As long as there is a Togos Eatery close by, do not get a sandwich from here. Over priced for what you get. Need to get some more meat on the sandwich. Had the Turkey and Cheese and there was literally two slices of turkey, dry hard bread and all this for like $ 8 + tax. Never again

First time here… OUSTANDING $ 10.00SUB, can’t wait to return. Unilocal said too short… okay«Continues» Approximately 6″ toasted full of yummy lettuce and tomato topped of with roast beef and melted cheese might have had Italian dressing a lil sour taste to it. A fountain drink to complete order. Dr. Sheldon Cooper

I am honestly astounded at the amount of bad reviews on here. Apparently Dave’s should’ve come up to somewhere like LA because the Seal Beach palette seems to only want subs that are made entirely out of meat. 10 dollars for a quality sandwich seems very reasonable to me but a lot of people on here want to compare a family owned and operated business with a huge chain like Subway. I grew up next to the original Dave’s in Ohio and when I found out they opened a store in CA I was overjoyed. I would drive hours for an Incredible Dave. It’s a really unique sub and I think if you’re not expecting it, it might catch you off guard. Yes. They use shredded cheese. Yes the lettuce/tomato etc is on the bottom and the meet is on top. Yes there’s a lot of Dave’s sauce. BUTTHAT’S THEPOINT. That’s what makes this place so great. It’s a messy, amazing, cosmic experience. If you’re looking for a boring, average run of the mill sub with 10 layers of processed meats just stay at Subway. If you’re willing to open yourself up to other options and want a sandwich made with quality products and by real people, try out Dave’s. Honestly I’m praying that Dave’s moves up to LA, I’m so bummed it’s not being appreciated in SB. I’ll try to single-handedly keep this place in business as long as I can!

I have no idea what the bad reviews are about. Every sandwich I have had here has been great-loaded with meat and toppings. Bread is crunchy on the outside and soft inside, sandwiches come with a dill pickle. Love that they have beer on tap, and a good selection at fair prices! Is it cheap? Not exactly, but you get what you pay for. If you want 3 paper thin slices of meat on your sub, go across the street to the huge chain sandwich place and pay $ 2 less-this place is in a different category. Great addition to Seal Beach and I hope they stick around!

I come to this spot often, its pretty far out, man. It’s great for lunch and I have heard mostly good things about the menu. I prefer the cold sandwiches such as the Turkey Dave or Sloppy Dave over the hot sandwiches(although the pizza sub is pretty good), always has great friendly service and short wait time. I would say the only downsides are that the sandwiches could be a challenge to eat also saturated in the Dave’s sauce at times… and don’t get me wrong, the stuff is tasty… Just feel like some of the sandwiches don’t need much of it. Larry the owner is great with the customers, really cares if you enjoy what you order. I can safely say Dave’s has successfully stolen me from my patronage at Subway across the street, given it is a bit pricier but usually meets expectations.

Very good pastrami sandwich, they even gave me a huge side of sauerkraut. Only downfall was that it was skimpy on the meat. I would go back though.

It’s always hard to find gluten free beer on draught. Dave’s has stone delicious ipa! I love being able to do my grocery shopping and grab a beer when I’m done.

I’m really happy that I tried Cosmic Dave’s again. I hate to say it but I wasn’t impressed with the first time I got a sandwich but I came back and got a turkey Dave with avocado and really liked it? Very fresh ingredients. I will bring the wife back again and try a salad and a meatball sub. It’s a great hangover place when you can have a great sandwich and a craft beer. The owner is awesome and you can tell he really cares about his business. I would give 5 stars if they had a soft bread option. Next time I will ask and then update my review.

After a long day, I was heading down Pacific Coast highway and noticed this sandwich shop. I stopped in and was blown away. The customer service from Mary and Jessica was so refreshing. Then I got my sandwich and I was floored. Amazing sandwich. Throw in the classic rock in the background and the fun Decour, I’m definitely coming back.

Great service. Not the best sandwich I’ve ever had, but good. It’s definitely better than Subway. I plan on going back to try their other sandwiches.

The main thing you need to know is that they skimp on ingredients or leave them out and hope you don’t notice — — you’re going to notice.. . you’ll also notice if you leave a poor review, there’ll be two or three friends of the business who’ll write a five star review to counteract your review.

Really overpriced for the sandwhich you get… My hot sandwhich was 10 bucks out the door. I had the club. Not bad, but not good in terms of value. The sandwhiches only come one size. I also think the bread is too hard, and I am a sourdough fan. Go across the parking lot and get one from pavilions.

