One of the first lunch places that I visited after relocating to Chinatown area. I got a combo with a half chicken penini and a salad — both tasted great. In short great place with plenty of healthy items on the menu topped with friendly service!

Came across this restaurant by chance during lunch. Great pizza spot — I got a slice of the Rustica & a slice of the Michele. Also got a cup of the Caffe Mocha. Will definitely be returning again!

I’ve been a regular here for the past 5+ years and needed to sing my praise of the Tricolore crew. I highly recommend the slice of vegetarian with bowl of minestrone or tomato white bean combo. Always quick and delicious. It’s a hidden gem in the Financial District.

4 stars for their pizza(pepperoni and mushroom). Thin and reheated to a nice crisp in the oven. Costs $ 4 and some pennies for the slice after taxes. Affordable when you are low on cash. Friendly service. Dine in, sit outside on nice days, or to-go. I don’t care for their caeser salad(soggy and salty) or butternut soup(not to my liking). My go-to when I crave pizza.

Staff is always quick, attentive and friendly. I requested an item not listed on their menu and they were able to deliver and it didn’t lack of size or flavor. Great prices for good food.

We went here for lunch on a Monday. It was not crowded at all and we were easily seated. I had the combination of a one half Panini with chicken and the minestrone soup. They were both very good. Service was also good. Overall, a good place for a quick lunch.

Average pizza and salad. Maybe it was just a wrong choice. Tried Al Pollo Pizza and Senza Culpa Pizza. Al Pollo Pizza is slightly better than the other one. Della Casa salad is probably not worth getting, unless all you want to eat green leaves. But it could be a great choice. Depends what you are looking for.

This is by far my favorite lunch spot in Financial District/Jackson Square. The food is incredibly fresh and healthy, the ingredients are high quality, and it really is authentic Italian style cooking. They have new specials of pasta dishes and soups every day, as well freshly prepared salads, sandwiches and pizza. I’m a big fan of their pizzas and insalata della casa. Above all– they have the friendliest staff in San Francisco! I end up coming here every week, or several times a week, because the food is so delicious and the people are so terrific– it can’t be beat!

We ordered here for a company lunch(they delivered). Everyone absolutely loved the food. Everything was fresh and authentic. They even made a special meat lasagna for us. The calzones were amazing. We will be a return customer!

I liked this place better before but in recent visits it’s not been as good. The soups and special dishes are always fantastic but the sandwiches they keep on their counter are always cold, rancid, and soggy in the inside. I always feel bummed out when I’ve spent money for a lunch that it will be thrown away :(I don’t think I will be going back for a sandwich here.

One of my go-to restaurants in fidi when I want some fast, fresh italian food! This place is actually really good and I’m so glad one of my co-workers introduced me to it. I mostly get the half salad, half soup combo with the tricolore pasta salad and the minestrone soup. The pasta salad is a traditional italian pasta salad with mozzarella and cherry tomatoes. The minestrone soup is a good hearty soup with a tremendous amount of vegetables. I’ve also tried the mozzarella and tomato panini, but I wasn’t a huge fan of it — it was kind of dry and fell apart easily. Their prices are great and their staff is extremely friendly! I really want to come back and try their pizza and pasta dishes as well but I will always be back for their salad and soup combo!

I’ve been here twice and both times it has just been okay. The pizza isn’t fresh and they re heat your pieces as you order it — not ideal. The pizza isn’t very good and doesn’t taste like much — even a bit soggy in my opinion. However, the prices are good so if you need a cheap lunch this is your place.

What a cute little Italian deli! I’ve had this place bookmarked for some time now, and finally checked it out on a rainy lunch break. We popped in for a quick lunch. Luckily for us the rush hadn’t started yet(around 11:30 am or so). We were able to walk right up to the counter and order. Our food was ready in about a 3 – 5 minute wait. The nice thing about a quick lunch here is the combo options. Customers can pair salads, pizza slices, painis, and soup to accommodate a unique lunch. I went with a salad and a slice of cheese pizza. My coworker ordered a panini and a salad. The pizza slice was ok– not the best I’ve had(I’m sooooo loyal to Tony’s!) and the salad was fresh and delicious. The panini was a generous size. I will certainly be back. Check the menu online( ) for the daily specials– apparently Tricolore offers a daily soup, daily pasta salad, and a daily pasta. I’ve already spotted a few soups and pasta dishes I’d like to try.

