Schuylerville Pizza & Pasta

I discovered Schuylerville Pizza & Pasta several years ago — before the fire/​renovation — via a coupon in an Entertainment book. That did the job, because it convinced me to come back here when I could, even though they no longer participate with that coupon. They don’t need to; their food speaks for itself, especially the pizza. They do a Greek-​style pizza with a Greek-​style crust, which I actually prefer. The crust is lighter and crisper. The toppings are very fresh. You definitely get your money’s worth in terms of portions as well, and service is fast. But don’t expect to show up on a «slow» night, because I don’t think they have those. Tuesdays are half-​prize for small and medium cheese pizzas, and there is a pasta special on Wednesday nights. Good luck — and use some patience — getting a parking spot on those nights, as they do a lot of take-​out business.

Schuylerville Pizza and Pasta has reopened after a fire, and it’s even nicer than it was before. The dining room has been expanded and updated, and it seems busier than ever. It’s still my mom’s and my favorite place for pizza in the greater Saratoga region, worth a drive east to Schuylerville. My elderly mom likes to eat pizza in a restaurant setting rather than take-​out, and she’s pretty fussy about what she likes. We both prefer a somewhat crispy, lightly seasoned, bread-​like crust, not too thick (a la deep dish) or underdone-​doughy, with tasty sauce and rich, gooey cheese. The pizza here is exactly the way we like it (definitely not a NY or Long Island style). We recently went on a Friday night, and every table or booth was full. There were quite a few waitresses on hand, so service was fast and friendly. They also do a brisk take-​out business.

So much nicer to go to and have a meal since the remodel. Service is good and the food is excellent. Wait staff I pretty good and attentive. Entrees range from lasagna, stuffed shells, spaghetti and meatballs balls to fish and chips and burgers and more. I had the lasagna, my wife ravioli, my oldest boy had a bacon burger and the two younger kids had chicken tenders and pizza. And yes… They certainly do have pizza. Go on one of the pizza or pasta special nights for discount pricing. They have subs too, but we haven’t tried any yet.

They just reopened after a fire and we were hoping the pizza would have improved like the look of the new and improved dining room. No such luck. We ordered a 24 cut ½ cheese and ½ pepperoni and what we got was a lot of bread. VERY little cheese. The bread is super thick and has no taste. The sauce almost non existent. The pepperoni side had one or two pieces of pepperoni per slice. Really? Just awful and too expensive for what we got. I can get a much better pizza at Price Chopper for half the cost. Such a disappointment. It makes me wonder if the owner tries his own pizza. I don’t think he/​she does. I understand they have to make a profit to pay for all their improvements, but if the food is terrible you lose customers. It’s that simple.

Better than expected, the pizza crust is not for everyone, not think NYC style, more of a thick, bread-​like crust, appeals mostly to kids. Prices very reasonable. Dining room is nice and clean, plenty of seating. I often get backed penne with meatballs, the serving size is huge and it’s very good. Recommended, and will be back (local resident).

Best pizza and pasta in the Saratoga area. We go at least once a week. Reasonable prices, great food, terrific staff!!!

Only pizza game in town. And yes, I know you are there Monument Pizza, but as I just said…
Large pie is 8 big ‘ol slices of cheesy goodness. Place is always hoppin’ on the weekends.
You know what they say, when you visit a town, eat where the locals eat. They will point you to the best in their town for the best price.
