For some reason my review keeps being removed for being for the wrong business. This was definetly posted for KARAOKE KURT. Here is the original post:
So kinda sucks that I can’t rate this kj less than 1 star cause this sucka stunk like monkey balls. I showed up at 9:45. Its 11 and my friends who were here earlier than I was hadn’t even got up to sing. So this huge group of christian rockers were the only ones allowed to sing. Dude begged my friend to sing some lame ass song, but he hadn’t even got up to sing his first song yet. If I didn’t like the venue, I would’ve left by now, as a matter of fact a couple of friends left to go somewhere where they could sing. If you want to sing, go somewhere else. If it weren’t for the fact that I like Tarasco, I’d go find somewhere else to go cause the only people singing were the effing guys not drinking.

I am only writing this review because I really respect people who create and run their own business. I have been a user of Karaōke Kurt for over a year now but I have been an avid bad karaōke singer since I wore diapers (about a week ago). I have sung karaōke on three continents an even on one very long flight on a 747 on the way to China. I know what makes a good host.
Karaōke Kurt is comprised of several well trained and well paid hosts. They are obviously good with their equipment but their real skill is their patience with customers. I have made Friday night at Tarasco my haunt for the past six months because the hosts are always fair and pleasant. Which is difficult in a room full of drunks all thinking that their wonderful voice will propel them into the arms of that beautiful stranger, but these folks make it all work and they all do it gracefully. I promise. And if you happen to be at Tarasco’s on Friday night say hello to me. I’ll be the chubby but handsome man trying to impress some beautiful stranger.

Kurt is the Wolverine of KJs! If you’re looking for a great karaōke host, this is your guy. I competed in a karaōke competition at Tarasco and Kurt was helpful, supportive, organized, friendly, and professional. The night before the competition, I realized that the song I wanted to sing wasn’t even on the list. I figured I might as well try to request it anyway, so I emailed Kurt… not only did he find, buy, and add the song to the karaōke list, he did it within 2 hours of my request. This guy is the best. Thanks Kurt!

Karaōke Kurt dj’ed a party for the founders of my business — an outdoor party… in the rain … with thunder … and lightening. In spite of the extreme weather conditions, Kurt made it work. The smoke machine is a hilarious touch and the lighting is great. Kurt was on time, responsive to our needs and easy to work with. Would definitely hire him again.

I chose Karaokekurt initially because I wanted to have karaōke at my wedding reception. We paid the deposit and a few months passed and people I talked to said that karaōke at a wedding is dangerous (i.e. people who can’t carry a tune might make for a less than pleasant reception).
I was worried that, because KaraokeKurt seemed to specialize in karaōke, they would not be able to do a «normal» reception with typical wedding/​party music.
There was no need to worry.
I made up a spreadsheet of favorite songs and categorized them according to when I wanted them played (e.g. during cocktail hour, dinner, or dancing) and that was it. I requested a list of instrumental/​classical for dinner, and dance music for later on. I found out that Kurt even purchased many songs on my list (more obscure ones) that he didn’t have already.
At the wedding, Kurt did an amazing job sticking to the playlist, but also adding a few of his own that complemented my specific requests. Even though I can’t recall allowing him to stray from my list, I was glad he did! :) There was an excellent mix of newer dance hits, 80s, and even older classics. He did a great job alternating between old and new, upbeat and a little less upbeat.
There was one instance in which my little sister (a bridesmaid) requested a new Rihanna song that had some inappropriate language. Kurt didn’t have it because it was so new, so he downloaded it on the spot (which was very nice – he didn’t have to). As soon as the first curse word was heard, Kurt smoothly transitioned to a new song so that the young’uns/parents wouldn’t be offended. Very classy!
As soon as the dancing started, there was a large party of dancers at any given time. Never a dull moment – just my kind of party! Several of our guests remarked on how awesome the playlist was, and it was so cool seeing my friends (twenty-​somethings) dancing the night away alongside my older family members (60-​somethings).
Everyone had a blast.
I was just sad that husband pulled me away before the party ended so we could start our honeymoon. :)

We used Kurt for our wedding and it was the best money we’ve ever spent! In addition to spinning some awesome tunes, Kurt and Jeremy were professional and kept the party right on track– while still having a great time.
The pre-​meeting, lighting and music selections were spot on with our tastes and I would highly recommend Karaōke Kurt for your DJ and karaōke-​ing needs.

Kurt was DJ for our company’s event this past week and he was AMAZING!!! The event was hosted at the Garage and Kurt was setup and ready to go prior to our group’s arrival there. Kurt was extremely friendly, played just the right tunes and by the end of the night, our entire group was singing on the top of our lungs and dancing up a storm (some senior leaders were standing on booths singing and dancing, no joke)!
Kurt was professional, clearly experienced, and worked directly with the Garage to arrange his setup and takedown timing — which made things so easy for our planning committee. From a pricepoint standpoint, his rates were extremely reasonable and the billing was straight foward.
Overall, I highly recommend Kurt for any corporate event! Our group could not have been more pleased with his service!!!

Kurt and Jeremy just DJ’d our wedding last weekend. Things couldn’t have gone better. The dance floor was full from beginning to end even with stoppage for first dances, bouquet toss, etc Kurt got the party jumping again right away. He’s also a great MC for the party letting everyone know what was going on and when and all with a great sense of humor. Would HIGHLY recommend him for your event!

Kurt was the DJ for our wedding. We picked him, because we wanted to have karaōke during our wedding. Our ideas for music for the wedding had ranged from just using an iPod to going with some friends of friends who were just starting their DJ business. I can’t tell you how much it was worth it having an experienced, professional DJ like Kurt. When we met with him, he helped us set the schedule and figure out the timing of the day. He kept the day running smoothly and on time, and he also found some obscure songs we had requested, respecting every musical choice we made when we had one, but also possessing a clear vision of what makes good wedding music.
There were two special challenges to our wedding. Kurt and Jeremy had to move their DJ equipment to three places — the remote grove where we got married, the area where we had dinner, and the dance area. They made these transitions with no problem. Secondly, he perfectly DJ’d the karaōke portion, transitioning between dance time and song time with ease.
So glad we used Karaōke Kurt Entertainment for our special day!
