Good vibes, attentive bar tenders, and a cool crowd.

It was a chilly night. I was at the end of the bar reading«The Postman Always Rings Twice» — ironically for the second time. The barkeep approached me with a towel draped over his right shoulder. Rubbing his hands together, drying them off after a wash-up, he asked, «What’ll it be, Wes?» I glanced behind him and noticed a small picture hanging behind a bottle of Jim Beam. It was a picture of two children playing in a field. The joyous expressions was something I had not seen for ages. The barkeep, Alan, interrupted my gaze with agitation, «Wes, c’mon now,» he said. I wiped away a tear and asked for a Wild Turkey neat. Was this how my days would continue? Anyway, I got some french fries later and they were killer.

Charming, dark, dive-y bar along airport way! They had two ciders options last time: 2towns bright cider(can and draft) and Crispin(bottle). Bartenders were very nice and attentive, order at the bar in order to get their attention(unless you’re a regular and then you can stay seated!). The atmosphere is very smoking club revamped. Signs and photos hang on the wall, pinballs and a deer hunter game adorn the left side-room, and there is enough seating to accommodate groups of up to 5… Coat hooks on bar, shuffle board, and pool table too! The dim lights allow this to be the ideal small group meeting place or a stop in your Georgetown pub crawl! Prices are moderate and options are nice for beer!

I landed here last night because I didn’t know Brass tacks was closed on Mondays… but it was a fun little stop in a nice divey, comfy fun bar. I did feel like it must be a huge locals crowd since it was almost a record scratch when I walked in all dressed like a workin’ girl(nope not that kind, in a suit jacket and jeans with my big computer bag slung over my shoulder) so that could be why. My glass of wine was a GOOD size pour. overall fun, cozy and good. Staff was nice too…

Out bartender, Annalise was witty and engaging. Definitely the highlight of our visit. The beers are fairly priced and the ambience is comfy; on a Sunday night there were plenty of booths.

The rockstars are drunks and the bartenders are rockstars! This place is fun to go and hang out with your neighbors and watch the tourists. If you like a stiff drink or a shot and a beer and playing FREE pool and Shuffleboard then this place is for you.

Best bar in Seattle — a cross-section of all that is great about Georgetown, great music, peanuts, friendly, great bartenders, perfect atmosphere — I just wish they would bring the Tamale Lady back.

Best bar in Georgetown. Anna Lee? Think that is her name. Dark hair — black glasses — Fastest bartendress ever. Pouring a Guinness with one hand … shaking a cocktail with the other … shutting the lower door with her foot & keeping the conversation going ! Awesome lady. Guinness … that gets the 5th star.

OK, yeah, we had been drinking, and yes, we did bring in a tiny, quiet dog. And yes, there IS a sign on the front door stating no dogs. We simply didn’t see it and we sat down and ordered drinks and food. We were super chill and celebrating a friend’s birthday. The bartender was so RUDE to us! She seemed to be a naturally nasty person. We removed the dog immediately. Keep in mind we’re celebrating a fun birthday. Out of nowhere she told us that we didn’t need to have the attitude, and when one of our party was trying to pay she announced to a customer at the bar that it was kind of a «c%nty night» in reference to us. I mean really? Look, I know it was probably a long night and she was tired, but seriously. We’re super nice people, always, or at least we try to be. Total bummer. We regretted giving this place our business. We got burned.

awww nuts… plenty of em to share there. All you can chuck, beer for 3bux particular trace in the air… Bar Staff is great(restaurant too), sometimes it gets a bit overcrowded but there’s usually a cosy cubby to hide in.

I’ve never eaten here– honestly I saw pics of the food in the reviews, and it was the first time I saw any sign that they sell food. Great neighborhood bar.

