to taste toppings, not just cheese and sauce. Fix that and I’ll be a happy, and regular, customer. For now my delivery business is going to Tino’s in Rainier Beach.

We’re so happy to have new option in pizza delivery in Mt. Baker/Seward Park neighborhood. We ordered their XL16″ pie with three toppings and it was about $ 18 delivered. Tangy sauce as a previous reviewer said, but delicious, with a definite taste of almost a concentrated garlic oil, so if you are not a big fan of garlic you may want to make a special request(although I don’t know if it’s premixed in their sauce). some of their toppings that are different than the norm around here: Artichoke Hearts, Sundried Tomatoes, Spinach. Nice brick oven blackened taste on crust. We will definitely become regular delivery customers.

Given the limited delivery options in the area, this place gets the job done. I’ve ordered from here twice and the delivery has been within 30 minutes both times. They have a really nice crust, tangy sauce and good quality toppings. They have yet to dissapoint.

I just moved in to the Seward Park neighborhood and have been trying as many local spots as possible. We were very hungover and wanted pizza delivered, even though we’re a block away. We had ham and mushrooms. The toppings were light, but the sauce and crust were great. This isn’t gourmet pizza, but as far as neighborhood delivery is concerned this place wins. The pizza was also delivered in under 20 minutes. I’m removing a star only for the lightness of the toppings. If they improve in that area in our next visits I’ll give them a 5. Also they are closed on Sundays and during the week at 9pm, so don’t count on them for late night munchies.

I really appreciate having this little pizza place in my neighborhood, Seward Park. Although the ownership has changed about 3 times in the last 6 years(formerly Pizza Rio, then Pizza Ria), the menu has stayed consist for the most part and they always have my order ready to go in 30 minute or less with a smile. I’d rate their pizza about a 7 out of 10 and can say that it’s WAAAY better than other delivery/take out pizza such as Dominos or Pizza Hut. They have a good selection of veggie topings and their prices are reasonable. My only complaint, they are closed Sundays, which is unfortunate.

I was craving a slice of pizza, and decided to give the new pizza place down the street in our little Seward Park neighborhood a shot. Pizza from Paradize replaces Pizza Ria that used to be in this location. They are so brand new that their menus don’t yet quite reflect what they offer, the décor of the place hasn’t quite been worked out. This feels like a mom and pop establishment who needed to get in there and open immediately, and work out the kinks later, unlike a larger chain that may have the luxury to have branding and design provided, and capital to take a month and do interior design, print menus, etc. etc. So I’ll be coming back to see how these folks are doing later; the 3 stars will(hopefully) be adjusted. I knocked off a star for the feeling that things weren’t quite yet worked out. Unfortunately, they don’t offer pizza by the slice(or at least not yet), and that’s the reason for the other star, so I went for a lunch special: basically a deli sandwich with potato chips, a can of soda, and a pickle. It took a few minutes, I spent the time reading a magazine at a little bar along the side wall. The fellow who took my order was a friendly guy. I should have paid more attention to preparation — they grilled my pastrami and my bread for me(they did ask first), put fresh lettuce, tomato, held the onions for me. I love mustard, and there was plenty there, as well as mayo(all condiment preferences were asked for beforehand, none of this was a surprise). The outcome? A nice, warm, freshly made sandwich that was very tasty. Ingredients tasted and looked fresh. The chips are chips, I’m not a huge fan of chips myself but I crunched a few. Pickle was fresh. Lunch special cost $ 7.99, a wee bit pricey, but it did taste good. I’ll give this place a try for pizza one of these evenings, and keep an eye out on how they wind up defining themselves…
