I come here often with my girlfriend and we love it here. The price and the food are exceptional but a star has been knocked off because the service could be better. The broth is super flavorful and the noodles are al dente, the meat is ok(a little dry) but other than that i’m addicted. The atmosphere is nice, they play drake a lot and have a cute mural on all the walls. In comparison to the cheaper alternative down the street Than Brothers, it’s 10 times better and not much more expensive. Also in comparison to the«High end» Ba Bar across from Seattle University, which is a lot more expensive it stacks up well. The service is fast but after they drop off food then check it’s best to pay at the counter because they are slow at coming and picking it up. A recommendation is to come early because we have been refused to be served about an hour to an hour and a half before closing but they offered take out as an alternative.

It was busy when we arrived, but we were seated immediately. After 15 minutes, someone finally came to get our order(Bun and #5 phở). My husband’s bun arrived, but my soup never did. No one ever came to check on us, and we couldn’t flag anyone down. After finishing his bun, my husband went up to the counter to ask about my food. About 5 minutes later my phở arrived. It was terrible. Only ONE piece of meat and the broth was so weak it was tasteless. The noodles were clumped together at the bottom of the bowl. I couldn’t break them apart to eat them.

When says this is the #3 phở restaurant in the nation, and Seattle allegedly has another on the top 10(Phở Bac). It seems it deserves a visit. Well apparently they didn’t include the service — typical ma pa Vietnamese restaurant but maybe worse. I’m not convinced the Phở was better than Phuong Trang in San Diego(Convoy st) but it was good. I had the classic phở with rare beef flank and my daughter the grilled Opel vermicelli with bowl. It was«authentic» and not«diluted» just because it’s on Broadway — the Main Street in downtown Capital Hill. We also had fried egg rolls — these were not good and iceberg lettuce? I mean what Vietnamese person eats egg rolls with iceberg — it’s green leaf lettuce with herbs like cilantro at the minimum. So skip those. We also had coconut juice and(sweetened) soy milk. Overall we had a good meal, but the egg rolls came last and my phở 5′ after my daughter got hers– and we got our drinks after her meal! Like I said worse service than the seemingly acceptable standard. So #3 in the nation … NOT! Try a Vietnamese neighborhood … E.g. Little Saigon in Orange County, Stockton St. In Sacramento etc.

Overall, decent phở for a reasonable price. Their chicken(plus veggies) is great for when you feel under the weather. They also have 4.50 banh MOS(pork is the best) and good Bun. It used to be our absolute go to however lately their service has taken quite a hit. Tonight they brought the wrong fresh rolls to our table then after 30 minutes we had to remind them we didn’t have our phở which they then brought the wrong Phở out. It was good phở but not the service they used to have.

One of my absolute favorite Vietnamese restaurants in the city. I always like the bun tofu– stir fried with lemon grass and rice. This is what I miss when I leave Seattle!

This is one of the Phở places that was rated top 10 in the nation 2 of which were in Seattle. We had already tried the other, Phở Bac, and it was awesome. This place was rated higher so we had high hopes since Phở Bac exceeded our expectations. Our high expectations was the only highlight of this experience. We came here in the morning when they just opened and and they opened late. There was 1 other customer in the place before us. There was only 1 staff to assist. She was the server and possibly the cook as well. She tried her best but took too long. While waiting for our food, another staff came out and started to mop the floor right beside us. Had this not been done the night before? I was able to bypass all this as I’m here for the Phở. Finally the Phở came out, and naturally, I ordered the Phở Xe Lua. I also ordered my usual Café Sua Da which never came out and hadn’t been made. The color of the broth was too light which was not a good sign. It tasted bland. This was a huge disappointment. My kids ordered other dishes and stayed it was subpar. I’m not sure how this restaurant made a top 10 list. Will not be back or recommend. I was so disappointed that I didn’t even take any photos.

