Great breakfast. Thumbs up to Eggs Benedict from my son! My omelet was very good and the grilled cheese looked yummy as well. Great find!

The food was pretty good but the service was lackluster. We had to wait about an hour for our food an it only took us 15 min to eat. After that it was difficult to get the waitresses attention when we asked for the check or needed something else. Not the best place but not a bad backup option.

I couldn’t find anything wrong with this place. Great prices, the food was fresh and prepared so well. Everything was home made. Right down to the butter. The staff was friendly. We sat right down(albeit Wednesday morning). Great spot. Some of the more negative reviews are reflecting poorly on how much of a gem this place is. Enjoy!!!

Another day in Saratoga Springs, NY. My Dad and I made plans to go explore the Saratoga National Battlefield and Museum, but first it was time to find some breakfast. We drove down Church Street towards Broadway, and spotted a long-time favorite, The Country Corner Café. In the time that my Dad has lived in Saratoga Springs, they’ve expanded what was once a cozy 19-seat, «home-style eatery» serving locals, tourists and students of Skidmore college into a much larger restaurant and country store. The café is decorated with family antiques and lots of country charm. Both of Roseann’s sons are involved in the business, and Eric, the youngest, is the baker, jam maker and manager. The café is home to a wonderful retail area that features their homemade jams and jellies, local specialty food items, Ida’s Oatmeal Pancake mix, honey and beeswax candles and their own Old Fashioned Butter Cream Fudge. We found a table near the front window overlooking Church Street, and my Dad pounced on a stack of Ida’s original Swedish oatmeal pancakes for his breakfast. I broke with tradition and ordered a veggie omelet which was three eggs, scrambled with spinach, mushrooms, tomato, peppers & onions. That came with wheat toast, and was a very delicious and filling breakfast. The menu has lots of breakfast sandwiches, omelets, Benedicts, traditional eggs with meats, oatmeal, yogurt, fruit bowls, flapjacks, French Toast, cereals, and a la carte items. Our breakfast bill was about $ 15, and that included two juices. Later in the day they serve soups, salads, sandwiches, wraps, grilled sammies & paninis, burgers, and all sorts of add-ons. Once you’re all done with your meal, be sure to check out the retail space. Dad picked up a couple of jars of homemade jams and jellies, and since he was well-behaved, he even took home a piece of their fudge for later in the day. The Country Corner Café is a real homey and casual place to stop in for a meal. The staff is super-friendly, and the food is quite good. Give them a try and see what you think.

This café is off Broadway, so looks like a place where the locals go. The omelette, home fries, and eggs were so good. Strawberry jam is out of this world. Super friendly staff and a warm atmosphere.

I tried the tiny corner diner. The weekend omelet was delicious and cheesy. It was a medium size and very high quality. I found the potatoes a little lacking. They were a wee bit undercooked and bland. The staff was super friendly and awesome! Prepare for a wait on weekends though as the place is quite tiny and gets pretty cramped.

This is probably the best country breakfast I have had in, well, ever, with the friendliest service around town. My sister and I each ordered pancakes– I had the banana pecan and she had the oatmeal. We each split our short stack of two pancakes(each as big as our heads) which was plenty of breakfast for one person. With real maple syrup, these pancakes were divine! Fluffy, light, cakey and sweet(but not too sweet) with just the right balance struck by perfectly cooked, thick slices of premium bacon. It was an indulgence and the perfect start to a blustery winter day!

Very good omelette! The homemade jams are delicious, a must have when you go there. You better make a bathroom stop before going, there isn’t a public restroom there. It is a very small cozy diner. Very satisfied with the service and food.

I appreciate that the owner responded to my post about which day we were there. It was Tuesday, October 6th, 2015, about 10AM. The waitress with the brusque attitude was the younger one. With regard to the food, it was only the pancakes with which we were disappointed. I could tell from the color that they would be different. When cut, the pancakes separated into two layers, like a pita bread. We were expecting a cake-like interior, not a tough one that separates. Due to her concern, we have reconsidered and look forward to trying this place again next time we are in the area.

