«Beauty is skin deep» Japan and Korea are the leaders in innovative skincare so it makes sense that many women gravitate to Asian brands. Longtime Japanese luxury brand Shiseido has been creating well loved skincare and cosmetics since 1872. I ran out of eye cream so I tried some at a Korean brand shop that I like. It was fine, but not what I am used to. I am accustomed to skincare that my skin quickly«drinks» opposed to feeling waxy on the surface of my skin. If I have to pat the product for absorption over an extended period of time — it isn’t worth it. I was walking out of the Japantown«mall» to get fresh mochi across the street when I saw the awning to this shop with Shiseido products prominently displayed in the window. I asked for eye cream. I was shown their options. I used one option she showed me for a year until it was empty(thats why I was there). I tried different products I was curious about as well. 10 minutes in the shop and I was out of there! The ladies who assisted me were professional, courteous, and helpful with answering my questions. I didn’t feel pressured to try or buy anything more than what I wanted. This shop sells another brand — but I wasn’t interested. My sensitive skin loves the eye cream. The jar is enough to last about half a year — so consider that along with the effectiveness and voila — it was a great deal! I am thankful for my fuss free purchase. I will return when my balancing elixir runs out.

Friendly, fast, and very helpful. The sales woman did not push me to purchase something that I do not need. However, she did recommend and gave me samples to try. I appreciate that. Plus she was right. My skin resonated with the product so well.

I went primarily to get a Shiseido skin softener to replace my Qiora, a Shiseido sister company that is impossible to find in the area. Service was quick, friendly, and not insulting at all, which makes skincare shopping a drag. The price was the same as what I would pay at a department store(researched this on my phone before entering the store). Loved the foundation and powder samples they threw in.

I love this place. It’s been here for years and while I’ve always loved it for the special attention I get when I stop by looking for… I don’t know… something to make me feel pretty, Fujiya never lets me down. And when I moved back from Japan and was hooked on my shampoo and conditioner, they came to the rescue! I love being able to find just what I want, even when I don’t know what I want!

Love the service and samples. Akiko is very knowledgeable and she doesn’ make you purchase anything you don’t want. I have always had good experiences here. They carry certain lines from Shiseido that department stores may not carry, and that’s great. Since they are specializing in Shiseido and Cle de peau products, they know what they are talking about, unlike the sales people in Sephora or dept stores. One catch is, I’ve always gone on a week day when they are less busy.

Dear Fujiya, I was so excited to find you last year, closer to my house than Macy’s or Nordstroms or other places that sell Shiseido products. you are truly the only place that sells them exclusively. I do love your products. I have been using them since I was 18 years old, so we’ll call that a few years. I have always used them because people have been thinking I am at least 5 – 7 years younger than I am for as long as I can recall including recently. I love the way my skin feels and looks. So let the illusion live on right? Your customer service over the last year has been exemplary. So polite and helpful, generous with your samples while I spend my precious $$$. It has never bothered me to spend the money because it has really paid off for me over the years. Or at least I thought so. So imagine my surprise when I came in and mentioned that I didn’t care for the last line of products I tried and wanted to go back to what I used before. Attentively the young woman behind the counter walked over the display that I did and was about to ask me what it was that I used so she could package it up for me. I was satisfied with that, until the older woman behind the counter came out from behind it and directed me to another product and said: «This is good for skin over 50». WTF was this woman thinking? Was she thinking? Even if I were. not something you say to a woman right? I informed her that my skin was in fact NOT over 50, that it was not even 50. The younger woman grew wide-eyed, literally gasped and then giggled putting her hand over her mouth and turned away for a second. It seemed as though she was not giggling at me but at her coworker. Which I surely would have done. The younger woman immediately tried to take attention away from the older one who was trying to apologize in a haphazard way. We were both trying to ignore her, fearing yet another stupid comment would spew forth from her caked face. So, I end here with I will go back to Macy’s where the insincere sales women do not insult you and then make it worse by forcing samples of the product you didn’t like on you. I would have liked to give you 5 stars and would have but… Sadly, I could recommend this place, but I don’t care to. Unless of course you don’t mind being insulted by a woman wearing unevenly trowlled on foundation. Sincerely and with only a slight bit of malice, MW PS…Oh and lady, you should really think about using some of that expensive cleansing foam for washing your face. Your pores were so clogged your face looked like an archeological excavation site.
