love the steak ceasar salad!!!

found this place on eat 24. the salads and sandwiches are really good with huge portions. and the price are good too!

I feel so bad! I meant to leave a tip in cash but my front desk security grabbed my order because I was in a meeting! I am so sorry to whoever handled my order today and did not get tipped!!!
I spent $ 20 on my delivery order consisting of a cheesesteak with extra cheese, mushrooms, onions and sweet peppers and an order of Popcorn shrimp. I got a free soda with it, which I typically dont drink soda but figured heck, why not since its free. The popcorn shrimp were bomb! The cheesesteak was good, although it didnt seem to have extra swiss on it (considering it was an extra $ 1.50 for swiss i thought it would be semi-​drowned). There werent enough sweet peppers in my opinion either, but there were alot of mushrooms and onions and the meat was delicious. The sandwich itself was HUGE and well worth 11.50 in my opinion. I really enjoyed my lunch today.
I work nearby in the mission and did not want to go out in the rain to get lunch. The delivery was very convenient and they were impressively quick. I did not get a chance to interact with any of the staff since I ordered online, but the food was great and quick. Again, sorry for not tipping!!!

Grilled cheese had a strong taste of oil in the bread. Classic grilled cheese should be pan fried with butter. Fries we soggy.

Such gooood salads! Honestly– so glad I found this place! Ordered from Eat 24 — which I love — coupon on the week end — on if u forget to add the coupon code during order — u can add later — they are so accommodating– the V Café has great Fresh Veg Salads, great French Fresh Bread, delicious dressing– this is going to be my next fav place to get a salad!

Staff is awesome, and they’re food rocks! Love the place and the people. What’s more, they take FiveStars which gives me a free soda every few visits. What’s not to love?

Great find. Keepin’ it real with the Philly cheesesteak!!! Watch out for that horseradish sauce. It’s got a bite!

Good food, great service, and a varied menu. I have eaten there many times and am almost never let down. The Philly cheese steak sandwich is a good bet, and the burgers are also good. My issue is the club salmon sandwich, I had to search for the salmon, very thin and very scarce. A lot of bread, it should be called a bread sandwich with lettuce and salmon, emphasis bread: Three slices of bread, with the third slice in the middle to make up for the clear lack of Salmon. The meal is $ 9.95 with fries, so it does not break the bank, but I would readily pay $ 14.95 and get some salmon for real.

So, I’m here like almost every day. There aren’t a lot of good lunch options in this part of SoMa but I’ll be damned if this isn’t one of the best. Everything I’ve ever gotten here has been genuinely good quality, no cut corners or skimping ever, and I’ve been here probably close to a hundred times by now. Sure it’s greasy as hell diner food, but it’s delicious and served hot, fresh and blindingly quick. One of the most efficient, fast paced kitchens I’ve ever seen in my life. I will say that if you order a cheesesteak and expect a «real authentic Philly cheesesteak» then guess what, you’re going to be disappointed. It’s more like a «grilled steak sandwich on a toasted roll», but who cares, it’s good. Their salads are really good too, if you want to minimize your intake of greasy fried deliciousness.
Also the service is friendly and like everything else, super quick and efficient. Your table will sometimes get bussed and cleaned up before you’re even all the way out the door. This place literally has no downsides to it, except maybe the limited seating, but the place is a hole in the wall, so it is what it is. Whenever I have no idea what I want for lunch, I usually just end up coming here because I know I won’t be disappointed. Keep it up V Café.
P. S. Not sure why it’s called V Café, they don’t even serve coffee here? Oh well.

Let’s just say V Café was V fire. My friend Nina, who is a grilled cheese connoisseur to say the least, said and I quote «this is the best grilled cheese I have EVER had» v aggressive + v fun = v café!

We order from here on the Eat24 App. The food is great and they always deliver with a smile. The chicken cheese steak hoagie is the bomb!!!

This place is amazing. No comparison and hands down! Love this place. I live in San Jose and will drive here to get a burger. This place is a diamond in the rough!

I came here for lunch today with a coworker. I ordered the feta salad with salmon, and she ordered the feta salad with tuna and a side of french fries. I was expecting a piece of grilled salmon, however the salmon is fried tempura style. Also, the portions are huge! We had enough leftovers to last another meal or so. :) The prices are decent, especially considering it is made to order and the service is fast.
Fun fact: they participate in the FiveStars loyalty program. I may actually sign up especially since this is just around the corner from where I work.
Definitely will be coming back.

Let’s just put it this way, I’m anything but a Philadelphia native, but I know what I am putting into my mouth. I do find most of the reviews up here to be reflective of the truth: Extremely friendly stuff, nice bang of a buck, and very fattening options overall. But the Philly Cheese Steak just feels way too excess — I specifically called to avoid pepper, onions and such, but it still stimulated more of my taste buds than I expected — and for a traditional food like this, it is definitely a turn-​off. And fries are mediocre at best, but they aren’t really the point anyways. Otherwise they get the job done, huge portion for a modest price, a free soda refill like any other hoagie spots, and the kind of small business vibe that you’ll be glad to find in this increasingly gentrified neighborhood.

