Masala of India Cuisine

The food was delicious. The price is right. But why are they so stingy with the naan bread? I thought the waiter was going to cry each time we asked him footer more.

Eat 24, how you fatten me so…
It was rainy and cold and I wanted warm Indian food in my belly so I placed an order with Masala via Eat 24. The chicken goa curry was great, the lamb vindaloo was great, the shahi paneer was great… the naan and puri was great…
The veggie samosas are awesome. Like, I could eat fifty of them and while it would certainly kill me, I would die with a smile on my face. Or looking like I was having a heart-​attack… because it would probably cause me to have a heart-​attack… #WorthIt #EatSamosas

Came here for a quick lunch with my husband and everyone was extremely friendly and the food was delicious. The only thing I wish that they posted if food had dairy in it because so many different ways to create Indian dishes. The lunch buffet was the best option especially on a short lunch. Easy to walk to and very clean. 10.99 $ for lunch buffet is a steal !

Very disappointing. Slow and distracted service. Drinks with no detectable alcohol. And food without good flavor. This dinner experience fell very short of expectations. Perhaps most interesting (not in a good way) was the Indian pickle, which was an inedible affair with poor texture and flavor. Also interesting (again, not in a good way) was that the only time the staff seemed to be timely was in laying down the bill and picking up the payment.

I went in with coworkers for lunch. The buffet is a good deal. The Naan are fresh. I just wish they would have the waiters come ask if there is anything else we need. But I would recommend this place.

I quite enjoyed the buffet recently.
I felt it was good value, had a broad selection of items, and seemed fresh and tasty. As others have said, the service can be a bit lacking. For it being a quick lunch– I’m OK with scant service. I would come back again. The tandoori chicken was moist and delicious.

I love dining here at Masala! The owners and staff are very polite and treats you like a family :) The food is outstanding! My favorites are buttered chicken, garlic naan, tandoori chicken, and their rice I can eat it by itself?! The servers are attentive to your needs and come by often to refill ice water and collect empty plates. No need to experience Indian food elsewhere because Masala set a very high standard for my taste bud! Must try their lunch hour ^_^

Stopped in with a friend — Wasn’t very crowded for a Tuesday night although the service was a little slow for being so slow. Ordered the Butter Chicken (my first time ordering) with rice and a Garlic Naan– The Butter Chicken was DELICIOUS! I recently had surgery and can only eat small amounts and each time I microwaved my leftovers (for two days after) I swear it got yummier… Ordered a Marsala Mango martini also. That was yummy and strong!
The Garlic Naan was perfect and I REALLY loved the mint sauce! It was perfect and a tad spicy in which I loved! I can’t wait to go back. They have some Groupon specials (24 hours in advance purchase though FYI) and some Unilocal coupons I will use for takeout in the future. FOR SURE!

Masala was absolutely delicious! We had the chicken naan, shrimp curry and lamb specialty, each one tasted great! We were a little skeptical after reading a couple Unilocal reviews that the service was poor but we had excellent service, all of the servers were extremely polite and attentive! I would definitely recommend this restaurant.

Of the MANY Indian restaurants we have tried, none compare to Masala.
The food is DELICIOUS (no matter who I take there with me loves it as much as I do). Our favorite dishes: Chicken Goa Curry, Saag Aloo, Mater Paneer

I am giving this place a 1 star due to their horrible customer service! I have ate there numerous times and food always takes a super long time, more than 30min wait, and to get water takes over 15−20min! Their food is good but not worth it. I finally decided to Unilocal because of my experience tonight!
First off, because of the horrible customer service I stopped going to the restaurant and started to order online through Unilocal 24.
I ordered a month ago on Unilocal 24 and it said food will be delivered between 30−45min. We ordered 3 appetizers and 4 entrees. An hour had passed and still no show of our delivery. I contacted the restaurant and they said «Oh we are sorry but we are busy tonight, it will be another 15−20min» mind you, my family and I are starving at this point hoping food would be there within 45min, we couldn’t cancel our order because the delivery driver already had it out. So we waited for our food and literally took an hour and 27min to get delivered to us. I called the restaurant and no discount was offered due to their error.
And now today 12÷22÷15, I decided to order through them again. Once again, we ordered and this is over $ 100 worth of food! We ordered fried chicken, basmati rice, garlic naan, plain naan, calamari, ceasar salad, mixed grill, butter fish, chicken tikka masala, and papri chat. It said it would take 30−45min. We ordered at 6:33pm and it’s now 8:04pm and we still don’t have our food. I contacted the restaurant 3 times until I finally got to speak to someone, he said they are really busy tonight and it should be there another 15−20min, he wouldn’t even give me a discount… he apologized but rushed to hang up with me. IF I KNEW IT WOULD TAKE THIS LONG, I WOULD HAVE ORDERED THROUGH ANOTHER RESTAURANT.
Fool me once, shame on you… fool me twice, shame on me! LESSON LEARNED!
Their food is good, but totally not worth all this wait and horrible customer service.
Also, I have contacted Unilocal 24 support regarding this issue. They are very helpful and said will give me $ 7 off (isn’t much but it’s something) contact Unilocal 24 SUPPORT if you have any issues!

Tried this place out. Foot is pretty decent. Chicken tikka is good with the naan. Restaurant is clean and staff is pretty friendly.