Time: 12:23pm/64°F mostly sunny Purpose: Wanting to try this place out for some time as coworkers always talks about how good their salads are. So since this is the first workday for November and need to drop about 7.3lbs by thanksgiving. It’s a start let’s go… Ambiance: Located in the heart three separate areas with two well known streets that connects downtown to fisherman wharf. Montgomery/Columbus ave will connect you together with downtown, Chinatown and North Beach. Starting at the«bend» Transamerica building on Washington st side sits this quiet quaint place. As it go two bistro style tables out front with hanging menu board writting with special of the day. Ribbon like Tricolore 1 demensional sign. Once inside about 11 – 12 tables sits about 27 comfortably. Walls are that of country side feel featuring rocks, stones, peeling façade all ersatz. It’s all deli like place two cold display cases, one beverage fridge, utensil cart, counter with register. No fancy equipment here its all straight forward no frill business. Staff: Two Italian guys early 50s with signature company polo shirts with Tricolore emblem. Never seen anyone of them laugh or crack a smile just straight face look. Very business like no demeanor or any shown. Almost like the deli in the east coast were you come in look around then you have to make the first words. I didn’t have any problem with them as they did crack a smirk when I ask if they have ciabotta rolls. Cleanliness: Grade A, not bad or good just enough to get by and stay afloat. Previous customers around the fi-di are the nicest as they wipe and clean after themselves. Eats/Drinks: Insalata della casa $ 6.50 consist of baby spring mix, cherry tomatoes, Tricolore vinaigrette dressing. I added some pine nuts when I took it back to the office. Salad was freshly made the same day before peak lunch time. Leafs were springy as for the dressing perfectly balance. Tomatoes a little under ripe but with the pinenut added it you wouldn’t know the difference. Products/Services: Panini, salads, chips, sandos, pizzas, calzones, entrees, cold/hot drinks, pastries/danishes, breakfast items, pasta dishes, combos. Customized sandos/plates. Catering available notice within 48hrs. Punch Lines: Strictly a place for lunch and snacks, good portions, moderately price, straight face staff, efficient, in/out time 5 – 6 max after ordering, takes all plastic, inside dim, good crust on pizza(saw another persons order), street or garage parking, 12 mins walk from Bart. Nearby Fi-Di, Chinatown, North Beach, Transamerica, Jackson street art/antique, Wells Fargo Museum, Portsmouth Square, Broadway peep show & shops, bars/pubs/lounges, SFFD, INS, all Embarcadero buildings. Tradeoffs: When time is not on your side and you’re craving real Italian eats or close to it, this maybe your best bet nearby. The offerings here are near or surpass some of North Beach sando places for $ 1.50-$ 2 less. Final Thoughts: I may come back one day again but with North Beach and the connections it’s likely that will be my last resort. The place was pack with lunch time crowd as noises echos sounds bounces from wall to wall. When I eat I tend to enjoy as quiet as possible here it didn’t have that option for me. Simply ask for it to go if you’re not feeling talkative as some people will strike up a convo with you. This place serves mostly the 3 block radius clientele most of them just across the street. You know that sharp pointed building shape like an tall pyramid. I’ll give you a clue just fill in the blanks T_an_a__ri_a.

One to like. Second visit prompted by a coupon for free coffee with the purchase of any food item to celebrate their new Facebook page. So far 68 likes: Best part of the Americano was that it was free and a generous two shots. Mr. Espresso beans again proved to be on the bitter side. Fortunately there was more to like such as an outstanding muesli with blueberries, strawberries, oats and lowfat plain yogurt. Sweet and filling and just $ 3 for a small. Tiramasu also gets a Mark Zuckerberg-approved thumbs up. Rich and fluffy with a perfect cocoa sprinkled top, it was meant for later but couldn’t resist a bite or three now. Staff continued to exhibit a genuine mix of warmth and enthusiasm. Their endearing attitude combined with great food make it easy to like everything.

I haven’t actually ever stepped foot into this place, but my office has ordered pizzas from Tricolore 3 times now and we have yet to be disappointed! The thin crust pizzas are delicious and crispy. It’s so hard not to keep going back for more slices! We usually order 3 – 4 extra large pizzas, and it is definitely more than enough to put our whole office into a midday pizza coma. Over the phone the staff is very friendly and helpful. They even gave us a bit of a discount which is super nice of them. They deliver the pizzas right to our office exactly at the scheduled time, and it’s perfectly hot and fresh tasting every time. We originally used to order from the Pizza Orgasmica at Embarcadero, but after one bad customer service experience there we decided to check out Tricolore instead. It was a great move! The pizzas taste much more authentic. Simple, quality ingredients and not too overloaded or crazy. My favorites that we’ve ordered are the Tricolore(low fat ricotta, mozzarella, tomatoes and basil), rustica(sautéed mushrooms, prosciutto, garlic and oregano) and the al pesto(low-fat ricotta and mozzarella, pesto and sun dried tomatoes). If you’re having an office party or just want a pizza fix in the FiDi, i would def recommend Tricolore!

Delicious, and very reasonably priced. Wonderful staff as well, they are super friendly and efficient! What’s more, they have slices of yummy cheese-free pizza, which is awesome for the dairy-intolerant folks like me :)

My new lunch place. Happy that they sell pizza by the slice! Check out their combo specials! Most if not all under $ 10 — slice + salad, salad+soup, 2 slices, etc. All very good deals. I had 2 slices(veggie with no cheese and sweet sausage with mushrooms) for about $ 7 and it was delicious. It’s hard to find decent lunch options nearby so this is good to know if you’re in the area.

I really appreciate business owner’s who CARE about their customers, in addition, take the time to reach out to them and take the criticism constructively and offer suggestions to remedy the issue. Such as Claudia — who reached out to me today and offered to make it up to me. So what did I learn today — if I want something — ask for it. That is, when ordering be clear about how or what I want. Think of Sally in «When Harry Met Sally» — when it came to ordering her food, as annoying as she was, she was unabashed in explaining to the server EXACTLY what she wanted and how she wanted it. I guess I forget I too can ask/make inquiries leading to what I can expect, or how I would like it. Silly me.

Met up w/Yelp buddy Simone W for a sunny-workday lunch & couldn’t have been more impressed w/Tricolore Choices consisted of the Veggie & Turkey Panini — was declared delish I chose the half Mozzarella Panini w/a bowl of the White Bean-Tomato Soup The soup was so filling & the sandwich was so toasty & melty w/the soft mozz that before I knew it, I had polished off my whole meal…& had the muffintop belly to prove it I also got some of their freshly baked, homemade Zucchini Bread for later & it was über-yummy. Soft & moist & spicy bread w/a crunchy cream cheese-like topping, this was the perfect Fall weather treat Will certainly come back — there are loads of other combos I’m looking forward to trying!