Ordered a cheesesteak here via DoorDasha and was not disappointed! They actually followed the special instructions I wrote for half mushroom and half plain (I was sharing with a friend, which is totally doable because it was huge). I dare say it was better that Phat Philly’s in the Mission that we tried previously when we were craving cheesesteaks.
We also ordered a fried zucchini instead of fries which were ok. They weren’t soggy and I wouldn’t blame them for that since I had it delivered to me at work. They were just plain and needed more seasoning.
I’d definitely order from them again. They were great, I just need to order fries next time!

Of course the boy&I would end up here before a rave, completely starving, then get so full that we practically throw up during the event. Of course.
This is a nice hole in the wall restaurant that’s affordable compared to everything else that’s in the area. Okay, the service is really nice (the lady was really friendly&helpful with all my questions)&there is a lot of different things on the menu. The place is cute with all its different SF themed décor. I got the meatball sandwich&my boyfriend got a big ass cheesesteak. The food was HUGE. Like the sandwiches were so super long&filling, I enjoyed my food a lot. This place is a really good place to grab a quick bite (they’re really fast when it comes to making food) but as always, being that it is SF, parking is really difficult (especially being that it was a Friday nights).

V Café is a perfect little spot if you need to grab a quick bite for lunch during your work day. I haven’t eaten in the actual restaurant in just about two years, but you can order online and pick the food up within 15 minutes, which is great for me because the patrons there largely consist of ogling men, so I’m always happy to be in and out. But the staff there could not be nicer. They’re always hustling about, trying to get the food out as quickly as possible, but they’re always smiling and they know my name, even though I’m only ever in the restaurant for 90 seconds tops.
I really like the food and you’re definitely getting a substantial amount of it for the price that you pay. You won’t be getting any late afternoon hunger pains if you have a V Café burger for lunch. Speaking of, their burgers are really juicy and tasty, the club is big with plenty of turkey stuffed inside, and the salads are so big that I can never finish a whole one (can’t finish a whole salad!!! It probably seems like that sentence doesn’t make any sense, but trust me, it does.) One thing that I don’t love about the food is that I never know what my french fry situation is gonna be. They’re regular fries are great. Love ‘em, no complaints. But sometimes they give me waffle fries and I just want to break down and cry. Ugh, waffle fries. This isn’t a carnival and I’m not five years old. NO WAFFLE FRIES, PLEASE!!!
I should clarify something about the food: while I enjoy it for a work lunch every so often, this is not gourmet food we’re talking about here. Don’t go get a burger and then complain that Super Duper or Double Decker is waaaaay better and you can’t believe how that stupid Stephenie girl on Unilocal ACTUALLY likes the burgers. Don’t be a snob and you’ll enjoy the food just fine.

OK, so maybe the mystique was lost on me because I didn’t go in and experience the great service everyone has raved about and I wish I did. Sadly, I work nearby and had been in the office since 7am, up since 4:30 with no food. I was so hungry with no chance for a real lunch break in sight so I decided to Unilocal nearby places that delivered. V café popped up, and I read the reviews and decided to go for it.
I ordered fried zucchini, and a mushroom Philly cheese with extra hot peppers and cheese. I was excited by the reviews and was hoping for the best, but as hungry as I was it would have been hard to disappoint…
I’ll say this. The delivery was super quick, I received my food in about 20 – 25 minutes and it was hot and fresh. And they followed my order instructions perfectly.
I ate the zucchini first and they were not good at all. Now, I’m not sure if everyone is as particular as I am about their zucchini but this was breaded, then fried. They reminded me of mozzarella sticks from a chain restaurant. Same size, same beading, limp. If you’ve ever had zucchini from Carl’s Jr, then this is the same exact thing, just different shape. I’m not a fan. I will not be ordering that again, and probably won’t have a taste for fried zucchini for a while after that.
The Philly was on the better side of OK. It was good steak, and although I asked for extra cheese it wasn’t quite extra cheesy. The thing that makes a Philly amazing to me is when the onions, peppers, steak and cheese all kinda become one amazing mix of goodness. That didn’t happen with this sandwich. While it was definitely huge, and hot which I appreciated. It just didn’t meet Philly steak standard of excellence. It wasn’t bad, it just want VERY good.
I wish I had better things to say, but I’d rather be honest. I’m not a picky eater and I’m also not that Unilocaler who tears everything to pieces, but these items just didn’t do it for me. I’d much rather eat at the cheesesteak shop in the east bay.

I ordered my special cheeseburger and fries and drink for 10 and some change. I only had 15 but its all good. I’m very satisfied with the hamburger french fries are on hit. Please I know I didn’t expect less of this place I just wanted to see how good their burgers were. Come here and find out this place is pretty good I’ll definitely be coming back with an update. Bye for now. Oh yeah they took like 10 minutes to make my hamburger but like I said I was here alone. they do get busy
