Matt and Liz are the best people when coming here. I can’t live without them and their chicken wings! I NEED all of it in my life.

This is a wonderful place. The first thing you need to understand is that Marco Polo is a dive bar. It’s a nice dive bar, but be prepared for a dive bar. They sell pull tabs. That’s all you really need to know. The place is really set up as a sports bar with large TVs all over the establishment for easy viewing of any game that happens to be televised. It’s a great place to go to enjoy your football game. If the game you want isn’t on they are happy to switch it on for you too. The main thing I love about Marco polo is that, in my opinion, they sell the best fried chicken in the city of Seattle. Seriously. They have some special process where they pressure cook the chicken in a fryer. They also have a special relationship with their chicken vendor, so it’s very high-quality chicken. The have a standard three piece option. I get it with a side salad which is always very fresh and delicious also. In general, the food here is way above dive bar level in quality, but the fried chicken is all-city league. They serve it with a side sauce basket with numerous condiments to choose from. Try the orange colored fry sauce stuff. It is SOGOOD with the chicken!!! Do Let the chicken cool off for ten minutes before you try to eat it though. Do that for sure. The service here is always really friendly and prompt. The servers are really high quality. It seems they have a very stable group of servers who really know the place well. Very nice. This place earns its five stars from me and I have started to go here even when it’s out of my way, for the chicken.

Had the club for lunch and it was excellent. Service was nice as well. I’d go here more if there was better parking.

Don’t think i’m coming back here, waitress took at least 30 minutes to come to us, the food took an hour and the place wasn’t even busy. The chicken and gizzards from shell station at Georgetown tasted better than this.

Love the chicken, the dark ale & great friendly service. OMG it can be really loud, so be prepared. Easy enough to drive to, but having an ale presents a safe driving issue.

Have been here many times and the food has always been good. The first time I was there I had the chicken dinner, but was really not all that impressed — good, but I have never ordered it again. Now the chicken WINGS are a different story! I prefer no sauce of any kind on mine, and they are the best chicken wings I can ever remember eating. The BLT is excellent also(lots of tasty bacon), and have also had a burger(do not remember which one) but it was very good too! Staff are great and attentive. Went there today to get some wings, but alas they were closed. So that is my only complaint… LOL

They’re hella juicy, and the buffalo sauce is formidable. Mah frend’s second order got some pretty good-sized wings. and they’re juicy as frick. 75 cent pool table. random-ass pinball table in the corner. can’t really ask for much more from a divey bar. I came in here on Monday for the cheap wings. the wings were good and the beer was cold! Marco Polo has old Nascar hoods on the ceiling as décor. There are pool tables and a bunch of tv’s for watching games. Definitely a cool spot.

Stopped by to grab some of the fried chicken for takeout. It was a Thursday evening and the bar was moderately busy. They had a nice fireplace table to enjoy the succulent morsels of fried chicken. I drove home back to the east side and the chicken was not soggy at all and still hot and crispy. The only downside is It’s a cougar bar(go dawgs!) and the bartender is not attentive.

We had the fried pickles, taquitos, chicken strips, a white russian, the 3 piece fried chicken(to-go) and a Mailbu rum mojito. Everything tasted good, and my daughter went ape shit over the friend chicken I brought home. Apparently the best chicken she’s had in a long time. I don’t why the heck I have never tried a malibu rum mojito. I feel like a moron. I have always been a huge fan of Malibu rum, and a huge fan of mojitos. Last week I put the two together by way of the owner’s recommendation and now I have a new favorite cocktail. I really want to check this place out for karaōke so I will definitely be back soon. I like how this place is such a diverse crowd and if you sit close to the pool tables you can still hear each other just fine. They also played really good music the whole time we were there, 80s RnB.

Not so much on the world famous chicken. Jojo’s were cold and no flavor. Service was slow. No condiments or napkins even brought to the table. No additional service for more drinks either!

