Friends and I made reservations thinking this place would be packed it was dead. Good beer list they had some local ones. We didn’t order any appetizers. My meal was the bison burger with a side of waffle fries, it was cooked perfectly and had a nice flavor to it. Plenty of fries. It wasn’t a bad meal overall. It looked like they were getting ready to play live music. The waitress was friendly and fast. Good enough for me

After six hours on the road, following a very stressful morning(why, oh why, do I always save packing for the last minute?!) we finally reached our destination and went out for a much-needed drink. Our trip to Ireland last summer was probably the best in our 12 years together, so the prospect of an authentic Irish pub was really exciting! Sadly, the atmosphere at The Parting Glass leaves a lot to be desired. It’s certainly old, but in that grimy don’t-look-too-closely way. It’s huge and sprawling, though when we arrived(late Sunday night) also mostly empty, which was a little depressing. The music and televisions were distracting and not authentic at all; in a true pub, the only sound should be laughter and conversation. But all was not lost: our servers had charming Irish accents and offered Smithwick’s on tap, which is pretty rare on this side of the pond. And since we were a little hungry, not having eaten a proper dinner, we ordered a fish and chips to share. Good Lord! It could have fed four, and it was really done correctly — perfectly crispy without being greasy at all. The fish was one giant slab the size of my two hands, end to end, beneath which was a huge basket of chips. It came with tartar sauce, but the batter had been perfectly seasoned and didn’t need a thing more. In the end we left half of it behind, as we were staying in a hotel and reheated fried foods are questionable at best. Still, it was impressive for a $ 12 entrée, and a good reason to return.

I’ve been to this pub quite a few times mostly for beverages. Today, we had lunch and as I used their restroom I noticed a fly infestation in the men’s bathroom. After ordering lunch, I noticed the bartender taking the fly-swatter, that was next to the wIt station, and she swatted a fly in the kitchen. I had a cheeseburger club that the bread crumbled after being toasted and the onion rings were cold. My wife had the fish and chips and was given balsamic vinegar not malt vinegar for her meal. I will have a pint of Guinness at this pub in the future but will refrain from eating any of their menu items.

Was here for lunch a few weeks back. The experience was forgetful to say the least. The food was mostly mediocre. The place prides itself on being authentically Irish, however this couldn’t be further from the truth. The background music was tacky and not even one irish staff member were to be seen.

Pleasant staff. Jovial old haunt. Got a kick out of the back room where the poker game was engaged. Old clippings on the wall everywhere. The chicken wings were fine as light night fare. What can you say? An Irish pub.

We have been going to the Glass for 2 decades. This makes a bad experience even more disappointing. Last month we went to see our favorite band play. Usually you sit a tables so you can have food and beverages served to you. Unfortunately, we could not get our server’s attention and we were ignored until the bill(with our cover charges) came. I chalked it up to a busy night and possibly an inexperienced waitress. This past Saturday we tried again. again we paid the $ 11 each cover charge. We never got to order food(which is ok because it has been terrible lately). We got 2 rounds of drinks before our waitress decided it was better to make out with a guy at that back bar than to do her job. We could see her make out session from our table. But she was too busy to notice our empty glasses. We have spent thousands of $$$$ in this«Irish pub,» but not a dime has been put back into the business. The food is bad, sometimes they serve warm Guinness in plastic cups, the bathrooms will make you want to run home and shower, the service stinks and your shoes stick to the floor. There are better places in Saratoga.

Good for darts and cheap beer. The food is mediocre at best, especially considering what the rest of the town has to offer! But, the place is huge.

Good music and good drinks with clean taps. The menu is rather what one should expect from a joint like this. Decent fish and chips and quality burgers, but stay away from the Irish nachos, they’re just waffle fries with cheese and bacon. If someone from the restaurant happens to read this Irish nachos are potato crisps topped with shepherds pie, just minus the mashed potato. Especially for the price they want for thaose as just an appetizer. Staff was attentive and friendly, though with the music going it was near impossible to hear anyone else. Great show though!

Stopped in while visiting the area. Fantastic food! Their egg battered sandwiches are divine.

