Today is 12÷17÷14 soo I came here… And there were these Asian wannabe thugs in the store who can’t afford $ 1.07 and was getting a hook up from the chick working there with the really faded and out dated dye job on her hair… I might not look chinese and I might use it often but I am fluent. DONTTHINK U CANTALKSHITABOUTMEAND I DONTUNDERSTAND… CUZ I HEARDEVERYEFFINWORD… So unprofessional… Aughh piss me off… Don’t go to the express one

Teaway Express over Teaway any day. I don’t feel the need to go walk down a couple steps to Teaway because I enjoy my boba drink without the toppings. I’d rather just get my boba drink and get out. Teaway Express is a quick fix to your boba craving. Barely any line and without the hassle. What a great deal — Boba for $ 1.07. You can’t go wrong with that. And you get to customize your boba drink to the way you like it. However, Teaway Express doesn’t have that many boba drink options. Hence, the name of the store. My usual: Milk Green Tea with no toppings

The Good: Dollar bubble tea. ‘Nuff said. And their tea is actually pretty good with a rich flavor. It’s sweeter than most so ask for less sugar if you’re not looking for dessert. All the classic flavors are available and the boba is self-serve, so you can customize your drink however you’d like. The Bad: Their boba is off. It’s chewy, really soft, and completely flavorless. Not even a hint of sweetness. It’s not inedible, but definitely not what you’d expect, either. Don’t Forget: To check that you’re in Teaway express, not one of the other two Teaway shops on the same block!

Good for a quick, cheap cup of milk tea. Their drink is actually pretty good — it’s sweet, but you can still taste a strong tea flavor. However, I’d stay away from the boba, which usually tastes bland and overcooked. PRICING: A+ Can’t beat $ 1.07 for milk tea and boba. SERVICE: A– Staff is usually friendly and nice, although some of the workers seem like they dont care about their job. DRINK: A– Good solid milk tea. Perfect sweetness while maintaining a strong tea flavor. BOBA: D They offer large and small tapioca. Both of them are bad. Bland, tasteless, and too soft.

Milk tea with tapioca is ridiculously cheap. Cheaper than their regular TeaWay store just a few doors down… Not sure why. Their tapioca balls have no taste to them. I’ve been here twice and I don’t understand why I came back the second time. It curbs the cravings but not so well… I would rather pay more money for Tpumps down the street. Servers are nice though!

I know this place if cheaper and it might sound good but its not. You really get what you pay for in life. Got food poisoning here because I thought I could be «EXPRESS» about my tapioca. Please go to the regular Teaway just a block away or go to a real Tapioca place. As you may already know, when you order your drinks here, you can tell it’s not a quality decent tapioca. This is evident by the diluted milk colored looking white sugary water drink. You can’t even taste the tea. This is also evident by the care-the-fuck-less and lifeless clerk who take your order. I understand retail sucks. Especially one that makes less than minimum wage. Please, save yourself the pain and go to a real Tapioca place. I learned the hard way.

Why are there so many Tea Ways in a two block radius?! I was directed here because I was originally told that the Tea Way next door didn’t have any large tapioca. Lo and behold, they didn’t either. So we finally just got a $ 1 drink without any boba. Why did she still hand me the cup and wait for us to put it on the counter so she can fill it? What makes it worse is that after we put the cup on the counter, we still had to wait because she went to go do something else! I also had not realized that their kitchen closed even though we were contemplating whether or not to get popcorn chicken aloud so I would only assume she heard us. So we had to walk to the other Teaway to get popcorn chicken.

If there’s nothing open, you need a quick boba fix, and you have cash at hand then Teaway Express is a decent place to go. I used to go to Teaway frequently in the past and visited recently to find that they now only serve a limited menu of milk tea with only boba — not including any of the jellies, pudding, etc. that they used to offer. Not only do they only have boba and selected milk teas but they now have a line limiting how much boba you can put in. If you go over the line you’re charged. The workers here are never happy. They just want you in and out so don’t expect any smiles or a «hi!» from anyone. There’s tons of parking in the area, but it can be really popular since there’s numerous restaurants and shops on this street so finding a spot can take awhile.

I’m going to go straight to the point. This place isn’t your average sit-down, «let’s grab a drink and catch up» kind of place. It’s extremely tiny, but you really can’t beat the price. $ 1.07 for several different flavors of boba milk tea? What a deal!(kinda reminds me of Taiwan) Anyways, this place doesn’t really have a line so you can literally go in and out, hence the«Express». Although i’m a huge fan of cheap prices, this is definitely one of those cases in which ‘you get what you pay for’. Me and my group of friends decided that we wanted to try most if not all the flavors on their menu(regular, jasmine, coffee, vanilla, etc). HOWEVER, they all pretty much tasted the same, but at least it wasn’t bad. The boba in the little buckets that you’re meant to fill by yourself was Overall, you can expect to find some okay boba milk tea at super affordable prices. I honestly wouldn’t mind switching out my occasional drink for one of these since I’d probably end up saving a lot more money.