There is too much grade inflation on Unilocal.Anything below a 4 is like the kiss of death. It was ok. I would recommend going there if you want phở. I wouldnt take people there from out of town. $ 8 for a reasonable size bowl(technically small) I would give there $ 3 draft beer a 5-star rating though.

Good phở, low prices — and right on Broadway in Capitol Hill. This is a place you’re seated quickly, and the food comes out almost immediately. The broth is tasty, the veggies fresh.

I used to only come here for the phở, but I recently started exploring the rest of their menu and have a new favorite… #34! If you’re not good at pronounication, they have the menu numbered, so you can just the number you want. My new favorite is the Com Thit Tom Nuong(Charbroiled pork & grilled shrimp skewers over rice). It was delicious and something I could eat every week. I’m also a huge fan of their egg rolls. The food would be a solid 4 in my book. The downside to this restaurant is definitely the interior. Aside from the cool mural on the wall, the rest of the restaurant could be summed up as dingy. The floors are beat up, the bathroom is kinda«icky» and the layout of the restaurant could have better function as it pertains to the staff being able to clearly see all tables. The other downside, at times, is the service. It’s always polite, but at times PAINFULLYSLOW! I think their politeness is the only thing that keeps you sane while you wait for your food(unless you order phở which is always ready quickly). I’ve ordered take out and eaten in. I must say I prefer the food in the restaurant. It hits the spot and is really good.

This is the first phở place that could really truly compete with my place back home. The 3.5 stars may be off putting and I’m glad my brother suggested it because I may have skipped over it with the reviews. The walls are painted like a street corner, tons of seating, and they play upbeat music. The music was all R&B and hip hop, again may be off putting to some but I was happy with it. We started off with the tofu spring rolls, they cut them in half so you get 4 pieces, which is awesome because then all of us could try it. Fresh and delicious. Sauce was great. I ordered the small vegetarian phở, with the vegetable broth. It was the perfect size to go with the appetizer. The broth was the perfect amount of salty and full of flavor with lots of veggies. My +1 ordered the Shrimp and Pork Bunh. He said the pork was perfectly cooked and was all around great. We topped it off with a Honeydew Bubble tea– so delicious and not too milky. Great Phở place for the meat eater and vegetarian alike. I’m so happy we came here.

Came here the other day and when the lady brought us the tea, water and cups for tea. There was a dead fly or an unknown food item that was in the cup for tea. This place is dirty. I am NEVER coming here again. If you want used meat that has been recycled from one customer to another(explains the really dried out meat) and want to drink out of dirty dishes, then this is your place to go to.

Pretty good phở. Good enough to keep me coming back on a cold, rainy day. Big windows, ugly interior though. The wait staff could be friendlier. Decent spring rolls. Quite a good sized menu with many Vietnamese drink options. The bun noodle Bowls(vermicelli) are really good. Will hit it up a few more times this winter. The meat tastes real unlike many of the other phở places around here lol.

This is my favorite phở place! Everything is always fresh, they bring you tea the second you sit down and their egg rolls are amazing! They have this special ginger sauce to put in your phở and it does make a difference. The inside of the entire restaurant is painted like a Vietnamese city. The only reason I deducted a star was bc of their service. Most of the time they just stop by to take ur order and drop your check off. They rarely ever check in on you. So make sure you order everything at once!

I have had a lot of phở in my life. Generally speaking, most places are pretty decent, if fungible; you get a broth that’s not particularly strong, and reasonable meat, and good noodles and vegetables, and that’s the end of it. Phở Cyclo blows everyone away, and I am positive that this is the best phở I’ve had in my life. The broth is fragrant and purfumey and complex and layered and subtle and in-your-face and so many other things, all at once. It’s very flavorful and well-spiced; I can definitely pick up coriander and star anise, and I think hints of ginger? It is phở-king excellent.

