Enterprise Rent-A-Car

Update — I have spoken with Dan, the branch manager. He has been truly unhelpful. So far, I have heard that Enterprise prides itself on customer service, but I have yet to see that in action. I was never given any explanation as to why I was not informed of this damage three months ago. I was merely told that there was «nothing we can do». When requesting a picture of whatever this supposed damage was, we received an email that had no attachments.

Protect yourself and go elsewhere!!! The car experience itself seemed good enough. Unfortunately three months later I received a letter in the mail claiming I owed $ 1200 for damages. I returned the car in perfect condition, and before the in time passed which was like 6:00, I believe. Of course, there was nobody there to receive the vehicle, just a drop box for the keys. Being the skeptic that I am, I took pictures of the entire vehicle to protect myself. Legally, because of the fact that on the drop box it states that you are liable until the next morning, I fear that I do not have much of a legal leg to stand on. I have been trying to contact the claims department for some time now with no response. I have also contacted the BBB but have yet to see where that will lead. So, all of this said, unless you plan on sleeping in the car until the next morning you are screwed! Just to add a little context to the story this took place at the downtown location in Seattle, I spoke with D. Jones a manager there who was about as unapologetic and useless as you could possibly be. The damage which I am still waiting to see, is being described as a dent in the back door (probably some jackass kicking the door or something in the middle of the night). Oh and there are no cameras in the garage where you leave the car (convenient). I have never left a Unilocal review in my life but really hope that this will save anyone the hassle that I have awaiting me.

I’ve been an Enterprise customer for years, and my experience at downtown Seattle’s enterprise nearly broke off my years-​long relationship with an otherwise great company.
I found myself at the Burien Enterprise in November in an extremely emotional state: a low-​speed collision in my new car and an uninsured driver (who has since been found at fault for the incident) took out the suspension on my vehicle. My first accident ever, no rental car coverage from my insurance, and no loaner vehicles available from the dealer where I purchased my car…
I was looking at 2+ weeks without a car right before the holidays — a big deal to a single mom like me – and an unaffordable rate offered by the downtown Seattle Enterprise office.
The area manager and all of the staff at the Burien office were so compassionate and helpful, and found me a compact car to rent, much cheaper than the one offered by the downtown Seattle office, and with a truly affordable rate.
When I got my car back, the downtown Seattle office tried to charge me double what the Burien office quoted me, even when I produced the Burien contract. Downtown Seattle simply met me with an air of dismissal, rigid inflexibility, and an attitude of disdain. This was all frustrating – I was ready never to use Enterprise again.
When the area manager of Burien stepped in to adjust the downtown Seattle rate, my faith in Enterprise was restored. It’s offices like Burien (as well as the wonderful West Seattle and Ellensburg branches I’ve used in the past) that clearly understand that in business, a happy customer is a loyal customer, one that remains brand loyal, comes back time and again. The downtown branch would do well to receive some customer service training from the area/​territory managers of the smaller offices; those offices never battle with you, and work to make things right.
After the constant upsetting phone calls between the downtown Seattle office, I was ready to write off Enterprise for good. However, Burien Enterprise, the area manager Dave Baley in particular, and West Seattle Enterprise have restored my faith in such a great company. I will continue using Enterprise — but will avoid the downtown Seattle branch going forward. Sad that this branch tarnishes the reputation of an otherwise stellar company.
Thanks again to everyone in your office, Burien Enterprise, your staff, and especially Dave Bailey. You are wonderful.

The customer service was terrible. The lady with the weird eyebrows was very rude and had a terrible attitude.

Made my reservation a week prior and the entire check out process was hassle free! Drew was extremely professional and courteous. He made sure my information was correct and off we went for the rental. Gave me two options and I was on my way. My expectations are high for my next rental at this location.
I know sometimes renting a car is a hit and miss. I might have been fortunate that day.

If I could give them ZERO star, I would. The worst customer service and the most disrespectful people that I have ever experienced. Those guys were much more friendly, but after my last experience with them, I am so disappointed. I can say they are AWFUL. It is a dirty business like they just want to take your money in any way. I returned the car few minutes late, and they charged me extra money without even telling me. When he gave me a receipt, I noticed that, so I asked. He RUDELY said that I was late, and he wouldn’t get the money back. Then he walked away.
They said,” we treat our customers the way they like to be treated.” However, they do the opposite.

This is the worst car rental company.

Came here from Chicago on a Friday night, and was given the weekend rate. At this location cars start at $ 7.99 for the weekend rate. I got a premium car and the total cost was $ 60 for the weekend. Staff was nice and personable. However, I hate any rental car facility that I have to take a shuttle to.

