Amazing place for beer week! Personally, I love dive bars, but this dive bar is something special because they have such a nice outdoor patio and many beer specials! Even for beer week they had an all goose island night, but they also have other breweries host different nights! This is a great place to chill for a night or have a social pre game! The décor and board games are also a huge plus! Huge kudos to the server who replaced my tray of beers after they fell off the table! You know a place has great service when they treat the customer first! Thank you so much again for a great time! Can’t wait to come again!

I had high hopes for this dive bar and its food, but it didn’t quite pull through. The place is dark and slanted, literally. Our meal was eaten on a slope, which was rather strange. All of the cushions on the booth side were horribly cracked and torn. They were very uncomfortable to sit on while wearing a skirt. We ordered the pork belly donuts to share, and I got two sliders and fries — the fried chicken and beef. My friend got the lamb slider with fries. Although she enjoyed her meal, I was dissatisfied. The fries were overly salted, and the sliders were quite flavorless. Also, the pork belly wasn’t pork belly at all, both of us agreed. It was pork, but more like something stewed, not reminiscent of belly in the slightest.

Terrible service. One guy was nice, but the girl behind the bar and the guy pouring mimosas where terrible and rude. We asked for more mimosas and they just told us to sit and they will bring it around. Hence, our cups remained mostly empty because they rarely brought the«bottomless mimosas». Food was NOT great. They did not have chicken and waffles, so we got the pork belly doughnuts. Those where just deep fried pork belly balls covered in syrup — nothing to do with doughnuts. In our party of 7, no one even wanted to finish them. Also got the eggs Benedict, potatoes where good, but eggs did not have a good flavor.

The front is kind of like, «Okay, another divey bar, whatever, fine» but you walk through a tiny corridor and you’re outside in the backyard area and all of a sudden everything changes. Not because it’s less divey because it still is with its old wooden benches and how tightly crammed everything is, but because of the inherent feeling that drinking outside is just BETTER. Also, their Moscow mules were good. Any time you give me a fancy copper mug, I am DOWN.

Came in for brunch this last Sunday with a group of friends and had an excellent time. All the food we got was fantastic, I can personally recommend the breakfast chicken slider, the fried egg slider, the potatoes, and the bottomless mimosas! The service was excellent — from the ladies that took our orders inside to the gentleman that never let our bottomless mimosas hit the bottom. Get there early, we got there around 11:30 on a Sunday and the place was already packed! They also have games you can play while you’re eating and drinking, lots of fun! Really had an awesome time and will be going back sometime soon!

Came for brunch! Real reason: Bottomless mimosas in Mission. FOOD: Friends ordered chicken and waffles and I ordered the biscuit sandwiches one with egg & another with chicken. Their chicken and waffles dish features strawberries! Personally, I love strawberries so had I known. I would’ve ordered the same! It seems weird but the strawberries added to the sweet side of the dish and complimented the waffles but surprising paired well with the chicken! Their chicken wasn’t super moist but it had a nice crunch with good spices rolled in. I’d ordered this for myself next time! As for the biscuit sandwiches, I don’t normally like biscuits but Sycamore’s was light, fluffy, & buttery. I enjoyed the biscuit with chicken! Fries are a good side for these guys but a good side of fruit will do too! SERVICE: One of my friends had a bit of a complicated order but I appreciate their patience! Also, my mimosa glass never went dry nor did my drink ever reach the bottom. They’re good about that. Top hit: — You, my friend, are right next to Clarion Alley which is a nice stroll afterwards. Heads up(s): — They do have a rooftop area for brunch but it was packed by the time we got in line. So come early!(This was also a Sunday)

This place is rather … interesting. The delicious food pics on Unilocal drew us in, and we expected more of a gastropub environment, but it’s definitely more of a dive bar type of atmosphere — dimly lit, warped tables and chairs, juke box, board games — but with above average pub eats. Order the mac ‘n’ cheese, gourmet sliders — get the lamb and skip the fried chicken. Beer on tap was a quality selection and the barkeep was able to suggest a beer to my liking. And they have hard root beer. I never had it until then. Try it!