Been here a handful of times from when I used to live in Seattle and now since I moved back. I’ve never had any issues here, enjoyed their food and has been pretty good each time I visit. Came here for dinner on a weekday, not crowded, just pick a table. I tend to order the the noodle bowls mostly and really only get phở when its pretty cold & rainy out. Got some Fresh Spring Rolls w/shrimp to start off freshly made, veggies still crisp and delicious peanut sauce to accompany. As for my main, I got the #17 bun bowl(grilled pork & shrimp). Maybe I should’ve gotten phở or a rice plate, the bowl was basically the same as like eating a bunch of Fresh Spring Rolls in a bowl without the wrapper… poor dinner decision on my part. But it was still quite delicious! Nicely grilled pork & shrimp, plenty of veg, good amount of noodles and that tasty nuoc mam sauce to pour all over it! Service is ok, not the quickest on bringing out your appetizer before you get your main, so you may eat your app and entrée nearly minutes apart. I think the servers just serve the entire dining room, seems like a different server will take your order, bring out your food, bring your bill, just flag down whomever you see. I’m not a fussy eater, so I dont need a whole lot of attention, so the service doesn’t really bother me. Anyways, pretty much consistent each time I visit: come in, sit down, order, eat, pay, leave.

Favorite phở place I’ve ever been to and I’ve been to many throughout my whole life. The staff is extremely friendly and the service is fast. They also make this ginger special sauce for the phở. I’ve tried a few dishes and I’ve liked them all. Cute little place too.

Great restaurant for to go orders. The phở is great! The broth is flavored well and doesn’t need the hoisin sauce at all. I traditionally like the phở tai(rare steak) & meatball. Their spring rolls just okay– obviously premade and sometimes gummy. The egg rolls are freshly fried and hot. The beef salad is a flavorful healthy alternative. Although their beef is on top of a bed of large lettuce that looks like they just ripped off the stalk without even cutting! The pieces of lettuce was just enormous. My husband is also a fan of their bun(vermicelli noodles). The pork is also cooked thoroughly and well seasoned. The bathrooms are terribly dirty. Graffiti all over the walls and one stall did not even have a toilet paper dispenser. Yuck! I repeat, take it to go!

Beautiful décor with huge mural paintings of Vietnam streets and very friendly polite service. It’s nice that when it’s good weather they open up the windows and doors. Reasonable prices but the phở here is just okay. Plenty of seating inside so there was no wait. The phở actually took awhile to come out which usually doesn’t take too long at other places. I ordered the small #12 phở with rare steak, flank and fatty flank($ 7). The bowl was smaller than I expected and I wasn’t full afterwards. The broth flavor was lacking in my opinion. My boyfriend got the vermicelli noodle bowl with pork and egg roll($ 9). The pork was tender and flavorful and the egg roll was average. I thought the vermicelli dish was better than the phở.

I ordered number 14 or 15, the one with everything in it(hey I’m asian, I eat weird stuff) and told the waiter to substitute rare steak with tofu. He nodded and smiled and said okay. My phở came with nothing but rare steak and tofu. Big deal, right? I’ll just ask for the rest(tendon, tripe, tripe) plus I want extra jalapeño anyway, so I called the waiter then explain and ask… Not until the 3rd waiter did I get my jalapeño, but the rest of my meat only has tripe and tendon in it, no brisket. While other people would just get up and walk away, I maintain composure and enjoy my phở without touching the rare steak. The cherry on top was when I was paying and they try to charge me extra for the rest of the meat I asked for. I was beyond pissed. Luckily the cashier is probably the smartest person working in there, she listened to my rant, understand and took off the extra charge. The food was okay, I still prefer my Than Brothers, but if you’re in Capitol Hill area and just don’t feel like driving or taking bus to U District then I guess you’re stuck with this place.

This place is mostly pretty good. I got some special bowl with all kinds of stuff in it and it was great. Unfortunately, I also ordered some fish cake appetizer and it consisted of three small, dessicated bites of salty boogers and was one of the more expensive appetizer choices. On top of that, it came at the same time as my entrée. This day was particularly warm and sunny so the front doors were open and there was outside seating. It was so nice to sit and watch all the people go by. The restrooms are effing disgusting, with graffiti and filth coating every wall.

