GOFOR: THEJEWELS Local gem. Aside from the cool kicks, I’m a huge fan of the locally/regionally sourced jewelry collections from independent designers. Great spot if you’re looking for a unique piece or your visitors want to do some local shopping. Price Range: $ 40 — $ 150

I just absolutely drool over Edie’s. Every season they seem to completely outdo themselves and have even more shoes that I just *HAVE* to have. They also carry some great bags, socks, and a small selection of cosmetics even. I especially love that the staff is always super friendly and they seem to genuinely care that you find a good fit. They’re also not pushy so you don’t feel like you got tricked into buying shoes. There’s no need to go downtown for shoes, Edie’s on the hill has everything you could need or want! See you there!

Unfriendly and uninterested in customers. Stopped in while in the neighborhood on a business trip. Waited patiently for several minutes while she was on the phone. Then without so much as «Hello» or smile, jäger barked a curt«Do you have a question?» Surprised I asked if she carried moleskin and she had no idea what I was talking about. Told me to try a stationary store… Really? Would I be in a shoe store asking for a moleskin notebook?! When I explained it was for blisters from walking or hiking, she immediately became an expert again and dismissively told me to go to a drug store. I am aware that chain drug stores carry moleskin but I thought I’d give my business to a small local merchant shoe store since traditionally that is where you would purchase such an item. I can understand being busy and getting flustered but she had one customer and a phone call, there was no reason for her to be rude.

Yesterday I would’ve give Edie’s five stars, excellent selection, decent prices. but yesterday I wore a pair of not-cheap shoes I bought there for the first time and the shank broke. Squeak, squeak. The shoes are ruined. Just note they will not budge on quality. They don’t care what works, if you have not worn the shoes in two weeks, you are toast. Beware. Wear the shoes immediately when you get home But you know what, the only way to «hear» a broken shank is to wear them, and she won’t take returns for worn shoes. You get caught in a conundrum. Back to Nordstrom!

Great assortment with a range of prices. Most importantly, they have a tolerant young shoe person that was pleasant. Customer service with a smile is rare in so many places but Seattle does pretty well and this place did exceptionally well. I needed shoes for walking and getting around Seattle since my Josef Seibel’s were giving me a blister(yes, it is possible to get a blister from that brand if they are metallic tennis shoes bought just before the trip). Unfortunately the store did not have my size in any of the 3 styles that I was interested in buying. She brought other sizes out just in case and offered up other shoes but my size is just too common, or at least was that day in that store.

My husband and I experienced exceptional customer service here today. I’m making a complete about face on my review — in fact, I didn’t even know it was the same store until later. We were wandering around the hill and found ourselves drawn in by some classic Beatle boots in the window. We were immediately helped by the friendly, patient, knowledgeable and unpretentious owner — my jerky feet are pretty hard to fit. I’m also hella indecisive. It doesn’t help that Edie’s is jam packed from floor to ultra high ceilings with highly affordable comfortable shoes and they have a lot of stock for those of us between sizes(or who use orthotics). Seriously, without hyperbole, it would not surprise me to hear that they have more different and shoe styles than Nordstrom, in both mens and womens. The previous Edie’s location was nothing compared to this space.(You can pull your own size a lot of time, nicely.) It’s chaotic in a pleasant, bohemian way. The focus is flat, resoleable European shoes, boots and sandals — they also have bags, hats, gym shoes, jewelry and even some kids’ shoes. Mostly unique brands. So, so, so affordable. Most places that sell even passable shoes for me and my sore feet idle around $ 200 – 300 to start off and go up from there. The new line of shoes that I ended up fitting into, a British line that can be resoled, was spendy for Edie’s at $ 138. The owner recommended a cobbler. I wavered about the shoes because my feet were hurting that day — I hope my witchy pointed toe black low heel loafers are waiting for me.

They relocated to this larger space. Love their shoe collection. Lots of boots and booties for men & women. Prices aren’t that cheap, but they do have items on sale. Excellent service.
