It’s a nice Korean cosmetic store — very prominent K-pop vibe.

This store is SO clean and they carry a lot of the products I can’t get anywhere else. It is expensive but their products are not crap and they come in the cutest packaging.

I almost flipped a table when I found out the place where Sanrio used to be is now a TONYMOLY: D One of my favorite Korean brands, finally giving The Face Shop some competition: D I mostly went in there to buy an acerola cleansing foam that I desperately needed, and it was only $ 5 there(at Face Shop, it’s $ 12). Also bought their eyeshadow primer for $ 7, which is a steal since my Too Faced Eyeshadow Primer is $ 20 at Sephora. Once I buy my foundation at Sephora, I’m planning to wear makeup again soon and put that eyeshadow primer to good use and see if it’s worth the price I bought it for. My main complaint(and this is mostly just me being an impulsive buyer) is that they labeled their face primer as $ 7 on the display and when I rung it up, it was $ 23 :(Gonna return it today, not because I don’t like the product(I really do love the smooth, matte finish), but 1) I need my money back and 2) I’ll just stick to my E.L.F. face primer that I love so much(and it’s only $ 6 at Target). Also, BIG pluses for: Actual(friendly) Korean girls working at the store(The Face Shop girls tend to be kinda snobby, if they are Korean), cute packaging/merchandise(c’mon, it’s TONYMOLY), and so glad there’s a store here where I can FINALLY try the products in person, instead of playing Russian Roulette by buying them online. Whether I’ll still buy the products online, depends on how true to imported-retail priced they are: P They’re still slightly cheaper than The Face Shop. NOTE: No hate on The Face Shop… it still holds a deep place in my heart, because 1) the ajhumma who owns it is a sweetheart, 2) this was the first Korean makeup/skincare product I tried and got into, and 3) I was there when Kim Hyun Joong(my first and forever bias) was The Face Shop ambassador. Really enjoyed shopping here. The shop girl was really nice, and there were a lot of items that I’ve never seen before. I sampled a lot, and made a small list of things I wanted for pay day, so I’ll be back! It looks like they are still stocking and getting prices up, there was also a «bar» which I think was there so someone could teach you how to use the product but I don’t think there was anyone available to do that. Also it’d be nice if they played music or something? It kinda styled like a club, with flashing lights and all that. The shop girl was clearly trying to break the silence, but music would have done that(and make it a little less of an awkward experience) Overall I’m excited to come back!

Tony Moly is a store in Japan Centre mall in Japantown. They carry cosmetics in cute packaging but I’m not sure about the quality. We walked around the store and found lip and hand cream products in adorable containers but the prices seemed a little steep. The staff were available if we had any questions. We didn’t end up buying anything but a fun place to look around.

You’re better off purchasing Tony Moly products from Amazon. The items here are so expensive and the price you’re paying is basically for cute packaging. Spacious place but a lot of items are repeatedly shown around the store.