Sometimes a dirty Vietnamese restaurant is way better than a clean/fresh new one. This is the case for Phở Cyclo. It’s nothing special inside, but it has good eggrolls and cheap traditional Vietnamese BBQ. I haven’t had the phở, but I’ve had all the rice dishes and they’re surprisingly good. It’s typically pretty busy throughout the day but I think the best time is happy hour. You can usually get a seat easily and have cheap beer/appetizers for like half price. Recommend the Egg Roll, Shrimp Cake, and Lemongrass chicken. Probably all that for under $ 15.

This place is okay. It’s miles better than Than Bros on Broadway, but it’s not as good as Bamboo on 15th. If there are any other phở places within that little area, let me know because I’d be very interested in checking them out! But on to this place — you can get a decent bowl of phở here for a good price. I got a small bowl of phở with everything for $ 8, which seems pretty par for the course here in Seattle. The broth is okay, and the meat quality is good. The tendon melted into the soup the way it’s supposed to, and the rare beef and fatty steak were soft and mild in taste. The people who work here are nice, too! I eat here once every few months, and the other day I forgot my credit card, but the woman just said, «It’s okay!» and didn’t even take me up on my offer to leave my phone as collateral while I ran back home to get my wallet.(I came back 10 minutes later anyway to pay.) All in all, if you just want a quick phở fix, this place can do it for you!

Phở Cyclo is my «go to» phở place in Capitol Hill. And when I worked in Sodo, it was my «go to» phở place down there! Never any complaints. Food always comes out quickly(even during the busy lunch rush), flavors are good, portions are fair, prices are competitive, menu is big enough for everyone. I pretty much order the same things every time I go – beef phở with added veggies and sometimes the fresh shrimp spring rolls. If I’m not craving soup, I’ll go for a vermicelli noodle bowl with pork skewers. NOM. I have never had a bad experience here. Both locations are fairly large, so waiting for a table is unusual, even during the lunch rush. Sometimes I’ll call in an order for pick up, and they never forget the to go sauces or anything. Anytime I’m craving phở, this is where I think of first.

I have loved phở since I was a kid, and so pretty much any phở restaurant gets a positive review from me as long as it doesn’t mess up too much. Phở Cyclo is just another one to add to the list. It’s hard to determine how this restaurant ranks compared to all the other ones, but usually people eat at restaurants not to care about how delicious other places are. Evaluate Phở Cyclo by its own merits, and you’ll probably be happy. I ordered a bowl of phở that took six minutes to arrive. It tasted very good, but there was not a whole lot even though I ordered the largest and most extensive bowl. For $ 12.10, I would like to leave a little fuller, but I’m not going to complain too much about it. The bathroom is clean and the walls are painted with a beautiful picture of what I can only assume to be a Vietnamese street. Yes, this is a nice phở restaurant, but aren’t they all?

Great tasting phở but I wonder about the cleanliness rating of this café. Prior to dining I spun through other reviewer photos and one image stuck in my head — the one of the roach in the food and I thought, «No. That can’t be true. That has to be a one-off.» but having now dined at Phở Cyclo Café, I think the infamous roach incident may actually be more common than anyone would like to know. Though I didn’t have a roach incident, I was handed a to-go container for my leftover phở that had been previously used and was visually dirty. Not wanting to offend anyone, I poured my leftover phở into the container and then dumped it out when I got home. Then I realized that if a to-go container was dirty, then Phở Cyclo’s kitchen is probably also dirty. So that’s the problem I have with Phở Cyclo. They have great phở but the place is a nightmare when it comes to cleanliness(bathrooms are disgusting). I would dine from Phở Cyclo again but as a to-go order and blocking out any thoughts I may have of there being a dirty kitchen. I would not dine in ever again.
