A local gem right on Ocean Ave in Seal Beach Village across from Eisenhower Park and the pier. This is an order at the window sort of permanent«food truck» setup. Super focused, small menu is a good sign. I went with the Ironman(the craziest looking thing on the menu). Sandwiches were made to order and once delivered, we were planning on just eating them there on the benches along the sidewalk. There is no real seating for this place. However, the guy at the window told us to help ourselves to one of the large blankets folded up in a Radio Flyer Wagon in the corner and enjoy our sandwiches on the grass in Eisenhower Park. Awesome! We settled down in the park enjoying views of the beach and pier. Take my first bite into the Ironman, and this flavor is insta-5-stars. Incredible flavors, incredible sauce, fantastic fresh bread. And the dipping sauce it came with was also exquisite, if perhaps too similar to the spicy mustard already on the sandwich(maybe it’s more of an extra sauce type deal than a separate dipping sauce). At the bottom of the paper bag, surprise kettle corn! And really good kettle corn at that. I mean, come on. This place was just too much fun and the food was too good. I was over the moon. Super friendly staff, A+ food, A+ atmosphere. Perfect in every way. Thank you!

Wow. So yummy. I wish I lived closer so I could come back again and again. I ordered the corned beef sandwich and a root beer float. The ratio of each sandwich ingredient is spot on. The flavor is excellent and whatever mustard type sauce came with it was delicious. The texture made it easy to bite through and get an even taste of all the ingredients without anything falling out of the sandwich. The sandwich was everything I hoped it would be and more. Root beer float was solid. It was a warm day and mine didn’t last long. But I enjoyed every sip.

The reviews aren’t wrong! My wife and I were looking for a casual spot to grab lunch and we’re so glad we tried Pierside Press! The sandwiches are the bomb — we had the Corned Beef & Cabbage and the Vegged Out, along with a orangeade. Mmmm… delicious. We got a nice surprise with a bag of goodies that came with the sandwich: popcorn and olives/pickle on a stick and dipping sauce. The customer service was great and the owner offered us a blanket so we could enjoy lunch, a la ‘picnic-style’, at the park across the road. I love seeing small businesses succeed and this place is doing it right! Great food and experience all round — will definitely be back.

Came here about two weeks ago with three others, we each ordered different sandwiches and all enjoyed them! :) I got the muffaletta which I’d definitely recommend, had lots of yummy texture and flavor which is ideal for a sammy. The employee working the window who took our orders was so outgoing and helpful that we’d come back on that basis alone, even if the sandwiches hadn’t been delicious.(but again, they were, so don’t worry!)

By far one of the best sandwich shops I’ve ever had. I have eaten here on many occasions and my favorite part is the consistency. I always know what I’m going to get here. My favorite is the Ocean Ave and the breakfast version of it. The owners are super friendly. If you haven’t tried it do yourself a favor and stop by.

I love getting the lentil salad which is delicious and filling. On a separate occasion I choose the grilled sandwich and it was so tasty and perfect size. The sandwich came with a bit of kettle popcorn which was a nice treat.

the sandwiches themselves earn 5⁄5 stars — they’re delicious, flavorful, and unique. each sandwich comes in at $ 10, with the«ocean avenue»(salmon) sandwich totaling at $ 12. so, they’re a little pricy, but for nearly beach-front grub, that’s the going rate. do try the veggie sandwich – so yummy if you love hummus & greens! and try the orange-ade palmer, it was tangy and refreshing. service was a slower than estimated(15 min. estimate, took about 35 min. to receive food) on a busy warm sunday. however, it was worth the wait!

Cute beach stand with California contemporary salads and sandwiches. I tried the beet salad and completely forgot to take a picture cause I dug in immediately. It looked so delicious! Beet salad was fresh, well varied, and beetastic. You get feta cheese, walnuts, sprouts, beets(duh), and carrots all on a bed of arugula/kale mix. The paired citrus dressing was made in-house. All the ingredients paired well together and the portion was fair for the price. Also tried the Gobbler(turkey sandwich w/cranberries) and it was crispy, savory, and sweet all at once. The pieces of cranberry were fresh and added a fun dimension. Sandwich came with fresh kettle corn and pickles/olive skewer. Service was friendly and earnest. I felt so welcome and cared for. I was offered water and a blanket if I wanted to eat lunch on the beach! Those little touches make this an easy five star place.

