Great place to grab a dog– soma dog hit the spot. Super nice. If in a hurry around Moscone easy to get in and grab a bite.

Nothing special here. Other then overpriced hot dogs. Hot dog and a soda is over 10 bucks… call me cheap but sorry im used to dollar hot dogs at costco and 711. go anywhere else in the city for a hot dog and your paying max 8 for a meal. Iv tried every hot dog from this place and am not fully satisfied. 6.5÷10 .ps. the guy behind the counter is constantly sick and coughing

I guess this is where the drunk or homeless go to get their meals because outside is a homeless guy with a ton of garbage bags eating a hotdog and I’m sure at night when people get out of the bars they’ll head here. In general $ 6 for a hotdog and a little under $ 4 for onion rings seems like a ripoff. I can go to hotdog on a stick and get a combo for $ 6. Nothing really great about their hotdogs. Come to think about it Costco has bigger dogs for 1⁄3 the price.

Although I haven’t been to this specific location, I was fortunate enough to try the stand alone cart before they closed down. It was right next to work and definitely peaked my interest after seeing all the variations of hot dogs. Who would’ve known there’s so many options! I got the chance to try a hot pastrami dog in the past, for $ 6. Great deal! What’s up dog, topped with hot beef pastrami and melted cheese. WOW, three great things combined into one meal. So good and packed with flavor. A dog worth trying. Hopefully they open other cart locations around the city. I miss having that cart close to work!

As far as hot dogs go, this is about as good as it gets. The service is fast and friendly, and the dogs are amazing. I recommend the North Beach or the Heart Attack.

A meal you can eat and feel guilty about. Straight up dog town with plenty o’ fixins. Chili cheese + bacon bits + extra long dog = a pound more for this heavenly hunnie. I’d recommend splurging and loading up that puppy with as much filler as your tummy wummy can chummy.

Used to work right across from. Sure its a bit pricey for hot dogs, but then again its San Francisco, so you take what you can. Its fast, its tasty and its NOT subway. I’m a big fan of the Chicago Dog, but the Heart Attack dog is my second best one, but the best of course is the actual sausage making the whole thing actually good.

Love this location. Come here for dinner and got the What’s Up Dog with chips and a bottled water. The hot dog was good. This is the best place to get a hot dog in San Francisco. This is better than the Hot Dog on a Stick at the Stones Town mall. I would go back to this What’s Up Dog location again. One thing I don’t like is that the hours are not posted on anywhere. Come on! We as customers should know the times and day you are open.

Always great, friendly service. Open every day except Sunday. I get the Chicago every time — bomb!

Gets the job done, good selection, variety of sausages available. A quick hot dog with more flavor and options than a street cart. Standard dog is just that, a regular long dog.

When is a hot dog not a hot dog? When it’s a what’s up dog! Innovation is clearly the name of the game here. You don’t just get plain old hot dogs here, you get toppings on your dog that pertain to a certain theme. My North Beach dog came pizza-themed, baked with cheese, tomato and other stuff I don’t recall. It was yummy! Lots of other special themed dogs to choose from. Wish I had more opportunities to come here and try them. This is the perfect place for when you are sick of the conference fare at Moscone.

I got the chili dog with onions and mustard. At $ 8.75 I think it’s a bit pricy for a chili dog, but it’s hard to deny the price when the food is so good. The dog was a good size and the bun nicely toasted. My only critique is I wish the chili was a little meatier and more flavorful, as I felt it got lost under the mustard and cheese. It’s still no match for a Coney dog from back home in the Midwest but it’s the best I’ve found in SF so far. Four solid stars!

I love this place! When I need a corn dog or a hot dog this is my first stop! These guys make good food and their quick. I definitely recommend coming here.

Think a hot dog is just a hot dog? What’s up with that, Dawg? With about a dozen different styles and toppings, I find entertainment here every week. Most of the selections are under $ 7. Today I tried the slaw dog, and it was much tastier than I expected. Next up: the kimchi dog. The indoor seating is a great refuge from the Folsom Street wind tunnel. I sat in the window, munching on my slaw, watching the trees blow by. Since I was outside the lunch hour, there was no swarm of conventioneers to compete with. A fast, delicious, quiet meal.

Awful, awful traffic had me stranded on Folsom St. My buddy was driving so I hopped out and got us some dogs. The service was quick as i got back to the car and we had moved maybe 20 feet. They have specialty dogs on the menu but i stuck with kraut, relish and mustard.

I work near by, so this has been my go to food joint when I don’t know what I want. I go for the 2 premium sausages for $ 8, or they are $ 4.50 each. I’m all about the Bratwurst but they are all really good. A 5 star must try is the Tokyo Dog, but add bacon! The salty seaweed with bacon, is an über explosion of awesomeness in your mouth. For me it’s not filling enough, but I eat a lot. For a normal person, this would be very filling. I stack on the free sauerkraut with my premium sausages, throw on some pepper, and add Sriracha. Deliciousness. I recommend this to my coworkers who are new to the company.

Decent hot dogs. I enjoyed a Heart Attack — hopefully the only time you’ll hear me say that. It came with chili, extra meat, cheddar cheese, jalapeños, and some other cholesterol-laden stuff. Everything was okay — nothing terrible, yet nothing mind-blowing. If I’m craving a hot dog, I’ll drop by again, but this place wasn’t good enough to inspire cravings on its own.

Time: 1:22pm/57°F partly cloudy Purpose: Took off from Chinatown and went down to South of Market area to meet a friend. Saving my energy for later on the evening where the parade will be. Ambiance: Small place located on the bottom of condo building. All glass wrap around a few chairs/tables inside along with stand up tables. There’s no seating outside handicap ramp accessible. Place probably can hold up to 7 – 8 people comfortably provided that you can hear people’s convo with earshot. Staff: One guy friendly and quick to draw out what he has going for the day. I ask him about what’s their best seller and he said it depends on people’s mood. Cleanliness: No complaints well kept through my stay. Eats/Drinks: North Beach dog $ 4.75 grill just right I really like the mozzarella cheese mild and cheesy when pull with teeth. Onions made it taste better the sauce was not over use a big no-no when it cones to dogs. Products: Bottle juices, water, and sodas. Hot dogs sausages, combo deals chips, create yourselfs. Punch Line: Nearby convention centers, busy intersection, easy to get to, neighborhood joint, friendly service, after ballgame spot. Final Thoughts: This location just sits on a corner with a couple of steps to get to. Seems like the people who cones here are the drunk ones with a night out of heavy drinking then slept through breakfast. Everyone that was there knew the owner so they just tie their four legged friend and head in. Weekends are best as no lines or big groups allowing cook to focus on orders. Come if you want a quick bite without all the downtown commotions and craziness, good hideout.
