Not recommended. Got jumbo shrimp and crab balls. Both were some sort of frozen food from a bag. Shame on serving frozen shrimp from a bag this close to the beach. The fries were ok.

Great service! Food came out quickly and the staff was friendly. The crab balls are a must and i could eat a whole plate of the hush puppies alone. Try out the fried zucchini too. Very crisp and not at all mushy. BTW no AMEX (not a bad thing tho, just bring your VISA.)

Had the steamboat platter. The fish was way to greasy to even know what it taste like. The shrimp was good, along with the crawfish tails were good. The coleslaw had a good taste. The other 3 people I was with said there meals were average. Probably wont try it again.

We wanted a casual, local spot & this is definitely the place. No wait for a party of seven. Good for kids — chicken tenders, mac & cheese, etc. The crab balls were delicious. The blackened grouper sandwich was ok. A little overcooked but seasoned well. No frills, but great for an easy dinner.

Crab Balls were great and the fresh fish stuffed with crab and topped with shrimp was perfect. I had the grouper and my wife had the snapper and both were delicious. Fairly rustic and a little overpriced for the ambiance but still a good value for this area where fresh fish prices tend to be high. If you want great fish and don’t care about the décor, then you won’t be disappointed.

I’ll agree with the other reviewer that the crab balls are definitely worth a try! Good appetizer.
The food itself was just sort of average. I had the stuffed mahi, which for 25 dollars was over priced. The prices were about what I’d expect from a 30A restaurant but it gives off a dive bar atmosphere and is a bit pricey for the quality.
I’d say steamboat is worth a shot, but don’t expect anything extravagant.

Very disappointing and lackluster.
The music is loud, the restaurant was smokey (from the grill) and the service was not good.
For a casual meal it was expensive and not worth it.
We shared the crab balls (from the Unilocal recommendations) and they were boring and greasy.
Just all around– don’t go here.

We went there because of the reviews on Unilocal boy were we pleasantly surprised one of the best meals I’ve had on the golf coast. Fresh raw wasters were delicious and the crab stuffed grouper with blackened shrimp on top was to die for. This was the first night of our trip and were worried it’s going to be the best meal

This place is great for families but do not set your expectations too high. The crab balls are good (like crab cakes). The service and food at our table were lacking the night we went. The rice was Cajun out of a box. The veggies were 90% onions. The rest of our table struggled also. Like I said nothing that as but just average.

Summary: Good place… not fancy… great for families and a well prepared casual meal.
Big fan of this place! Good service and good food. It’s not fancy, it’s like a neighborhood bar-​and-​grill style place that specializes in seafood. They also have some beef/​pork dishes that seem to be Korean influenced.
We’ve had the fish and chips, stuffed grouper, fried grouper, fried shrimp, gumbo and various kids entrees. It was all very good. I have to recommend the stuffed grouper. It was very fresh, delicate, and the butter sauce was awesome (of course). The portions are very large. The prices are much lower than the trendy places on 30-​a. I enjoy those places too.
It seems like the staff are all close friends… they all get along well… and it translates to the service. They are fun, energetic and also good at what they do.
We will be back.

We had a party of five adults and three small children. We ordered blackened mahi mahi, jumbo shrimp, grilled grouper, and crusted grouper meals. The kids ate Mac and cheese and shrimp with French fries. The food was very good and everyone enjoyed their meals. The beer selection is excellent on tap. The servers were great and the live music was awesome. Would definitely eat here again.

Party of three, myself, wife and daughter. Cost 78.00. We had 2 fish and chips and a burger, 2 beers 2 sweet teas. Service was so, so. The food was average at best. Way to expensive for what you get.

I guess this a new restaurant in this same place but I hope it stays here! The food is delicious and the staff is beyond friendly! I’d recommend you try the crab balls — they have more crab meat then most places that just have breading mostly. The waiter joked the whole time with us. I love this place.
