John’s Philly Grille

This place does not get the attention that it deserves. The portions are huge, so if you order a whole cheesesteak bring your appetite or be prepared to split it.
The staff is always friendly. I’ve yet to be disappointed by the food or the service.

This place is the bees knees, the cats pajamas, and the dopest dope you’ll ever smoke haha. I eat here once a week.

Such a great spot just a block from the house. Fast service and subs always taste as good as the last one.

This place is the best. I have had «the works» cheesesteak, the regular cheesesteak, and even their cheese fries. All of them were so good. The place is this little gem in Seal Beach.
I live within a mile of the place and love going to it whenever I can. Also, customer service is incredible. They always make it a point to greet you with a smile and do whatever they can to make your visit the best. I’ve gone before a Philadelphia Eagle game on a monday night and the workers and I had a great chat about the game and he was so nice and entertaining.
I even once bought cheesesteaks and fries for my girlfriend and I, but forgot a drink. I went to buy one and the cashier said I could have my drink for free. It was a small gesture, but it showed me that this place really makes it a priority to deliver the best customer service possible. I’ve been to other cheesesteak places, but none did it like John’s Philly Grille.
Their cheesesteaks are bigger, cheaper, and their customer service with secure your loyalty to them.
It’s a really great place with even greater people working there.

This place is a favorite of ours! We always get the same sandwiches: chicken parm for me, the works for my boyfriend. The fries are really good too! Great service and prices.

Outstanding! We stayed at the hotel across the street. This was a great find. So good we went there twice on the same day. Besides the Cheesesteak, the fried zucchini is a must. We told the nice lady at the store we were headed to the beach and she packed it up for us with paper plates. So tasty! I’ll be back again!

They make the Best Pastrami sandwich in Seal Beach.
I also like the Godfather and Veal Parmesan Sándwiches. Yum Good
I don’t really eat french fries… but when I do it’s John’s Philly Grill Steak Fries.

While their food is always delicious, I keep coming back for the customer service! It’s always a great feeling to walk in to a place and the people who work there know you by name and are always happy to see you.

If you want a fantastic cheesesteak you can’t do better than John’s. The staff is always friendly and welcoming and the food is fantastic.

Love this place! The best cheesesteaks in the Long Beach area, and worth the trip if you’re further away. The fries are amazing as well.
One suggestion though: can you guys get on Eat24? If I could get delivery I would order from you guys a lot more often! :)

I know this place well. . I took other people’s recommendations and «The Works» and Steak Fries with a of Italian Ice. . GREAT food … good people

Ok heard so much bout this and ive had sandwiches all over and im a philly fan thru andd thru and the Philly sandwich without the cheese sauce is amazing the hot peppers perfect the heating of the bread which alot of places dont do John philly grill is wroth the ride from long beach ill be back asap

All I have to say is yummy… Amazing food. Curious staff. Gives you the feel of what a real mom and pop sandwich shop should feel like. Anytime were wanting a sandwich we’ll be coming here!

I came in to John’s Philly Grille to try their tuna sandwich. Their menu indicates albacore tuna on either a deli-​style round roll or on a hoagie roll. I chose the smaller round roll to start. The super soft deli roll is larger than the size of a typical hamburger bun, and has a few sesame seeds on the top. I was given the choice to add on any veggies I wanted to my tuna sandwich, so I added onions, pickles, sweet peppers, and a dash of salt and pepper.
The tuna sandwich was absolutely delicious! Not too much mayo in the tuna, and the veggies were super fresh and crisp. And the deli roll was soft and sweet and just the right size. At $ 3.99, it is a great value.
Chips are $ 1.50 for a super small bag, so buyer beware.
The staff was very friendly and very helpful.
I will definitely be back to try some of their other menu items. Next up will be the Turkey Hoagie.

The best Philly from LA to OC without a doubt. If you’ve never tried it with the hot peppers then you’re missing out. High quality bread, meat cooked to perfection, cheese is on point… What more could you ask for. A half is plenty for one person but by the time you finish you’ll have wish you ordered a full sandwich because it’s that good. Don’t forget to order some Philly Fries, delicious steak fries with their own house blend of seasoning.

I read the reviews before trying. In my opinion my cheese steak was delicious. I got the half with onions and hot peppers. The staff was very friendly from the minute I walked in until I walked out. I can’t wait to bring my Dad over here to try one of these sandwiches.

Best Philly cheesesteak. Ever. And the servers are great! Friendly and great customer service. Plus they let my puppy sit in the dining area while I ate my lunch after a run. I love this place. I wish it was closer to the crib!

Ugh. Another philly place, another disappointment. I mean, it’s not the worst sandwich around, but I just want a Whiz Wit. I sound like a broken record. They have American and Provolone for the rest of you, if you’re into that sort of thing.
But don’t fear the Whiz. Embrace it!

Came in today with a group of 9 people to introduce them to JPG. The guy running the cash register was rude and a complete jerk!
The Philly sandwiches were good but we we we’re put off by captain pirate goatee wannabe and his poor customer service skills.
Treating your customers poorly is a great way to get them not to return. There are way too many other options available where you can get good food and good service to go with it.