Had to book a car last minute and Blair was amazing… She made the whole process quick and painless, answered ally questions and in no time I got my rental car within minutes.

From all the rental car companies in the market, this is 1 of our last choice. And, today was no exception. The interior was not cleaned and it needed a cleaning because somebody’s dog apparently made the back seat their home. They said they didn’t have any more cars as all the cars would be returning today. So, you’d think they’d have time to at least vacuum this 1 seeing that there were no other vehicles to clean.

I wasn’t that happy with this rental location. We showed up a little early since they open at 8am on Sundays. We waited out front of the doors and didn’t see one person inside, we started wondering if they were closed when an employee walked up and said we had to go in the building next door and take an elevator down to the parking garage because that office hardly ever gets used. If that were the case then why was there not a sign on the doors of the office and what is the point of even having one on the street if no one ever uses it?
Anyways, not that big of a deal I guess… but then when we reached the parking garage the man behind the counter checking us in yelled to the other employee «We need to higher the rates, we just got 6 reservations in the last hour» … okay thats fine if thats how your business runs but no need to yell that right in front of a customer. (he was nice to us, not rude but that wasn’t the issue)
In the end we were given the car, got in had huge no smoking signs on the dash yet it REEKED of cigarettes. Since we only had it for a few hours and were short on time we took it anyways. luckily the airport location cut our bill in half.

They don’t even clean the cars any more ! Sure, they washed the outside, but there was dirt on the rug in back and footprints on the dash. I asked them to wipe down the dash and they did. After leaving I opened the compartment to plug in the phone and found used gum.
Come on guys you can do better. I also forget that midsize is really a compact car.

Terrible experience! No cars left and I had a reservation. They are giving me a dirty small suv with no gas.

Had to get here by cab because they said their pick up car was backed up. Then when we got here they told us we would have to wait an hour. They charge you if your late; how come they don’t discount when they’re late. good thing we aren’t trying to catch a flight somewhere.

Hmmm… well, not the Enterprise experience I’m accustomed to (and why I chose to rent here).
I rented a full-​size car for 3 days. Pick up was uneventful even if a little bit of effort given the parking garage.
I was given a Chevy Impala, which I guess qualifies as «full size». What irked me to no end was that the car did not have a remote unlock (i.e. alarm key fob thingy) to unlock the car and release the trunk. I actually had to use the key to unlock the driver’s door, and use the trunk release in the car to open the trunk (no key hole for the trunk!) Seriously… every car I’ve had since 1990 has had a remote unlock…25 years later… come on, Chevy (this is not Enterprise’s fault other than having such a crappily equipped car in their fleet).
Why I’m dinging stars… So I got stuck in traffic coming back on day 3. People told me traffic was bad in Seattle, and I should have listened. I was 2 hours and 34 minutes (2:34) late returning the car. Actually, probably more like 2:25, but the couple returning ahead of me chose to argue about returning their car with no gas and not wanting to pay for the tank. So by the time I was scanned in, it was 2:34 over. Enterprise charged me $ 10/​hour for 3 total hours over the 3 day rental charge. I get that they have this policy, but I’d kinda hope for some leniency. Or, if you’re going to charge me, how ’bout rounding down – not up – to the nearest hour? Yeah, it is not much money on a 3-​day rental, but that is my point. Have some empathy for the customer, and/​or err on customer’s behalf. I’m used to Enterprise giving me more value for my money, not less.
End of the day, I paid rack rate for the car, so no screaming deal. Based on that, I wouldn’t be loyal to Enterprise at this location anyway. YMMV.

Worst customer service. Even though they are open till 7 pm, they will not provide you with a pick up at 630 pm because of traffic. I live 10 minutes away, 20 with traffic, and have no mode to get there before they close. The stores reason is they don’t want only one person in the store working while the other is driving.

