I found these guys at the Columbia City Sunday Farmers Market. They had a decent selection of flatbreads including some dessert inspiration flat breads that you don’t see very day. It was good but nothing that blew out of the water for me. Prices were decent.

My daughter and I stumbled upon this when I was picking up business cards next door to the bakery. The owner was loading a van with all these amazing pastries and we were in awe. I asked if they were open and she said no she was heading to market. We were able to buy several things with cash and oh how good they were! The strawberry rhubarb crumble was amazing, as was the cream cheese danish. We just moved here and finding gems like this is part of the adventure.

Sweet and cheap, these pretty treats will make your trip to the Broadway Farmers Market worth it! Loved the cannoli and strudel!

I’ve been by here a million times and decided to stop in today for lunch. They mainly do catering and just recently added a dining space. They only had Goulash ready, but it was very tasty. They plan to have more of their menu available for walk ins later in the spring. It’s worth the visit. FYI — this place is no longer in business.

I have been craving good Czech food for years. I was finally able to make it in there for lunch and was not disappointed. The storefront is super small and not particularly nice, but the food won’t disappoint(and that’s all that matters!!). I had the beef goulash and they nailed it. As good as any I had in the Czech Republic. The prices are little high, but when it’s the only Czech place in the Seattle area, I guess I will essentially pay whatever. I’m glad I got to go in and I will definitely return.

Friendly vendor, reasonably-priced. Yum. No hairs in my kolach, ever ;-). As with most traditional pastries, have to eat ‘em while fresh. Shame I can’t eat them any more since going Gluten-free, but maybe soon… Czech language lesson: Praag, their own name for Prague, rhymes closer with flag or nag, and not«vague» or the vowel in «hot».

All of the pastries I’ve tried have been sweet and flaky! We look for Little Prague every time we visit a farmers market.

I’ve been purchasing canoli and strudel from the U district farmers market stand for 2 years. She knows my order and she is the sweetest lady on earth. The canoli are so tender and crispy and I see her pipe the cream into them right before the market opens. I’m a low carb diet person but saturday mornings are when I get to cheat.

Maybe once I actually go to Prague, my reviews of this place will start to drop. But, really who is the competition here in Seattle? Who else makes poppy seed kolach and has Czech staff members doing the cooking? Nobody really. During the Summer months you can find these folks at all the farmer’s markets and the selection is probably best in the U. District, but, the stuff in West Seattle is also good if you arrive early. So… good. I feel no shame in keeping these guys in business…

I was SO excited to see apple strudel at the Ballard Farmer’s Market that I bought two pieces, one for myself and one for my wife. I was NOT so excited when I pulled it away from my mouth after taking a couple of bites and there was a long BLACK hair in it! It was clearly INSIDE the pastry. Both myself and my wife have blonde and red hair. ICK. Photo provided.

This is one of the stands open in the Broadway Farmers Markets which I see when I stroll through. Having grown up eating some awesome home made strudel and pastries, I can never easily pass up the chance to try something which sends me back to being a kid– struedel was made by a friend of my Mom who was a super baker. For $ 3 a slice, this may be seemingly a pricey indulgence, but it’s worth every penny; the love and attention placed into making these goodies is obvious. The apple and poppyseed struedel are both DELISH! If you see these booths at any of the farmers markets in the Seattle area, check them out.

When we go to the West Seattle Farmers’ Market this is our first stop, each and every time. Pastries are flavorful and fresh, and fruit toppings/fillings are awesome! Even went to their store on California Ave a couple of time when we couldn’t make the farmers market. They serve food there. Today’s goulash was wonderful — great color and texture, seasonings just perfect.

I have to get this every time I see it — usually at the Kirkland Wednesday Market. The pastries are very similar to the ones we got in Croatia. She convinced me to get something I didn’t really want but it was SO good! The cream cheese pastry. So good. I also tried a cannoli for the first time and it could be one of the best pastries I’ve ever had. Keep it up ladies!

I have traveled throughout Europe for over 30 years and the pastries and breads are what I miss most once I get back to the states. Little Prague makes some amazing pastries and their Apricot and Apple fillings are fantastic. In addition, the strudel is light and flaky and the other pastries have that wonderful bread like consistency that makes European pastries so good. At $ 3.00 each, these are a bargain, unless you are use to paying a $ 1.00 for lousy donut at the grocery store. Check them out in West Seattle or at a number of Farmer’s Markets during the summer months.

We chose to get a pastry here while shopping at the university district farmers market. I got the raspberry Danish, it was the best I’ve ever had. I also tried some of the apple turnover which was also great. They owners(?) were also very sweet and kind. Their pastries definitely should not be missed!

Dear Madam, you have won me over. Will you marry me? What incredible baked goods. Fresh, flavorful, authentic. An hour after finishing an assortment of your pastries and danishes, I don’t know how I’ll be able to wait until Farmers Market comes again next week! Perhaps a visit to your store is in order.

oh, man. I can still taste the deliciousness of the cheese danish-like pastry I had at the Phinney farmer’s market, half an hour ago. I’m stuffed, but would almost eat another one just to experience again that lemony-cheesy filling on the chewy, not-too-sweet base(not really like a danish, it’s more solid), topped with mildly caramelized sugar and powdered sugar – it had a slight crunch that went wonderfully with the soft filling. I hope they’re at the market again next week – I’ll have to get a few things to see if they are all as good.

Caught Little Prague at the Bellevue Farmers Market. Not sure if the storefront is open or not, but they have a space at numerous farmer markets throughout the week. Selection at the stand consisted of almond croissants, several varieties of strudel and danishes, fruit bars and kolaches. All of their pastries were $ 3 each, which is a bit pricey. Still, I wanted to try what a Czech pastry tasted like. I got a poppy seed kolach and was thinking of getting a couple of other items. That was until I was served my pastry on a single napkin which is not good for traveling. So I just took my kolach to go. If the kolach was any indication, I did not miss much. The filling was okay, but the bread part was stale. Not good. Oh well. Not every bakery I try is going to be amazing. On to the next one!

I used to live in Prague, Czech Republic where I played in a Rock Band and sometimes taught English. I was also a bartender and a DJ. My Czech friends an I would often wander over to the nearest bakery in the middle of the night, just so we could buy the warmest and most amazing Makovy Kolac(Poppy-Seed Pastry). These things would melt in your mouth. About 10 years ago, I discovered this tiny hole-in-the-wall place in West Seattle(near White Center). Being part Czech and fresh from living there and speaking the language for a year, I was delighted to be able to order my favorite pastries once again from a a Czech national. Four things you need to know about this place; 1. The pastries are yummy but not cheap. 2. They are open for lunch but only have one option per day. 3. Sometimes they are closed so call ahead before you make the trip. 4. You can find them at Ballard Market and West Seattle Market from time to time. Seattle needs another good Czech restaurant. We used to have one on 1st and Virginia downtown. Had I known that it would close, I would have eaten there more often!
