I raided all the way to a caterer kitchen to have my lunch. Smart move so I could have big portioned fresh gourmet for a reasonable cost — most importantly this is the only south african restaurant in Seattle! The owner are wait staffs are nice and hearty — they also have South African red wine on standby!

A really healthy alternative down here in SODO with a great rotating menu. You can order by phone or online and pick up which is as plus as the café is small and sometimes there’s a wait in line. Everything I’ve had there has been a treat.

One quick addition. The Eggplant Parmigiana is amazing! There’s no pasta. The eggplant is sliced thin so it plays the part of the noodles and then there is layer on layer of cheese, tomato sauce and love. I could eat it everyday. It looks like it would be really heavy but the lack of pasta keeps it light and fantastic. Highly recommended.

So nice to have a healthy and delicious option for lunch in the sodo district! I work around the corner and I’m stuck eating garbage most of the time. I will be returning shortly :) thank you

We go here at least 2x per week if not more for lunch! Lots of healthy options, great salads! We often hit up the pizzas and meatball sandwiches! I am a huge fan of the soups(Mexican vegetable, and the tomato lentil) They have an Amazing Staff! Very accommodating and often offer samples of new menu items!!! Thanks On Safari!

One of my favorite lunch spots, period. A group of us come here multiple times a week. Rotating menu, including soups, fresh salads, and some very delicious desserts. Plenty of healthy entrees to choose from, as well. Aisha and Allie are two of the most generous people in the service industry. Guaranteed to be greeted with smile very time you walk in :) Enjoy!

I hadn’t heard about this place until recently, even though I work right near by. Their recent Groupon deal tipped me off, though I didn’t buy it. Went there with some co-workers for lunch about a week ago. It’s a small space, a bit of an afterthought to their catering business, which is fine. The three of us ordered separately, and since I took longer to decide, there was one person between me and my coworkers to order at the counter. One ordered soup, one the ribs(braised beef was sold out). Everything seemed to take a while. They sat with their numbers to wait for their food. The woman in front of me waited to order. She finally got to, then paid with a credit card. The machine ran out of paper, and the girl behind the counter took about 5 minutes to go get a roll and change it. They were still having problems when I ordered, so I decided to pay in cash to make it easier. The girl at the counter wandered around doing various things, even though I was waiting to order and had cash in my hand. At this point my coworker had already received her soup, and I was just ordering. Finally she took my order, then did a few more things, then eventually went to ring me up and had to ask my order again. I wanted to pay cash to make things faster, but so much for that. My total was $ 12.17 or something, so I gave her $ 20 and 17 cents. She couldn’t figure out how to calculate the change from that, so just handed me a bunch of change… ok. So much for cash being easy. Finally sat down with my coworkers who were already done/eating, respectively. Food came out after a bit, and was pretty good. Slightly pricey, but not too bad. All in all, I don’t think I’ll be going back any time soon. They clearly need to sort out their processes and customer service in the café. It may be fairly new, I’m not sure. If you do go, because Sodo is in desperate need for lunch options(especially healthy ones), I highly recommend calling ahead and giving them ample time.