Hard to give bars 5 stars ever. Nice little spot! This place is cool! Nice dive in Georgetown which, in itself, becomes a hip place to live even though it is the«least-hip» place to live. But who cares, anyway. this saloon off the road provides weary traveller-by with a pint of their favorite brew. There was quite a mix of people there, though Georgetown still feels wholly blue-collar and some crazy nexus of Seattle that doesn’t really exist. The folks in attendance consisted of a lot of middle-aged folks, or 30-something folks, all chill and unassuming. Seemed like locals. The bar is vast with an array of liquors to select. The taps are plentiful, though I personally didn’t fancy too many of the selections. Lots of the Georgetown brews, as would be expected.

Divey but great service — didn’t get any food here but would go back for some cheap Seattle eats in a Georgetown! Definitely a good spot to grab a beer and some bar food. Huge shuffleboard table and lots of locals hanging out

The atmosphere overall is pretty cozy and dark. I like that there was a variety of both soft and hard seating. Only 6 beers on tap, and the selection was pretty run of the mill. The bathroom… ugh. I hate filthy bathrooms in bars, and this one had garbage overflowing all over the floor(alllll over) and smelled like rotting fish. The graffiti on the walls was less than desirable as well. Other than that, the visit was fine. It was raining really hard that night, and it was nice to get in and get warm.

A few friends of mine and I visited this bar after work. I had heard pretty good things prior to going. Although I didn’t order any food, I was able to sample some of their drink menu. I started with a margarita that tasted like slightly liquor flavored water. I requested no ice and received instead muddled ice cubes in the drink. This might be why it tasted like water. However, when I ordered it a second time no ice, again there was ice! I think the turning point for me is when ordering a shot of great whiskey and, to my ignorant surprise, it too tasted watered down. Maybe I will go again to try their food, but if you like to drink I wouldn’t recommend this place. Nothing but a great view of the young and attractive bartenders.

I’m just going to lay this out there now, and locals can hate me if they want to. This place reminds me of all the good things I loved about Austin, Texas back in the day. Cool atmosphere, nice & yet smart-alecky staff that provides prompt & accurate drink service. Although the staff is perfectly capable of making fancier mixed drinks featuring many liquors, this place is a bit more of a beer & simple cocktail place– and I like it that way. Although not quite a «dive bar»(I love those!) 9lb has the darker atmosphere and more alternative-styled staff that you’d expect from such an establishment. And yet it’s CLEAN. If you enjoy playing pool there’s a decent table, and there’s some booth-style seating for larger groups or a nice little space to get to know a date. All that said, I have seen(and enjoyed) some drama from the patrons here(I have seen no physical altercations so far), so don’t expect a ‘classy’ experience. Again, for this place that’s ok in my book– I’m not coming here for the ritz & glamour– I’m here for a beer, to relax, and perhaps meet & get to know other people or enjoy a date.

I don’t really have the right to review this bar. I have only been here once and the guys I was with were pretty much trendy for going that time. I really enjoyed it though we had a couple of drinks and ate a ton of free peanuts, they just kept bringing more, which reminds me to mention the floor, all peanut shells prob more than an inch thick. I had a great time that time and have been trying to arrange another night out to this place. Georgetown in general has kind of a workaholic ambience and style to it and I would plan a trip with guys from work if I could.

We stopped in for a few drinks. It is a good bar. There is plenty of room for groups or small parties. They have video games in the back and a nice shuffle board table. I started with a Manhattan… this is not the place for a Manhattan. If you want the hard stuff order neat, on the rocks or with some soda. Otherwise get a beer. The music is loud, but not so loud that you can’t carry on with a conversation. The space is filled with old beer advertising swag.

Maybe I only love this place because every time I come I get hammered, but man is this a fun dive. It’s big but not too noisy, laid back, the bartender seems to know everyone who sits at the bar, pitchers are reasonably priced, tables and chairs are in good condition, do I need to keep going? Ok, then yes, as others have mentioned there are video games and shuffleboard. Games are mostly on one one half of the bar, and the other half of the bar(separated by a full wall) is where people who just want to drink seem to hang out. It makes for a cosy vibe, and I appreciate that it keeps the noise down too. Eclectic décor that kinda makes you feel like the owner was buddies with the guys from American Pickers at one point, but hey, isn’t that what Georgetown is all about?