The veggie sandwich and Greek lentil salad were amazing. Between three of us, we ordered two veg sandwiches and 1 large salad and were perfectly full. The hummus/tomato pesto combination in the sandwich was perfect, they were stuffed with fresh veggies but still held together, and served in a pressed french roll that wasn’t greasy and oily but nice and dry outside. Yay. The salad was bomb, and they packed the arugula/lettuce and added a generous amount of feta lentil tomato etc topping. When we mixed it all up and split it 3 ways at home, we all thought we were over served the toppings but really the salad was just a perfect balance of greens and other stuff. None of us are sandwich lovers as usually veggie sandwiches are lackluster but this was the shit. And the guy behind the screen was a homie. Yasss.

Awesome place! Sandwich was perfect size, I’m not too full and not hungry anymore. Loved the popcorn and side of pickles! I had the south side, spicy but not too spicy. Bread was soft and warm, ingredients tasted fresh, all in all it was great! Met the owners while I was there. Love supporting great people. Was happy to hear they have a little girl at home and that makes me even more stoked to support! Well done guys! I’ll be coming back for sure!

ALLTHESTARS! I had the veggie sandwich with no mushroom. Whatever tomato pesto /hummus stuff they put on it is the biz! I think this was vegan but not sure about their bread. I never really eat sandwiches because I’m not 22 anymore and carbs are now the enemy — BUT I was hungry and it sounded delish! They’re only open Weds — Sun from 9−3pm so I’m glad I lucked out and made it during an open slot! I can’t wait to come back and try out their grilled cheese. I especially love that this is run by a chef wife and her husband. They seem really happy about their job and it shows in the food made with love! We will be back for sure.

Awww this is the little homey place to come have a wee bit ‘o brekky. I can’t imagine how crowded and awful this place would be on a weekend, but is the righteous spot during the week. Especially like 10am on Tuesday(Club going up…). I got the egg breakfast sandwich which was amazingly amazing and egg-cellent haha. But the Muffaletta… Letta me tell you, that is a MUST try! Oh, the sandwich Gods have smiled upon the unitiated… do not anger the Sandwich Gods! Parking is on the street, but if you go on the aforementioned days and times that I mentioned to you then you shouldn’t have a problem. Pro Tip… when u go there make it a cheat day and walk around the corner to main street and start your own pub crawl of one. Don’t chicken out and say«it’s too early!» Live the Dream!

BESTSANDWICHESEVER. How the heck can a sandwich be THIS good? Fresh ingredients jam packed into each meal, great customer service and perfect beach front location. These people know what they are doing! My personal favorite is the veggie sandwich. Tons of fresh spinach, bell peppers, mushrooms, onions, tofu and delicious sauce. My husband loves the Corned Beef and Cabbage and the Gobbler. Everything is outstanding! Thank you, Pierside Press, for raising the standard on the sandwich.

Well, after I finished my first sandwich I went back and got another one Josh at the front counter was really cool to talk to while I waited for it. Perfect location for lunch while walking on the pier at seal beach and enjoying the surroundings. 5 stars for a reason. They also have a snack menu and a breakfast menu which I will be back for soon.

I usually don’t give 5 stars, but this place definitely earned it! Pros –Right across from the beach! –Cute little place. I love the red and white stripes of the roof –Friendly cashier, maybe the owner? He’s nice and friendly –Not from SoCal and found this on Unilocal and was not disappointed at all –Love the kettle popcorn on the bottom of the bag, it’s like a little healthy dessert :) –Love all the sandwich we tried, yum! Cons –Kind of pricey for a sandwich(update 2−24−16): the price I feel isn’t that pricey because you would pay this price or more at a corporate restaurant!) Day 1: –I got the ironman = yum! Comes with a dip –My bf got the ocean ave Day 2: –I got the muffuletta = yum!!! Love the sauce spread –My bf got the ocean ave again because he loves it! –We also got the fresh squeeze orange and lemon juice which was perfect! Overall I’m not a big fan of sandwiches and I’ve been to like several different sandwich spots, but this by far is the best sandwiches I’ve ever eaten! My bf is a sandwich lover and he loves this place. We both would come back here when we are in SoCal! I also like that the guy remembered us! Haha
