The cashier man was one of the meanest people I’ve ever met. It made the whole experience extremely uncomfortable

When my wife and I saw the line out the door we figured it would be worth the wait. And it was. Eclectic combination of music and lodge ethos. The soy lattes are hot and large, and will satisfy your caffeine addiction. You can’t go wrong with the breakfast special. The rosemary hash browns are some of the best I’ve ever had. And the generous portion of smoked maple bacon is thick and tasty. The soft poached eggs are cooked perfectly. My wife loved her eggs and avocado. I’d highly recommend this restaurant.

Food is decent, but pricey. Service is extremely slow and confusing. And if you ever order to go, they often don’t call out your name loudly enough to be heard over the chatter.

i like this place. it’s cozy, the foods good and the prices are reasonable. the grove has a really nice variety of comfort food and healthy stuff. i had the tortilla lime soup and it was DELICIOUS. they put a big lump of avocado in the middle which i’d never seen. that was good. i had a side of bacon with it and that was all thick and cripsy and nice. i wanted some kind of desert like fruit pie, or one of their home made ice cream sandwiches or bread pudding(always a sucker for that) but i decided to rein it in this time. i was chatting w the guy next to me and he had this big chopped salad and a chocolate cookie. it looked pretty good and he seemed quite pleased with it. the staff is also very pleasant. it’s a good«go to» place b/c you really can’t go wrong. there’s something for everyone.

Great place for a weekend brunch. I ordered a chicken pot pie and the pie crust was butterly and flaky. Filling was piping hot and thick. Yummm!!! Service was also good. Outside patio is also great place to hang out. Also this is a pet-friendly restaurant.

Very lovely place to have breakfast, they serve it all day! Fast service and friendly people. My favorite was their housemade granola, vegan options are available. They also serve espresso drinks, and some goodlooking sweet treats!

This place is open late. A nice brunch place but it’s too busy and noisy. Not too many options for vegetarians, but their breakfast burrito and seasonal veggie scramble ain’t bad. This restaurant has a character to it and feels good to dine-in.

Pricey, but it is SF, the quality is great. They allow dogs inside, win!!! I ordered the smoked salmon sandwich, very good. My friend ordered the breakfast burrito and I wanted to steal it off this plate. The variety of items on the menu look appetizing and I intend to try a few more dishes.

We Love the Grove Fillmore! Seriously, we come here for breakfast. lunch…dinner…dessert… Joey the mgr and the whole crew are awsom. the food is great. with good vibes and fantastic service. Out the Door and The Grove are our favorite spots on Fillmore. I think we eat here 14 – 21 times a week. it is that good. We also love Taco Bar!

The chef must have changed. The food did not taste as good as before. The oatmeal no longer comes with a variety of fresh fruit. The bread was as hard as a rock. The cashier sounded really confused and mixed up our order for 4 people. $ 50 for 4 people and they forgot one of our orders. Then came to tell us one item was not ordered nor charged. Overpriced! The manager was apologetic and offered free pastries but we didn’t enjoy our food at all this time. What happened to the Grove that used to serve excellent brunch?

This place has good service and great hot chocolate. The atmosphere was really nice at sunset and the employees were very attentive. Overall a very amiable place that has mediocre food and delicious hot beverages.

Best parts about this place are the atmosphere, and service. It’s nice that people can bring their dogs to sit at the tables outside. Other than that I thought the food was just okay. You order at the counter and find a table to sit at. It was pretty crowded on a weekday for lunch. I got The Grove Cobb salad($ 13) which came with loads of chicken, bacon, blue cheese, tomatoes. It was served with a side of toasted bread which I thought was the best part. The serving size of the salad was large but I’ve definitely had better and more flavorful Cobb salads before. My boyfriend got the Guacamole Chop salad($ 12) which I thought was slightly better than mine. Overall nice place to meet and hang out with friends but nothing special about the food.

Met up with a high school friend for drinks at the wine bar on the same street and wanted to get dinner after. Second time not willing to wait 1 – 1.5 hours for Delfina down the street so we ended up here. Menu was nothing special. We ordered the following: Bacon Wrapped Dates — bacon looked under cooked, too light for my liking. I like my bacon nice and crispy. Heavy on dried fruit compote, most of it left not eaten. Mac & Cheese with bacon — meh, nothing to write home about except maybe to complain about the cost ~ $ 15 Anchor Porter Braised Beef short rib — bland, dry and I got no peas $ 14.25 The Grove Cubano — nothing cubano about it, lacks bite, also bland, just your typical sandwich Food portions okay, bordering on the small end. Plus side, great service but I would rather have okay service with great food than the other way around. Probably not eating here again. There’s a reason why people are willing to wait hours for a table. One drawback of trying out new places. «Ya never know what you’re gonna get» especially when they have less than 4 stars. I’ll stick to my rule of 4 stars for more.

This is an example of how The Grove(especially pick up orders) can be hit or miss. Haven’t touched the food at all yet, this is just how it came prepared in the to-go box. Eating in and take away should be the same quality. Do better.