Absolute Gem! Food was on point. Eggs in my Ranchero were perfectly cooked. The Pumpkin French Toast was the best

We live in Saratoga and Country Café is our go to breakfast place when we are looking for a homey laid-back experience. It’s not pretentious or bougie and some of their wait staff is very friendly. I do think a couple of them could benefit from smiling more often. We have been lucky enough to always get the friendly ones :-) We love all their benedicts and their PB& J monte cristo. Their pancakes aren’t that great so we almost never get them. The best part is their yummy homemade jams. They rotate their flavors too! They also have homemade fudge but I find fudge too sweet so I’ve never tried it. To sum it all up, for a warm, cozy laid back brunch try country café. Oh and I forgot to mention… it’s priced pretty well too unlike most of the other overpriced Broadway establishments.

First visit and was not disappointed. 11 am on a Monday during racing season. Busy and we had a small wait for the café side. Had the special roasted red pepper, bacon, portabella mushroom, and chive cheddar omelet with homefries and sundried tomato scone. And a side of homemade applesauce. Also ordered the banana pecan stack with a side of homemade corned beef hash and wheatberry toast for the homemade strawberry jam and cranberry pomegranate jelly. Everything was amazing!!! The highlights were the very flavorful omelet and scone and the super fresh jam/jelly and applesauce. This is a don’t miss city treasure. It is soooo worth any amount of wait!

Service was terrible, food was average. When my boyfriend and I arrived here for breakfast, we first had no clue whether we should go to the«café» section or the«dining» section. We decided to go with dining and were met by… absolutely no one. No hostess, sign, etc… We looked into where the diners were and a waitress walked by. After ignoring us for a few minutes, she said to put our names on the board and they would call us when they had room. The board said to sign«when there was a wait.» How were we to know there was a wait when no one greeted us? Eventually someone called for us and guess what? There were MULTIPLE tables open and probably the same number of servers as there were tables(so there were a lot of waitresses). We ordered… And then proceeded to wait for 45 minutes for our food! Seriously with as many open tables as there were, the amount of wait staff; and it being breakfast? It should NOT have taken anywhere near that long. The food was okay. We both had benedicts — my florentine would have been better had there been a larger amount of spinach and red pepper. The hollandaise sauce was thick and buttery in a strange way. The side of potatoes were cold. So, ultimately I would say you should not come here. The wait staff while nice as individuals will ignore you as their customers. We heard other people complaining about the wait, and the staff were clueless about where their food was. The staff also freaked out about a «group of 7 coming in 5 minutes.» How about you pay better attention to the people already at your restaurant? Better work on that first.

A+++ the cheese melt that was on special was awesome my only suggestion is that this place gets busy and is on the small side so don’t expect a 10min in and out experience

This is the spot for a great family breakfast. My meal was«huevos rancheros» a Mexican morning breakfasts dish that read delicious. My expectations where too high for this dish. One big whole wheat tortilla with a splash of re-fried beans and some cheese and add the sunny side up eggs and you get a Saratoga made«huevos rancheros». My family stuck with the norm for breakfast, which seemed to look delicious. Pancakes are a must when visiting this place. Located a block from Broadway.

Great little breakfast five off Broadway downtown. I got here early in the morning so there was no line or anything so I can’t speak to how crowded it might get later in the AM. I ordered the sausage gravy biscuit special and loved it. For a diner type place the coffee was excellent. And the service was really good. I also loved the American country store sort of feel to the décor and the 50s music playing. Definitely a step back to simpler times.

I visited here on a Saturday morning with a group of coworkers after working the night shift. We waited a long time for a table in a cold dining room with uncomfortable chairs. We then waited even longer for our drink orders to be placed, for our drinks to arrive, for placing our food orders, and for the food to arrive. The food was average at best(there are MANY other places in Saratoga that are much better). We had Mimosas and Bloody Marys, but be warned you won’t be getting more than two, since they have a hard drink limit and an apparent desire to turn down business! Then the check comes. One check for 8 mid-twenties mostly male coworkers. I tried to get it broken up as it should have been from the beginning but was informed that couldn’t be done and next time she should be told up front. In the 21st Century, in America, it was somehow impossible to divide orders individually. Overall, the experience was inhospitable and uncomfortable. They only get one star above the minimum allowed by Unilocal because their food wasn’t terrible. It wasn’t worth the visit and there won’t be a next time for any of us.
