Not a review — but unless they’ve moved, they’ve gone out of business. There was an eviction notice for lack of rent payment on the door, and now property is empty, with a For Rent sign on it.
Too bad, it was a terrific business under the old owners.

I’d stay away from this place. I am guessing the folks that gave good ratings were friends and family trying to boost their rating.

My husband and I have used Brewer for the past 15 years. They were good before, and they are still as good now. We recently put two saws, two chisels, and a lawnmower in for repair. My husband picked up the mower, and they let him take it without paying. I came later and got the rest and paid for it all. They are honest, competent, hard-​working and very trusting. Good people!

These guys rock! Roger and Mike were so helpful to me. Being a single woman not knowing a darn thing about lawn mowers, etc, this place was recommended to me and I went in. Received personal attention and they were both very informative as to what was wrong with my machine. They told me how long it would be so I didn’t expect next day service. My machine is running wonderfully! Thanks guys!!!

Under ABSOLUTELY NO circumstances should you give this place your business.
Clearly, the other reviews reflect what’s going on here since the new owner took over a couple of years ago. This guy (Roger) has a track record of dishonest business, aweful customer service, and below average quality. Not just from the reviews but I know non-​Yelpers who’ve complained about this place. According to one of the other Unilocal reviews, the owner physically ASSAULTED a customer and told him he was going to «F** him up.» Looks like I got lucky.
Here’s my tattle tale story. I dropped our two-​year old lawn mower off last week to have the old gas replaced because it sat through the winter and the mower had pooped out. Typical stuff. The agreement, when I dropped off the mower, was that Brewer’s would charge me $ 50 for the service assuming it wasn’t anything else significantly wrong. If so, he would call. As suspected, the mower needed fresh gas, and there was nothing else wrong. When I when I asked how much $ I owed him, he stated that the bill would be «about $ 100». I asked for specific details about the up-​charge, and after a short discussion /​debate as to why, and hopefully to find some mutual understanding or middle ground, he instructed me, mid-​sentence: «Here’s what we’re gonna do. I’m going to recycle your lawnmower now and throw away the invoice» *click*. And hung up. I tried calling back to no answer.
No exaggeration. This actually happened; the lawn mower man stole my flippin’ lawn mower! That, or he’s just holding it hostage until he hatches a better plan, I’m a little bamboozled right now and afraid to ask for fear of getting clobbered by the guy.
I’ve been coming to Brewer’s for about 20 years now with nothing but great service and quality work. But when this bozo took over a couple of years ago, it’s been nothing but bad news from what I hear. Our local community deserves better, so please consider whether you want to support this place. In the meantime, I gotta go get me a new Iawn mower.

I walk in to see if they carry a gasket for a pretty common lawnmower carburetor and the person behind the counter asks if I need something repaired. No, I say, I’m just looking to buy the part. He replies saying they don’t sell parts. But it was the way he said it that bothered me. Like I was some clueless idiot to walk into a lawnmower shop and expect that they would sell me a replacement repair part.
Well, good luck staying in business turning down good money. Did you think because you wouldn’t sell me a $ 10 gasket set that I would pay you $ 50 to do the repair?

Updating this review because we used the chainsaw and it did actually work really well and seemed nicely sharpened. We also received a call from the business saying that they had reviewed the invoice and found that we were overcharged and offering a credit. So we are satisfied with the work.

I watched the owner physically assault a customer that asked about a missing bolt on a mower they worked on. Decided it was best to just leave.

Brewer Lawn Mower & Repair Service used to be the only place I trusted to take care of my lawn mower when it needed to be serviced or fixed.
Then they sold their business on July 1^st and the new owners are clueless. I brought my lawn mower into be serviced and have the blade sharpened, but due to the old owners noticing that my throttle cable was almost broken my mower was not serviced until the new owners took over because a new throttle cable had to be ordered. When the new owners repaired my lawn mower, they caused many problems that were not happening when I brought my mower in.
I then brought my mower back in Twice after that to try and have them fix it right. They still could not fix my mower and told me that I would have to spend more money to fix problems that I did not cause. I then took the mower to another repair shop and they were able to fix my mower as best as it could be salvaged and they did not have to replace any parts like brewers told I would have to. ***My advice is to find a different repair shop to take your lawn mower or trimmer.***

Ran in to the shop on my way into work to drop off a couple kitchen knives to be sharpened ($ 4.50 per blade), expecting they’d do a better job than QFC. They normally only sharpen knives on Saturdays, so I was going to come back in the morning to pick them up, but they were able to squeeze me in and do the job right then and there. I was in and out in less than 7 minutes.
All that is great and I’ll definitely bring my knives back for regular servicing, but the real joy of this place is the smell. It’s that intoxicating scent you remember from your dad/uncle/grandpa’s garage — old oil, gas, rubber, metal. All mixed together. It’s the smell of work. The smell of old school two-​stroke internal combustion. British sportscars and Briggs & Stratton. I’m going back just for that smell under the ruse of checking out their used mowers for sale. Thanks, Brewer, for the flood of memories. It was the best $ 9.86 I’ve spent in a long time.

Find another place to fix your mower. These folks (new ownership) are clueless.

After sitting under the deck all winter, our lawn mower didn’t want to start. In fact, it protested so much I broke the pull rope trying to get it turned over. So I rolled it the few blocks from our house to Brewer’s for a little TLC.
Claudia cheerfully greeted me and did a quick inspection of the mower, wrote up the work order, and said she’d give me a call when the mower was ready sometime in the next week.
Only two days later I got the call, and when I picked it up not only did it have a brand new pull rope, the mower’s exterior had been completely cleaned of dirt and grease, with only a few scuffs on the wheels and deck, and rust on the muffler giving any indication that it was a used machine. Claudia reviewed the work summary, rang me up, and had me start it up before I left the shop. Even though it had been sitting for at least three days it started on the first pull. It had never done that before, even when it was brand new.
What can I say? Brewer’s did outstanding work at a very reasonable price ($ 72 after tax) in a very fast time frame, and the customer service exemplary — Claudia was a real joy to deal with. If you need your mower, trimmer, or chainsaw serviced, Brewer’s should be top of your list.
