Sunset Grill

They have such an awesome Blues & rock jam on Wednesday nights. Everyone is so friendly, the usuals show up week after week. The bartender is hysterical, and the food is also awesome, like way better than regular bar food. It may look like a typical townie bar from the outside, but it’s worth it.

This is a local bar that has FRIENDLY staff and a kitchen that I have not tried yet. The reason I am writing this is if you like music and a simple drink at an affordable price and don’t want to dress to the 9’s this is the place to go. I have become addicted to the Wednesday Night Jam’s. This is a simple understated local bar that has free music good live music in the middle of the week with no cover charge. it is a come as you are place, great to unwind or spend an evening with a drink and simple fresh food.

I have lived in the Seaford area for almost twenty-​one years of my life but I have never been to this place before until Saturday. From the outside, it looks tiny but when you walk in there are two bars. The crowd here is 40’s and over and some were smoking e-​Cigarettes. Anyway, it was quite crowded as there was a cover band playing on this night. The bar tending service is mediocre at best. I ordered a bay breeze for my significant other and the male bartender just looked at me for a second as if I had asked him for an order of sushi. For a small glass, it was $ 6.50 and the soda was flat. Alcohol selection was limited at best. Speaking of the crowd again, I suppose everyone has learned to say «excuse me» in sign language because more often than not people were just walking in to you like you were not even there. The parking lot has been mentioned before but like what the others say, it is very small and parking on Sunrise Highway is dangerous with cars driving by.

The Sunset Grill is a humble little place where the middle-​aged locals frequent, where they don’t care about impressing any craft-​beer snob, and where you can catch a local band /​cover-​band jam out. It’s nothing special but it does the trick. FYI When a band is playing, there’s a $ 5 cover charge.

A band that I like played here the other night, so I made the schlep out to Seaford. The band was great, but the place? The bartenders were attentive but my Jack and Coke seemed a bit watered down. It was $ 6 which is cheaper than a lot of places so I can’t complain. This isn’t the place to go if you’re looking for micro brews and multi-​ingredient martinis. The food looked decent; a brownie with ice cream dessert looked really good.
Interesting crowd consisted of accountant by day, wearing a t –shirt with a leather vest at night types. Too bad their motorcycle was really a Hyundai. You also get a lot of local yokels which adds to the entertainment value– especially the 50 year old woman with mudflap arms getting her groove on. Boogie on lady… boogie on…

Be warned about parking your car on Sunrise Highway if the lot is full. There are some woods there where drug addicts hang out and break into cars to steal your personal items. I came back to a smashed window once and my radar detector and some other things were missing. I was warned before I left my car there myself and now I am passing that warning on to you!

Good food; attentive but unobtrusive service; and great view. The Grill provided an excellent end to a great summer day by the water. The wait for outside tables can get ridiculous, so opt for an inside table by the windows – same view for a much shorter wait.

This place has been here for a long time — although I never ate in here, the place has a happening late night bar thing going on.
The crowd consists of locals and everyone seems to know everyone else which can be good if you are looking to keep a low profile.
Top it off with live bands and you have a decent bar to hit. The bar staff is excellent and the prices are average.
