Best prices I’ve seen in SF and a treat to say hello to the couple who owns the store. It makes my day saying hi to them every morning on my way to work :)

A small hole in the wall place run by a very nice couple. Almost missed this place as I was trying to find it as they didn’t have a sign on their windows with their name on it. It took 5 min to walk here from my office. I was in the store, waited in line, ordered my food, got my food and was out of the store in even less time than it took me to walk there! Very impressed with the fast service! I ordered a large udon with everything(tofu, seaweed, tempura bits, and a slice of fishcake). The broth was hot and tasted good, but salty. By the end of my meal, I had to drink a cup of water. Udon was cooked perfectly. When my order was ready, the man at the register asked if I would like chili powder and I said yes. So I added the desired amount chili to the container. I expected to put the cap on the container of udon myself, but he did it for me and then bagged my meal and handed it to me! Was very surprised as I am used to places having me bag my own food at these grab-and-go type of places. The prices were very inexpensive, especially for being located in the financial district. Whole meal costed less than 10 dollars! The service has definitely got me coming back for sure!

This mom n’ pop tiny-hole-in-a-wall-food-to-go shop serves up cheap Japanese comfort food! They have cheap udon, cali rolls and chicken teriyaki bowls. What a great treat for the lunchtime bunch. Cash Only.

The food is great for the price. Uncommonly cheap. Will probably go regularly. Got a drink, avocado sushi roll, and a seaweed salad for 6.25!

I can’t get enough of Yoyo’s. Especially in this cold weather in SF. It’s perfect to warm up at lunch. The udon and chicken teriyaki are great and affordable! Basically, you’re getting more than what you paid for. The customer service is fantastic as well. Looking forward to my next visit.

This place rocks. Fast, simple, inexpensive, and super friendly. I recommend their half-order of chicken teriyaki. It’s she same amount of rice as the full order, just half the chicken. Other stuff that’s good: California rolls, half-order hot udon, squid salad, hot chicken gyoza, and daifuku for dessert. Some food is on the counter, and you just pick what you want. Other stuff you order off the menu. If there’s a line, don’t worry; it moves fast. It’s cash only, and there’s essentially no where to sit. Instead, enjoy your Yo Yo’s at Walton Square 1 block east on Pacific, or at Levi’s Plaza 5 blocks north on Battery.

Warming family business by the SF pier! Their food honestly taste average, but its the service and price that gives them high ratings on Unilocal. You can get Japanese Soba or Udon soup for $ 5 or half order for $ 3. That is a pretty darn good deal. Their noodle soup comes with Seaweed, tofu and beancurd skin and some tempura crumbles with shrimp flavored soup. I prefer udon over soba just because udon is chewy and it goes well with the soup. I prefer my soba cold. Dont forget to get Seaweed salad on the side for $ 2.50! I promise this will be the best buy of your day if you come here for lunch! And remember CASHONLY! Cheers!

Cheap and good takeout. This place is no longer seen as über hipster, so the lines have died down and you can now get a good and cheap takeout soup without spending your whole lunch hour in line.

Just down the street from my new workplace, I have finally discovered my go-to place to eat lunch! This place seems to have regulars often, and it’s no surprise once you experience the food for the first time. I got a half order of chicken teriyaki, which is $ 4.25. Cash only. That is INCREDIBLY inexpensive for food in FiDi… and it’s a good amount too. I don’t eat much, and I hate when I’m given an exorbitant amount of food at any other restaurant that I end up lugging around as leftovers, so I appreciate the option to get half orders. You can also get noodles, sushi, seaweed salad, mochi, and a variety of other things. The food is alright but hey — for that price and quantity you had better not complain! This is also not a sit-down restaurant. Regulars probably duck out from their workplace to pick something up and head back to the office. Good fast food without tasting like horrible fast food.

One of the cheapest place in the area. Totally worth the price. I got teriyaki chicken and California roll for $ 7. Only 2 seats to sit down. Ppl work in the area would come for lunch.

A really cheap lunch option for takeout. The unagi and smokes salmon role was better than I expected considering it was less than $ 3. The soba soup was fine and the full portion was pretty large. They also have udon and chicken teriyaki. A good quick fix if you want some Japanese for lunch.

Cheap, quick, and yummy! Perfect lunch spot. The broth for the udon is sooo delicious. Can’t go wrong with the wakame salad either! :)

Love the soba. Especially on a cold SF day. Love the wakame salad. On any given day. Love the mochi. On days I don’t watch my diet which is everyday. I will actually travel 45 min to get food from here. The service is great. My wallet is always happy. You are always promised quick service and lovely smiles. FYI cash only.

Yes yes yes!!! Yo Yo’s is definitely a winner in the FIDi! It’s super cheap and pretty good if you’re craving some soba/udon. There are like 6 items on the menu. I always get the half soba with whatever veggie rolls look good in the front. The husband and wife are suuuuuuper fast so don’t be discouraged if you see a long line outside. Once you order, you’ll have your food within a minute or two.

Things I like: 1) Affordable prices! 2) Hours — open nearly all day! 3) Location Things I don’t like: 1) Lack of vegan labeling/options. They had a vegetarian rice dish, but it wasn’t posted with its price in view like other dishes. It’d be easy if they had a menu and clearly labeled what was vegan or could be made vegan. Edamame was cheap($ 1.50) but not very fresh/tasty.

This is my favorite udon spot near my work! $ 5.50 for a large size udon or $ 3 for a half order udon. The udon doesn’t have any meat; instead it has fried tofu and seaweed. Simple udon, but extremely delicious! Cash only!

The best udon I’ve ever had! For $ 5.50 you can get a large container of udon with all the fix ins(seaweed, tempura batter pieces, fish cake, and bean curd). The broth is sooo flavorful and the bean curd is amazing. I can literally finish the entire container soup and all. If you’re ever in the embarcadero area you should definitely give this place a try. It is a super super tiny shop next to Starbucks and with only one small table. They also have chicken teriyaki plates, soba noodles, sushi rolls, seaweed salads, and other Japanese appetizers like edamame and gyoza. The owners are a married couple and they are just the sweetest. You could tell they know all their customers on a personal level and always have welcoming smiles, even if you are just walking by.

CASHONLYHERE (don’t worry, there are several ATMs around Fidi) I felt a cold coming on and felt as though I needed some warm soup. I ordered a regular size container of soba noodles. My grand total? Only $ 5.75. This container is HUGE!(See my photo) Now, this place is not impressive by all means. It’s a tiny little convenience store that sells snacks and drinks. There is no seating, everything is take-out. The noodle soup was delightful. The broth was flavorful and complicated. The seaweed was tasty and the noodles were tender. What a great VALUE! I will be back to try the sushi rolls, edamame and the udon noodle bowls for sure!

Super affordable. Quick service. Nice couple. CASHONLY btw! No tax included on orders. Seriously only have to wait 1 minute for your food. So wait in line! Chicken Teriyaki was yummy. It’s not EXCEPTIONALLY good but it’s definitely worth the price you pay. Food is piping HOT when you get it. Sushi is as good as it gets! Kind of tiny though…