We were excited to try this new, highly anticipated sandwich shop. The long line and long wait were not totally unexpected, but the lack of enough employees to properly serve the grand opening masses was very dissapointing. Upon ordering our samdwiches, it was made clear to us that the sandwiches on the menu are pre made. Not the bread and condiments, but the types of meat, and substitutions were not allowed. Seeing that this place is in the Pavilions parking lot, and the bakery at Pavilions make great sandwiches any way you like, I think Dave’s Cosmic Subs will need to make some adjustments to survive. Bread is good… but not fantastic. In my humble opinion… Dave’s Cosmic Subs is right in the middle of lots of sandwich places, and would need to really step up their game if they want to be special. Nicks Deli, Subway, Quiznos, Coach’s and more are all within walking distance. All with less of a wait and sandwiches made however you want.

I was really excited for a classic sub shop to open in Seal and to try Dave’s. I loved everything about it: the tie-dye and hippie theme, the service, and all the options… but then I tried a sub. I feel badly giving this place a negative review but I’m from back East and my sub-craving palate was super disappointed in Dave’s product: stale, hard bread, barely any toppings, and the severe lack of actual meat on the sub was just sad. Very lackluster experience and, quite frankly, when I saw the amount of stars this place was getting, I felt like I needed to stop the madness here. Again, the service was wonderful and friendly but the subs made Jersey Mike’s look gourmet.

I’ve been looking forward to eating at Dave’s since their«coming soon» sign went up in Seal Beach last year. I finally made it over for lunch today and was a bit disappointed overall. Fun concept — lots of good sandwich choices and a few salads. Girl at the counter wasn’t too thrilled about being there but was competent. I ordered #1 with no changes — that’s the Original Dave’s Cosmic Sub which is a signature cold sub. It took quite a while to get my food. The person behind me in line got their order, then a long phone order while my sandwich sat waiting on the kitchen counter. I ate at the outside patio which is very nice. The sandwich was very small for the $ 7.95 price. I wasn’t a fan of the crunchy bread/roll. The ingredients were fine and tasted good together. A pickle slice on the side was a nice addition but not much food for the money paid. I’ll try Dave’s one more time but don’t think it will be a regular stop for me. Welcome to CA and I wish you the best.

I expected more from this restaurant, especially after we went over to the place last Friday night(at 7) and they were closed, with a bored-looking guy who just glared at us when we tried to open the locked door. Apparently, they’re open later, but dude straight out just wanted a break. So I ordered a turkey sandwich, thinking that if this place is good enough to have a branch at my alma mater(Hippie center of the universe, Kent, OH). I was disappointed. I was given a $ 3 scoop of cole slaw that tasted a bit overprocessed. The turkey was good, but the avocados were not good and ripe, which ruined the sandwich, in my opinion. Premium price demands premium results. Daves, sadly, misses the mark.

One of the best reubens I’ve ever had. There’s a subtle sweetness in the spread that is a keystone of the whole sandwich. Great rye, great kraut, and terrifically prepared corned beef. A well balanced sandwich where all the single elements complement the whole. I took a bite of the bleu cheese sandwich as well and was impressed by the sweet, acidic vinaigrette. Nice craft beer selection also. I will definitely return to Dave’s to further explore the expansive menu. Great patio seating is another plus.

First time here. Pizza Sub + Pepperoni = $ 8 Good Sub. Not cheap, not steep. Fair price. Soda = $ 2.25, too much. Outdoor dining has lots of tables = 6 and 1 comfy sectional sofa with pillows. Restrooms were clean. Kids working were friendly and happy. Only complaint? Music is inside, the speaker on the patio wasn’t working. Bummer. Good food Great ambiance Friendly service Clean restrooms I’ll return.

Saw this new place in Seal Beach. My girl and I decided to give it a try. So glad we did! Staff was awesome, sandwiches were killer and you can even grab a beer with your sandwich, or a brownee if you’re a sweet tooth. Delicious! Give it a try!

So this place place originated in Ohio and so I brought my Ohio friend to confirm its authenticity… she loved it and says its just like home. Now are the sandwiches good? I’m no sandwich expert, but I know I like these sandwiches! It is not a Subway! Good meat, good cheese and best part the sauce. Which you can buy a bottle of! Oh man, that sauce can be good with a lot of stuff. I got the Dave’s World Famous and its pretty good, but that horseradish sauce completes it. My friend made her own. Turkey, sprouts, swiss and the cosmic sauce. All of that to say a tasty sandwich. Good bread too. Crunchy on the outside and soft center. Now if you’re going for size, you’ll have to order 2. The sub sandwiches are about 6 inches. They also have hot sandwiches which i’ll have to try out.