We came here for Sunday brunch. I ordered 3 sliders(lamb burger, fried egg/sausage, and fried chicken)…they were terrific. The fried chicken with country gravy slider was a bit dry(the chicken patty) but I’ll forgive them because the bottomless mimosas were just flowing non-stop. I’ll give them 5 stars just for that! My buddies all enjoyed their breakfasts and bottomless mimosas too.

My boyfriends and I stumbled upon this little gem while we were in the area. We needed a little food and drinks before we went out for the night and we were so happy we found this place. We split a basket of French Fries, Fried Mac ‘n’ Cheese(with jalepeno and bacon), BLT Slider(bacon, butter lettuce, tomatoes and smoked paprika aioli), Lamb Slider(ground lamb, caramelized onions, romesco aioli and manchego cheese), and Fried Chicken Slider(chicken breast with pickled red onion, slaw and roasted garlic aioli). It was the perfect amount of food. We didn’t go too overboard, but I think we could have gotten one more slider without feeling overly full. They also had a good variety of beers, but everyone was ordering cheap beers in a can. I guess that’s their special. The only problem that I had was that you had to order the food at the bar, but it was hard to get there because everyone was trying to order drink and there was only 1 bartender. I think it would have been easier for everyone if they had a server.

The venue was a little louder than I had expected which I did not really like for a brunch setting. I didn’t like the outside area though which was perfect for a sunny day. The food arrived pretty quickly – my friend ordered a veggie scramble which was pretty small considering the price($ 13). The side potatoes were delicious though. If you are independent and enjoy really loud places where you have to shout to have a conversation then yes, Sycamore is a great place. And what I mean by independent is that no one is going to come refill your coffee.

Came here for brunch with a large group and was completely impressed. The food was great– we all ordered something different and there were no complaints. The chicken and waffles, the carnitas benedicto, and the pork belly donuts were a few of our favorites. The bottomless mimosas were refilled frequently. The bloody Mary’s were spicy and delicious.

*** In Short *** Dive bar with tasty bites. Both food and drink must be ordered at the bar. *** In Depth *** I don’t do dive bars: it’s not really my thing. When I drink, I go out for fancy cocktails I can’t, or am too lazy to make at home. So, you can probably guess that I wasn’t at the Sycamore for the drinks — in fact, I had no idea it even was a dive! So yes, my friend and I came for their food. And yes, we may or may not have already eaten previously. After figuring out that everything needed to be ordered at the bar, we put in for an order of their fried mac n cheese bites, as well as their pork belly doughnuts. Friend got a beer, while I got a glass of rose. The latter? Terrible idea, and not particularly enjoyable. The former(s)? Fantastic idea, and both were super tasty. ***Accessibility Info*** Venue — The place was fairly crowded at the bar and beyond, so I can’t speak for the venue beyond the little area up front, which accessible enough in that it had standard height tables. The bar is, of course, a high top bar, so that is what it is. Bathroom — Didn’t use.

A good staple Mission establishment. I’ve been here twice now — once for drinks, beers are reasonably priced, and another for brunch($ 12 mimosas with an $ 8 minimum). I’m not really sure why I understand the $ 8 minimum. but anyway, mimosas were great and I appreciated their constant refills ;-). They weren’t as bubbly as I would’ve liked but hey they were $ 12. I also had their fried egg sliders with tomato and they were super good and a good breakfast compliment to the mimosas. I’d def come back for drinks/bottomless mimosas/other shenanigans. FYI — they have an outdoor seating area but no umbrellas for shade :(.