Stopped in here for lunch last Friday for the first time. What an awesome place! THEYHAVEBREAKFASTALLDAY. I’m sorry did you not catch that? ALL. DAY. LONG. That’s right. I couldn’t believe it either. My friend and I ended up not being able to decide on just one thing so we decided to split two entrees. One breakfasty item and one lunchy item. FOOD: Avocado Toast with Poached Eggs: YES. incredible! Best avo toast i’ve had. The bread was amazing(baguette like), the avocado was mixed with lemon, salt, and olive oil, and the poached eggs(never had that on avo toast) were the cherries on top. Also came with a side salad. The Californian Hot Dog Platter — YES. Griddled bun, hot dog, tomato, avocado(you can never have too much avo), pickled veggies, jalepenos, and cotija cheese. Idk what this cheese was but this hot dog was to die for. like actually an explosion of flavor in my mouth. i didn’t even need ketchup(which i always always always put on my hot dogs)! Came with chips and a pickle too! DRINKS:(both huge!) Non-Alcoholic Cucumber Ginger Spritzer — YES. so refreshing, almost tasted like one of the many cucumber drinks i get with alcohol. Highly recommend this drink if you want a nice cool drink that doesn’t have the alc. Non-Alcoholic Cranberry Black Tea Sangria(friend ordered) — also delicious! The manager(i’m assuming he was the manager) was so friendly and welcomed us the second we walked in the restaurant and even took our order(you order at the front). While we were eating he also made his rounds asking every table how they were doing and making sure everyone was happy. I loved that! Made the dining experience that much better. Can’t wait to come back.

This is the 2nd Grove location I visited. I’ve been to the Hayes Valley one and it’s also great. My husband and I went here during lunch on a Wed. Right there and then, we are greeted by the staff and was given direction on the process of ordering. Take a menu, find our seat, then go to the line and order and they will bring in our food. I thought it was going to take a long time to get our food but I was wrong, we got it fairly quick and ate and enjoyed it. Great comfort food and lots of choices. The only thing they can do is to change their music to make it in tune with the ambiance. But we will definitely come back.

Went here during peak brunch time on a Saturday. There was a line but not out the door when we got there but it can easily go out the door. A host at the entrance is there to hand you a menu & let you know how it works there. The way it works there: — Order and pay at the cashiers — They hand you a number — Choose a seat — They deliver your food to your table We go lucky finding seats, a lot of people, not so much. They have indoor & outdoor seating but it sure is limited. My suggestion, order for your friend & yourself & have whoever else you’re with find a seat. I ordered the Spinach, Fontina, & Tomato Scramble which is a soft scrambled eggs with fresh spinach, fontina & oven-roasted tomatoes. It was yummy but when I got my food it was lightweight cold. I didn’t mind though because I was starving, lol. Their toast was HUUUUUUGE! The portion wasn’t too big but again, perfect for me :) The hash browns were good as well. There was one guy that was delivering the food & checking up on tables. I noticed that he knew the regulars so he might have been the owner. Either way, owner or not, he was doing a great job. All in all, a great place for brunch.

The Grove is like an old reliable friend. The menu has something for everyone, plenty of comfort food options along with salads and the like. Each Grove location is different inside yet they all have a cozy feeling where you can sit a while with friends and enjoy catching up without feeling rushed. I really feel everything here is good but some of my go-to’s are: fresh squeezed OJ, the Breakfast Special(make sure they give you the butter and jam for the toast), Eggs Benedict, Cobb salad, Berkeley Bowl salad, and the chicken pot pie. The Avocado Toast is also a solid option. The staff is always friendly and it has a friendly, neighborhood vibe.

Any place that can hook me up with the greatness that’s packed into the Berkeley bowl, is legit. The mac and cheese and their chocolate chip cookie are equally tasty. Fun to sit outside and people watch. The Berkeley bowl, you gotta.

I’m giving three stars, mostly for ambiance and pretty decent food, the salads plated in rustic bowls which is unique and with a certain charm. And their lavender lemonade, while pricey at $ 4.00, was deliciously tart. Why only three stars? It appears no one at this restaurant takes care of set-ups(the condiments and salt/pepper shakers to those who haven’t worked in restaurants). Our pepper grinder was empty so I grabbed the one at the empty table behind me. Empty. I took both empty grinders to the counter and said, «These are empty and need to be filled.» Then, I grabbed the pepper mill at the counter– shook it, maybe three peppercorns rolling around the bottom, and I set it rather pointedly on the counter, «This is empty too.» Went to a fourth(empty) table and pepper mill once again, empty. Up to the counter again and stated, «This is the 4th pepper mill I’ve tried to use, it’s also empty» and(I think it was a busser) sarcastically asked, «You want 4 pepper grinders?» «No– just one that’s filled» as I huffed back to my table. At the end of our lunch a server tried to remove my friend’s salad bowl while she was still nibbling and I’d only finished a small portion of mine, probably because I’d spent too much time looking for ground PEPPER! And service 101 dictates you don’t start clearing plates until others at the table have finished eating; I had barely eaten a third of my salad. But what nearly sent me over the edge was when a server came to clear our table, he stacked ANOTHER table’s dirty, empty soup cup and plate on top of MY salad bowl and then stacked my friend’s plate underneath it to carry everything away. I’m sorry, I’ve never seen this disgusting service in a greasy diner muchless at a mid-price point, casual restaurant. It was so gross and uncouth my stomach flipped. Forget finishing that pricey lemonade, I just wanted out of there. Management: Are you paying attention? With all that aggravation and crappy service, so much for enjoying our $ 45 lunch.

Siempre que he pasado lo he visto lleno, buena señal.