This is one of my favorite places to fix my Indian food cravings.
My recent visit, however, left a bad taste in my mouth. We ordered two curry dishes and a naan. Although we had naan, the small bowl of basmati rice that came with the entire order of food was simply not enough. It was about 4−5″ in diameter and 2″ in height. Any average guy could easily finish that. We asked for more rice, thinking that it would be complimentary. You see, we had visited the restaurant less than a month prior and asked for the second portion of rice as well. That time, the second portion was half full. We were NOT charged for it. However, in our latest visit, we got the full portion. We were pleasantly surprised. Well, until we saw the check, that is. We were charged $ 2+ (don’t remember the exact figure). I was definitely bummed. I feel like they should have asked told us.
I’ve been to a lot of Indian restaurants in Seattle and normally they are pretty generous with rice. I’ve been out of the country for a while… but has that changed? Do they all cut down the portion and charge people for extra rice now?
Does this mean we won’t be going back? No. We still love the food. Probably not going to visit as often though.

Really good food. Buffet at lunch is very popular. Running Unilocal coupon! Good place to take your family for healthy Indian.

First time here and won’t be back. Food wasn’t bad but nothing memorable. Other reviews are right though the service sucked. Only 2 other tables and kept having to ask for drink refills. Anyone looking for Indian food should just save their time and money and head to Saffron grill, not even ½ mile down the road, happy hour every day, and they give you unlimited drink refills without asking

I have really seen this restaurant grow over the past 10 years. From their smaller space to this well furnished and modern location, I have frequented Masala of India Cuisine for several years, for dine in and take out.
Their prices have risen but are still quite reasonable, especially for the buffet. They do a good job balancing their appeal to American and South Asian diners.

The food is pretty good, and I really like the décor/​ambiance of Masala better than most other Indian restaraunts in the area. My husband and I frequent Masala because overall it’s a great restaurant. Also, their happy hour menu is pretty great!

Went here for the lunch buffet a few weeks ago and sampled the fare. I must say the only other time I have eaten here was before the new building so the new digs are really nice. The food was hot and had good flavor. The staff was very nice and friendly. Very clean and tidy. They keep a good selection of hot food out even at 1:30 when I was there. I have had a lot better but I also have had a lot worse and would come here again for good not great buffet.

Worst customer service I have ever experienced! Came in with my mom to try the buffet, as soon as we walked in we were given dirty looks by the waitress we ignored it as you can’t judge someone by the way they look at you necessarily. The male waitress were nice they said hello and sat us. The female waitress came to our table and tosses the utensils on the table and we ask her a simple question, «is the food halal?» She responds «ya» and she tries to walk off we then stop her and ask can we get menus? Or how much is the buffet, she says «$ 9.00» she then turns around and says all Indian buffets are halal. No bitch they are not!!!
Me and my mom walk over to the buffet and she stands there staring at us, arms crossed. I’m here now and believe she is going to hear it from me.
They didn’t ask us what we wanted to drink. Still waiting to cuss her out.
Ok so I just checked out, went to pay and put «0» for a tip as large as I could on the receipt and told her personally that shitty service doesn’t deserve a tip, and made it clear that we will never return! Then the table behind us says «I hear ya! We’ve been waiting around for water for 15 min and there are only 5 customers and 4 waiters! What’s with you people!?» I gave him a high five. I guess it wasn’t just us. Also the food is disgusting! To be fair I am not biggest fan of Indian food but this place was disgusting, the rice was stale, the bread had a bleach after taste. The only Indian food I will ever eat is from Clay Pit they have great food and good service.

OMG, this place is good!
Butter chicken is served in individual little tea-​candle heated dishes.
Spice is right, and the rice is tasty.
Before the food arrived, they served up a complimentary crisp spiced cracker-​thingy (I don’t know the name off the top of my head, but it was good).
And the naan.
OMG the naan.
SO MANY CHOICES!
I got the garlic basil naan, but I’d totally the others if they’re of the quality of the garlic basil.
It’s worth a stop. :-D
OH! And the butter chicken, rice, and naan all reheat well 24 hours later. :-D

I really wish 0 stars were an option.
We ordered Chicken Tikka Masala, Lamb Goa, and Naan for delivery. We eat a lot of Indian food and have ordered from most places in the area. I can definitively say this is the WORST option available by far. The Chicken Tikka Masala tasted like rubbery frozen chicken in a sauce of watered down Ragu. There was definitely no cream in the dish.
To make matters worse, my husband called them to let them know how dissatisfied we were and they didn’t seem too surprised or phased by our complaint. They asked us if we’d give them another try and he asked if they’d give us a reason to — i.e. refund our money or give us a credit for next time. Not interested.
Needless to say we won’t be giving them another try. Head to Bengal Tiger or Taste of India instead. Their food is infinitely better and they actually care about their food quality.

Located in an convenient location, this is a great Indian spot in the Northgate area! The restaurant is big and clean. Love the dim lighting and designs. Very similar to Saffron Grill down the street.
We ordered a couple of curries and the combination plate. Presentation of food was great and the butter fish was good! Usually I order butter chicken but I was craving fish. The fish was tender and the curry was flavorful and not overly heavy.
Service was efficient and polite. I would go back again for dinner!
