This is a very confused Walgreens pharmacy. It really wants to be a hospital pharmacy, but it’s open to the public. So, people who walk in are quoted a 15 minute wait time, but end up waiting much longer. If it can’t have an efficient drop-off service, it probably shouldn’t offer one. I’d go here if I lived in the area and ordered my prescriptions a day or more in advance. Not for new prescriptions that you want/need in a timely manner.

If I could give them a negative, I would. — Every time I go there, there are customers waiting furious. GOTOANOTHERPHARMACY if you want your script filled in time or at all. «Reed» the training pharmacist should be fired. SUPPORT A LOCALPHARMACY, they will take care of you. Although seemingly convenient, they take more time to fill prescriptions, have many errors and are rude and use their power to fill or NOT fill scripts at their discretion, AND at very sick people’s cost. Probably the most unempathetic entitled staff. — REED consistently tells people he has not received their scripts when he just hasn’t checked thoroughly. — He made a customer wait an hour, until closing, and then tells him, sorry he can’t fill it because he has to close. The man was outraged, pharmacist REED didn’t care, he wanted to leave for the night. The man was desperate, he had a sick wife being discharged and they needed to leave, and she needed her meds. — for all the bells and whistles they have at their new store, I think they forget to train the staff to treat their customers with common curtesy and respect. OHNO wait this is how they train their staff to treat their customers see:

I Love this Walgreens Pharmacy! It’s just that. A Pharmacy, it has some toiletries and some over the counter things that you can buy. But you’re in and out very quickly. The techs and pharmacists here are all very very nice. They try and make things easier for you and help you out as much as they can. It’s very new and clean! You also don’t need to be a patient as UCSF either, it’s just conveniently located there!

These people are slow, poor in communication skills, and NOT inclined to be helpful. GOELSEWHERE.

This place is convenient and even has a little parking lot but what I really appreciate is that the pharmacist directed me to a pharmacy down the road that would be able to fill my prescription much cheaper based on my insurance. I would not have expected that from a national chain. She did not have to tell me, I would not have known and would have just gotten it filled there.

I had a recent customer service issue there on an expensive prescription and the staff handled it extremely professionally. For me, this is exactly the kind of service that continues to outway moving prescriptions online.

Every time I go in in this Walgreen’s I feel like I’m being followed! What is up with this place. I have never seen any employees of African or Hispanic decent? Do they not hire other minorities? Much like the local McDonald’s. I know there are plenty of qualified young people in the neighborhood! I will boycott these businesses until they change there hiring practices.

I come here from time to time since right on UCSF campus grounds, so it’s really useful for students who just got out of the Student Health Clinic and discharged hospital patients that need to fill their medications at a very close and convenient pharmacy. The most memorable experience I had was with a male pharmacist who was very helpful and caring. I was having really bad allergies, with intense nasal congestion. He sold me a pack of Sudafed and counseled me in a very patient friendly and respectful manner. The pharmacy is small – it only has one wall of OTC products, mainly Walgreens brand products. So, for those of you who want to pick up name brand OTC products, you’ll have to go to the 199 Parnassus Ave. Walgreens, because this tiny Walgreens probably won’t have it. This being said, this Walgreens is mainly for filling prescriptions. This pharmacy is very similar in design and in their operations like the NYU Langone Hospital Pharmacy( ). Since this pharmacy lacks the many aisles like a normal Walgreens, it is very spacious, even though the pharmacy is small. I never feel claustrophobic(as I do at most Walgreens!!) here. :)

This is a great hidden gem. I came here to pick up a prescription and the staff was really friendly and professional. After taking my order they realized that the prescription would not be available until next day they gave me a call and provided me with all details. Next day I came to pick it up — they remembered me and apologized for the inconvenience and the prescription was ready. The staff just wants to make the whole process super easy and efficient. Fine by me :)

I never knew Walgreens existed in this neighborhood until the doctor at UCSF directed me here after prescribing some meds. Conveniently located so you can see the doctor and get your meds within a one block radius. You wouldn’t know it exists here unless someone told you. It’s hidden in UCSF’s Millberry Union on the floor below the food court and above the Irving Street parking garage entrance. Keep in mind this is a no-frills Walgreens Pharmacy. That means all you can buy here are drugs, not nail polish or birthday cards, drugs only. They’re in my Blue Shield network and filled my prescription in 15 minutes(maybe less). That’s all I need for a pharmacy to be 5 stars in my book.