Awesome spot we just tried on a whim! Only had the Cajun chicken sandwich and angus burger, but they were delicious. Service was great, love the Irish music and atmosphere.

This is the bar we always go to once the madness of Caroline Street wears off and you actually want to be able to hear the person sitting next to you. Divey and cheap, they have shuffle board and darts in the back. The service sucks and there is no music, but its nice not being pressed into people like at the other bars.

It’s OK. I wouldn’t necessarily come here for the food; I ate here once a couple of years ago and thought the food was below average. One of my friends had a hankering for corned beef last night, so we decided to grab a drink and something Irish-y(to take care of that corned beef craving). Three of us shared the nachos and the mixed basket appetizer(basically all fried stuff: jalapeño poppers, french(irish) fries, mozzarella sticks and onion rings. The onion rings were almost completely burnt, the fries were really greasy and the poppers were just OK. Didn’t try the mozzarella sticks. The nachos were passable. Served with a LOT of sour cream. I was starving, so I ate the very unhealthy mix of appetizers. For dinner, I had the hot open faced turkey sandwich; served with mashed potatoes. Meh. Kinda salty — all of it. The review on the corned beef(Reuben) was«so so» and the other sandwich(can’t remember the name of what he had) was«good». The portions are tremendous. It just doesn’t seem very clean in there. It’s huge — several large rooms all connected… but don’t look too closely at the floor. Or the tables. Or the menus. Service was friendly but not very efficient. There was another really big table there so our food took an exceptionally long time. We weren’t in a huge rush, but the booth that we were sitting in caused one of us to be borderline paralyzed from sitting so long. I’m actually not kidding — she had a muscle spasm from being so uncomfortable. So, the Parting Glass is a great place to throw some darts and meet friends for drinks… or to catch live music once in a while… but I’d just stick to adult beverages and leave the food to the many other options in town.

Always good pints. Great server we sat outside with dog in tow. Brought a water bowl. I love the open face Ruben; however this visit was the first time the corned beef was small crumbly pieces. Get the sweet potato fries! I will be back regardless! Always Irish music playing!

Bison burger! I eat bison burgers everywhere, and this was certainly the best bison burger I have ever ordered at a restaurant. However I take issue with the menu label«buffalo burger». Unless the meat is imported from Africa this is not buffalo, it is bison. Semantics out of the way, this place is awesome and I will continue to come back every time I am in saratoga.

French onion soup was very tasty but it could have been hotter. The fish and chips were good. The waitress forgot to put in my wife’s drink order. I will cut them some slack as they did seem very busy for a Sunday night although a holiday weekend.

Another great pub from my youth. Saratoga is a beautiful and wonderful town. The Glass is a great place to go and relax with friends and family. I have heard plenty of great music there and I recommend the French Onion soup.

Cheesy fake Irish bar. Place looks filthy and I really hope people that go there don’t think that’s what Irish pubs are like.

Understaffed and the server we had was also bartending. Food mediocre. Service worse. She took unfinished drinks from the table. Never came back to see if we wanted another. French onion soup had crunchy onions– yuck. Buffalo chicken salad was boring. My friends had fish and chips and said it was good. Disappointing at best

Came here on a Saturday night and were seated promptly which was a plus because child was about to enter meltdown mode. Unfortunately we found this establishment to be incredibly dirty. Every single high chair they had was coated in grime. 5 baby wipes later chair was still nasty. Menus were sticky. Our burgers came out relatively quickly but waitress was slow to refill drinks and bring check. Burgers were not flavorful. DH did enjoy the $ 5 Duvall though.

In town from Rochester for work and coworker suggested this place. Home run! Had a Guinness and the O’Reilly sandwich. Egg battered and grilled corned beef with Swiss and mustard. Some of the leanest, tastiest corned beef around. Nice dark wood atmosphere and just a satisfying meal. I will always stop here when in town! My coworkers food looked tremendous as well. One got the open faced Reuben and the other got the turkey Reuben. They were very happy! Check out photos! All of the sandwiches were very hearty and delicious. Of course, another Guinness did follow for dessert… I believe it aids digestion.