If you could sum up the stereotypes and snobbary of the mission in one restaurant, it’s the Sycamore. I’ll start by saying yes, I did read the reviews but I took it with a grain of salt. We were craving some unhealthy brunch grub and endless mimosas, can you blame us? When we walked in, we couldn’t help but notice how tiny it was. About 10 tables in the main dining area, a smallish bar and a narrow hallway leading to a smaller patio. We didn’t see signs so we lingered a bit only to be barked at by a waitress that its open seating. Due to it being peak brunch time, we opted for the bar. Rookie mistake #1. While I understand what they’re looking to accomplish with the«do everything at the bar» approach, IMO, it’s very poorly executed. I saw people at tables waiting for lengths of time for waiters, questions about the menu that the bartender tended to get frustrated over, etc. I don’t think it’s fair to throw all responsibility on one bartender for food orders, drinks AND keep bottomless mimosas flowing. Food: Unilocal hyped up the pork belly donuts and I opted for the pulled pork sandwich(fact: you can not overdose on pork. google it). The pork belly donuts… this is what tipped the scale and brought us here. Unilocal,I love you all, but ya let me down. I got lots LOTS of batter with a hint of pork, not pork belly. Maybe an off day, but I do know my pork belly and this wasn’t it. I had high hopes, and unfortunately it crashed and burned. The saving grace was the pulled pork sandwich… easily one of the best ive had in SF. It was packed with beautifully marinated pork and the bread was nice and soft. This alone would make me come back. Service: again, I feel for the bartender; Drowning in food orders, tap beers and mimosa maintenance. To be fair, It wasn’t her fault for the not-so-chipper attitude, because I would be the same if not worse in her position. I can simply fault the restaurant in the operations department. Ambiance: sardine-like seating in the main dining room and communal-sardine-like on the patio. If you’re at the bar, you can either smell the bartenders breath or get bumped into by passers by in the narrow hallway heading outside. If you have friends in town and want to show them the«character» of the mission in a small window of time, head to sycamore. In this, there will be no disappointment. All in all, pulled pork, wonderful beers and bottomless mimosas… These are a few of my favorite things.

Came here twice while visiting SF. Ambience: Place is small and has a hippiesh vibe. They have board games which is pretty cool. They also have a small beer garden in the back. Drinks: They have an amazing beer selection, some for quite cheap. Music: There is a jukebox but when we try to play it, it stole our money. The selections are pretty old. But you don’t come here for the music. This is a good chill spot to have a drink.

Really cool brunch spot! It’s located in the Mission and I must say, FINALLY bottomless mimosas that is not $ 20. If you come here for brunch, they offer bottomless mimosas for $ 8 with an entrée, which isn’t bad at all! What’s unique about this place is not just cheap mimosas but they have an outdoor patio with lots of board games options such as monopoly, cranium, cards against humanity, and many more! I would definitely come back to this place. The mimosas guy named Charlie is the best! Very funny guy. Sycamore Chicken and Waffles and Carnitas Benedictos = VERYGOOD.

Great patio for bottomless mimosas on a sunny day! The back patio is first come first served seating so it’s great if your there early and claim a spot. I had the breakfast sliders and also tried the fried chicken and waffles. All delicious!

This place reminds me of home :) It’s a small bar with some tables, a friendly bartender, and a few solid munchies at an affordable price. The boyfriend and I ordered our food and beer at the bar, and took our seats. First up, the pork belly donuts($ 5.75 for 3). They were salty and savory, but also very sweet. They were really neat, but not sure if it warrants ordering again if we ever return. We also got some bacon jalapeño poppers which were all very crispy and exactly as you’d hope they would taste. Next up, sliders. We had the lamb($ 4.25) and beef w/blue cheese, and while they were on the smaller side, they were still good. This place was pretty chill overall, and one of the few I’d want to come back to whenever we’re in SF. They don’t have too many taps(bummer), but there’s a lot more of that menu I want to try!

This place was not bad. Some of the beers had really funky tastes(eg passion fruit one, which we didn’t like). Good vibe, not too pretentious, and nice outdoor place. But it’s not a place I would rave about or anything. Also it irks me when a bar can’t have anything non alcoholic for dds, who then have to drink water. :(

At first Sycamore just looks like your average dive bar. Then you get ahold of the menu(featuring goodies like fried mac ‘n cheese balls, pork belly donuts, and mix & match sliders) and venture to the back terrace, and it’s like a whole new place crackling with possibilities. Though it’s not the cleanest place and the fare is kinda overpriced, the food is still tasty and, more importantly, there is a fun communal vibe here. My boyfriend and I stopped here for a late lunch on a Saturday afternoon and were immediately invited to join a game of Cards Against Humanity with a group of complete strangers. Apparently this is not unheard of here — everyone is friendly, just chatting, playing other games(all provided by the bar — just ask the bartender) and drinking beer and wine(no cocktails, sadly). Great daytime alternative to the Zeitgeist when you’re looking for something a bit more chill.

«How do I love thee? Oui, oui — t’as bien lu — À volonté.