I heard this place was pretty good and after trying it I agree. I was out to try the fried chicken and I feel like I had some of the best. It was served hot and very moist. The three piece dinner came with good Jojo potatoes. Beer selection was pretty good as well. We also had the nachos and a fried chicken salad which were good as well. There was a bunny pub crawl going on when we arrived and even with 50 or so bunny eared visitors we still got great service.

Get the fried mushrooms and onion rings. Skip the Jo’s fries. Yes, we ordered the chicken. We’d heard it took awhile to come out because they cook it up fresh. That’s great! It did taste fresh, but it was pretty salty. I just didn’t think it was that special. We live close to a Roscoe’s Chicken and Waffles so maybe I’m spoiled. The waitress had an adorable personality. She was friendly, and helpful. The bar itself seems like a good place to hang out. I really like the race car parts in the back room.

The beer is served cold(frosted glasses), fried chicken and wings are tasty, and the servers are friendly. This is a casual/divey blue collar bar that has lots of TVs, pool tables, a jukebox and pull tabs. The wings are butchered well and are a good size with a slightly spicy breading. They are still pretty juicy after frying and are served with bleu cheese and another spicy sauce. The fried chicken comes with the same breading and is also pretty good, though I still prefer Heaven Sent and Ezells(on Rainier). Go on Mondays for $ 3 pints of Mannys and $.50 wings! –1 star for being a coug bar. lol just kidding… kind of.

I’m sorry to say that I wasn’t a big fan of this place. I realize that it is divey, but despite the fact that the place had only 5 other customers(all drinking at the bar), we spent a ridiculous amount of time just waiting around. It took 10 minutes for the server to even take our order. After that, it took 30 minutes for the appetizer to arrive and then another 10 minutes after that for the chicken to arrive. As for the chicken, it is definitely not greasy, but the meat was incredibly dry. The breading was quite brown and besides tasting almost burnt, there was not much flavor at all. I have no idea if that’s how it’s meant to be, or if they cooked it for too long, but it wasn’t my favorite.

Tonight we had Chicken fest at Marco Polo, and it was a pretty big letdown for me. Not the company, but the restaurant. The waitress(who was very nice and did the best she could while being the only person on the floor) told us that it was much busier than the average Monday, so I will not complain about how slow the service was. The food did take 50 minutes to arrive. Ok that’s it I promise. But my main complaint is about the quality of the food. I have heard how great the chicken is, but it was totally average to me, if not a bit below average. My dinning partners mentioned that the chicken was different, and not as good as usual. The jo-jos that came with them were completely bland, and my deep fried pickles were tasty, but often over-fried, and dripping with oil, like they werent properly drained before they were put in the basket. The HH vodka tonic was a good price, $ 3, but other than for HH, I don’t think I’ll be back.

You can never really expect too much quality from Bar food… as its usually same stuff all deep fried in the same fryer. And perhaps people come there to get drunk to the point all food tastes the same. Marco Polo is an exception to this rule. Nestled in the most unlikely place for a good hang out(Georgetown) a place of industrial companies and a couple of homes on a busy street that many(who don’t know the are) wouldn’t venture around for some good food or drinks. There’s a whole NASCAR stock car right next to the pool table. nice patio seating to enjoy what ever sun Seattle decides to dish at you that day. I can’t say I’ve had the other dishes at MP to compare to anything else as I always get the fried chicken. Its pretty damn delicious. A hidden gem and definitely a worthy competitor to any other place that sells fried chicken. Pressure cooked first, causing the skin to puff up off the meat of the chicken then deep fried to create the perfect crisp texture fried chicken should have while keeping the meat flavorful and juicy. The only reason why they lacked the 5th star despite having such delicious chicken is that its sometimes inconsistent. I’ve been there days where its overly salty and others where its under seasoned. But believe me when I say, when its on… its ON! Also 3 piece meal with choice of side for $ 7.95 is a pretty solid deal when you want to get your grub on.
