Horrible service. Just left the place. Went in, got seated after a minute, got menus. Said we weren’t ready to order food, but ordered a drink and checked the menu. Drinks arrived, then waited ten minutes for nothing. Just stood there watching NBA Western Conference finals. Eventually made eye contact… And she decided to remove empty dishes from the one table occupied upon our arrival. Paid for drinks n left.

I used to eat here quite a bit(~3 years ago) and it was always fine — not great, but fine if I needed some Pad Thai(my top 5 all time favorite foods). I had heard others say it wasn’t great, but I had no issue — plus, it’s within 30 seconds of my house so the convenience factor is higher than most. Recently I went back for take-out though and ordered the Tom Ka soup, Pad Thai, and a Green Curry with brown rice… and was *beyond* disappointed. The Pad Thai tasted like actual nothing — literally no flavor whatsoever. It was really almost comical. Also, the soup was too sour, and they didn’t even give me a full container’s worth(which in retrospect was fine because it wasn’t good enough to save). The curry was the only thing remotely palatable. I have no complaints about the plain brown rice. Also, the food not ready when I got there(which was 10 mins after they said to arrive) and they were also out of the mango and sticky rice. Disappointing. Step it up, Thai Stick. There are so many competitors in the area(iThai is not even a block away) that you need to really improve if you want to keep my business.

Very very very terrible service. Everywhere it says it’s open until midnight including Unilocal. We’ve been there in eating with no problem up until 11:15 –11:30PM. That’s why we drove all the way from the Excelsior District to eat there. We knew they were open late. This time we go in at 10:40 after spending 15 minutes trying to find a parking spot, The sign was a bright red open sign on the door in neon. We go in and we were told that the kitchen is closed at 10:30PM. Now remember all the website said that they’re open until midnight including Unilocal. She explains to that it was slow tonight they’re closing early but they left their sign on and she didn’t even apologize for the sign be left on for open. She refuses to serve us and then after we leave we go around the block couple times and guess what was still on? The open sign in bright red neon. A restaurant has a responsibility to stay open until the hours that they post to serve their customers because they don’t know where the customer are coming from or what they have to do to park. If they’re slow they can’t close early, because that’s just irresponsible and rude. It really ruined our mood By the way read all my other post and you’ll see I never gave anybody a bad review so I don’t to bad reviews but this place very rude Don’t eat here!!!

It was 8pm and I haven’t had any food the WHOLE day. I decided to pop in here. A mixed review. I ordered the BBQ beef, Kao Pra Grow and Rice. The BBQ beef was actually great and had a korean taste to it. The Kao Pra Grow was too spicy which means you can’t eat it. Service was slow.

I ordered the Thai chicken grilled… It was like eating an emaciated rat… just skin and bones. Plus you had to order steamed rice as extra. The owner did comp my dinner… but I will never go back here again. However the BV Cab was good.

Hour wait for a mediocre plate of fried rice. Service was terrible — don’t come here if you have places to go after dining.

I have been coming to this place for more than four years at this point. Mostly take-out, sometimes to eat in, but I can’t recall an unpleasant experience either way. Takeout has always been appropriately quick, even when ordered through Eat24. Generally too, the food is above average. This is one of our go-to places when we don’t feel like cooking, and it hasn’t failed us yet. Particular highlights on the menu include the My Aunts Egg Rolls, pot stickers, pad kee maw, and most of the curries. My favorite is the yellow curry rice plate with calamari, but they also do a pineapple curry that I really love. Portion sizes are adequate, and they make a good roti for dessert. They have had so much business from me at this point that this five star review is thoroughly deserved.

If I could give no stars I would. Terrible experience — insanely long wait when the restaurant wasn’t even busy. Waited even longer for the food once we ordered– 40 mins for Thai food??? No tables had their food either so wasn’t only our experience. Don’t waste your time

Takes forever to wait for food in the restaurant and dishes come out one by one. So it will be frustrating for you guys if you are going with friends especially.

Flew into sf after a long day, was hungry wanted thai. For being thai food it was a bit in the bland side and a little greasy. I had the red curry w tofu and vegtables. My friend had the shrimp fried rice.

Thai Stick carries a pleasant aroma of thai basil and sweet fish sauce that really stimulates your appetite the longer you stay. Though the restaurant feels a bit worn, it is homely with some beautiful thai antiques. The Gai Yang(thai-style grilled chicken bbq) was smoky and well-seasoned and really complimented the sweet, tangy fish sauce. Add a douse of the freebee chilis, and you’ll create some powerful flavors. This an honest place for some decent thai food, especially for take-out dinner situations.

Low cost /decent food. This not a date place or a fancy place. It’s just above fast food but the food is decent & prices okay, esp for San Francisco. It also doesn’t seem to get too crowded so you can get in & out fairly quickly. The food is a 3.5 and the price is a 4.5 so 4 stars.

Had not ordered from here for about a year and now I remember why. Food has NO flavor at all, other than a stale taste and smell that leaves me nauseous. «Delivery» person has a fit when I ask him to take a 4 floor elevator ride to deliver to my door. You are a DELIVERYPERSON — this is what you do! If it’s a problem, stay your lazy self HOME! I’m tearing up the menu and throwing it out so I don’t make the same mistake a year from now. Save yourself the agony and order elsewhere.

Im here, Right now! I asked: can I get beef bbq over rice and hot tea? Answer: not tea. We r closing soon. Me: any other hot drink? I’m a bit low in sugar and would like something hot? Answer: not. Nothing! Me: the place is empty, heating hot water won’t take much, pls! Answer: no. Nothing! Me: ok. 3 mins later: not more beef bbq over rice. If u want something else, order now and the food has to be to go. What you want? Me: I will need an extra minute. They: we will close soon! Me: I knooowwww. But need to look again. Jeez! End result: not tip bad experience. Very bad service!

You’re starving and want a decent, fast serving, cheap spot, look no further. I stumbled into Thai stick after an exhausting day of tourist stuff. It has a cool Asian décor combined with a coffee shop. They serve all the regulars in Thai spots, pad Thai, pad see ewe etc. The serving size were big and filling. The food was prepared quickly and it did the job. Am I saying take the girl there on your first date? If you get second date after that she’s a keeper. It’s that place to grab a bite with friends or a long time partner.

Don’t order what we order, because they weren’t good. Tasteless pad Thai, we had to ask for peanut sauce to douse it so its consumable. Prawn tomyam soup with only 6 shrimps, with lots of white mushroom and some tomatoes pieces. Overall, not worth it for the price. And i think they use frozen shrimps, weird texture.