When I was searching for a car rental for my families vacation in seattle, I was a bit wary of the lack of reviews for this location but decided to give them a chance since it seems that this location is fairly new. The managers really need to work out the kinks to this place because the service that myself and the other parties at this location was extremely dissapointing compared to other enterprise locations out there.
The trip to the office to sign off on paperwork and put down payment information was surprisingly quick. Factoring in the queue and actual service, it was all done in 10 minutes. After that, things started going downhill fast.
First off, management should have atleast 1 experienced representative on the floor. When I was there, they had the experienced guys behind the desk taking care of the paperwork and answering phones. It was obvious that the two guys working the floor and actually giving you the keys are fairly new. One man kept running back and forth between his customers and the office to ask his senior questions. The other rep had absolutely no idea what he was doing.
When he was working with a customer, he had lost the keys to the Chevy the client had decided to rent. Prior to him showing the clientele the car, he had already picked up the keys in their key box. However, once it came to signing off on the car, he discovered that the keys were misplaced. This causes him to walk around absent-​mindedly for literally the next 15 minutes trying to find the keys. During most of that time, he walked around trying to make it look like he was busy. Finally he decided to show the client a different car, whose keys were not misplaced.
After that client was done, this one guy in the queue complains that he was in a rush and needed a car ASAP. So the rep decides to throw the waiting list out the window and service this guy, who was 5 spots away from being next on the list. This caused alot of frustration for the other parties waiting. You would think that a guy who outright states that he is in a hurry, is actually in a hurry. Sadly, this guy is not. While he and the rep are looking at a car, the guy asks what the renting price of the vehicle is. Now, the rep and the customer are taking their sweet time looking at different cars and discussing the prices and specs.
What is the other rep doing during this time? Continuously running back and forth between his 2^nd set of customers and the office to print out paper work.
Now everyone is quite frustrated from having to wait for 45 mins –1hr just to pick up the keys to their rental. After a member of my party outright complained about how terrible the service was, with other groups nodding their heads in agreement, they finally send an experienced guy up to service the next person in line, me.
I kid you not, I recieved the keys to my rental, signed off on the receipt, and was out the door in less than 10 minutes once this rep called me.
Advice to management: have all of the paperwork taken care of in the office and have the new guys shadow the reps that know what their doing. The only plus to this branch was their rental prices were lower than other companies in the area.

Ignored by the staff for 30 minutes.
Got charged for the wrong rental.
Still no refund or adjustment one week later.
No customer service at drop off.
Highly disappointed in a company that prides themself on «excellent customer service». This Downtown Seattle branch ruined it for all branches. I’ve rented from enterprise a handful of times and other branches have been wonderful, perfect, and hassle free.
May 15^th 2015 about 11AM picked up my reservation. One blonde woman at the counter on the phone when we walked in. She was by herself, so we were patient. However, after she hung up the phone, she did not even acknowledge our presence for another 20 minutes. When she did, no eye contact. Just «how can I help you» and proceeded to type. Then, she rudely asked for flight information. We did not have flight information and I have no idea why this bewildered her for the next 10 minutes.
Upon dropping off my reservation, there were 3 of us in line. After about 20 minutes, one agent took all our keys at the same time, said we were good, and printed out receipts. One other lady dropped off the same car and I got charged for her rental. They have to email their accounting to make the adjustment. One week later, still no solution, still out $ 200+ more than I should have been charged.

Quick service, no hassle, good car with a great value — it’s rare you find a car rental spot that doesn’t screw with you in one way, shape or form.
This spot is in an awfully inconvenient location, and yet all the aforementioned things completely make up for it.
What I didn’t care for is the service via the phone — both times I called they seemed a bit quick to end the call instead of actually help, but in person every individual I worked with was on it!

Convenient downtown location and the cars are always clean (that’s basically what you’re paying for. Cheap = looks like someone pooped in the back seat. Expensive = looks like no on pooped in the back seat). Service is fast, pleasant and convenient.
My one complaint is that they’re always trying to «upgrade» you to an SUV for free. There’s a reason why you have a surplus of SUVs and why everyone says no to your creepy upgrade and also why I didn’t book an SUV in the first place. I can’t begin to discuss the disadvantages of driving an SUV, but driving one makes you drive like a total ticking fart bomb. Also, the prices are variable for the same amount of time. It might be 100 for a weekend. It might be 400. You know the price when you try to book, though, so you’re pretty much handshaking with that once you reserve a car. Be that as it may, my political statement of the day is: The car rental industry is so anti consumer, it’s stupid.

Easy to find on the corner of 3^rd and Stewart, Enterprise is definitely the car rental place to go in downtown Seattle!
We wanted to avoid all of the airport fees when renting a vehicle. This place was easy to pick since it was close to our hotel. Upon walking in, we were immediately greeted by Clark and his wonderful associates! He shook our hands with a smile on his face. He quickly pulled up our reservation and we all walked up to the A level where the Enterprise rentals are located.
He explained where to go when returning. He also pointed out their 24 hour drop off box if the offices were closed. Very very convenient! After a few initials and signature, we were on our way.
Enterprise definitely prides their customer service and it surely shows here at this office. Thanks for a wonderful experience!