Taro is nice and creamy. Milk green tea tasted lighter and«refreshing.» Self-serve boba that’s soft & chewy(I have definitely been to places where they’re tough!). I am by no means a boba connoisseur, but for $ 1.07, this is pretty damn good!

$ 1.07 for a regular sized milk tea with boba… Why is this deserving of 4 stars? 1. It’s cheap. 2. It’s better than Quickly’s 3. There’s rarely a line. 4. Excellent milk tea — really. 5. Self serve boba! And okay, sometimes they run out of boba, but that’s never happened to me yet, so I’m not going to complain. LAHVIT

Milk green tea was pretty good for $ 1 and change, at least it tasted like tea. Pearls were mushy, but I guess they’ve probably been sitting around for awhile. I don’t think you can customize the tea here, they’re just from huge vats. The hot version is lukewarm, probably just microwaved, and insufficiently so.

Don’t waste your dollar. I guess I shouldn’t expect much for a place that sells boba for just a dollar, but the next time I’m in the neighborhood I will gladly pay $ 3+ for a boba drink that isn’t just scooped out of a bucket. Even though they tout the«DIY» jellies and what not, they only had boba when we went. I also know that someone who works at a place that is the size of a bathroom and sells $ 1 boba drinks probably wouldn’t be the cheeriest or eager to please customers, but the young girl who worked there was not very accommodating or pleasant. I complained about my drink after one sip and she argued with me and insisted that I just pay for another one.

Tea = delicious!!! Boba = delicious! Prices = reasonable. Service = slow.(They make the tea, you fill up the boba to your heart’s content.) I’ll be back for more!

Damn girl, didn’t your mama teach you how to smile? Or maybe drinking milk tea all day caused you to lose all your teeth. If you’ve been here, I’m sure you know who I’m talking about. I’ve been here many times, and I always order in bulk because the milk tea is so cheap and pretty good quality. For 99 cents you have a few choices of different milk teas or green teas(hot or cold). You can also get big or small boba(none of the fancy bobas or pudding however). The reason for the deduction of stars is because of the service. The girl who runs this place NEVER smiles and is kind of mean. I asked her if the hot drinks are .99 cents also and she snapped at me «YESBUTITTAKES A LONGTIME!» Being a cheap asian I responded«Damn girl, I’ll take 5.» I do give her credit however for being such a hard worker. She runs the entire store on her own and I always see her running back and forth between tea way and tea way express without any breaks while the other employees inside tea way are always laughing and relaxing while she restocks everything. Overall, Tea Way Express is cheap, fast and good quality for the price.

Teaway Express located literally two buildings down from Teaway. The Express is like Teaway but with only six choices of drinks and fishballs to choose. They’re cheaper than Teaway which is the only thing going for them. It’s more of a hole in the wall than Teaway. The milk tea is pretty good. It’s a bit sweet, but a bit watery. There’s only tapioca balls to put into the milk tea here. Their customer service is very lacking here and the service is SOSLOW… Also you can’t use the frequent customer card at the Express.

Still cheap, still a deal, still convenient… but WOW do they need to work on their customer service! I swear, every time I come in here to buy a boba tea it just keeps getting worse. While I can’t deny that a one-dollar boba is a steal, I’m really getting turned off by the unfriendly, cold and quite rude service by their staff. I know not to expect much, but a smile and a ‘thank you’ could make such a huge difference. Something for the management to take note on…

My buddy was having his«housewarming» party in Sunset(really it was his last week there) and we went shopping for all the food and drinks and such. Along the way, some of the folks insisted on getting some boba and wanted to try Tea Way. I’ve never been before, but would be surprised by the interesting new biz model inside. Basically, you order whatever drink you want at a fixed price and then add whatever kind of mix-ins you wish. I ordered the almond milk tea and at $ 1.99, it was the least expensive one I’ve ever bought. Then I went to the mix-in bar and added boba and mango pudding(a weird combo, I know) and they topped it off with tea. Still only about $ 2! The tea itself was decent and really can’t be beaten at that price, and the toppings were alright too. Nothing was mind-blowing and you don’t come to a place like this for the quality, but for the fix instead. Overall, pretty satisfied with the drink and the choice of mix-ins. The express shop itself is tiny so it’s standing room only and you’ll want to clear out as soon as you get your drink. There’s a sit down location a few doors down, but if you just want to drop in and out, express is the way to go. Food: 6⁄10 Service: 6⁄10 Price: $ Atmosphere: 6⁄10

The drinks are the same here as the original one two doors down. Service is fast for drinks but extremely slow and horrible for crepes. Came here on a Tuesday night ordered a green tea crêpe with nutella and strawberries. The crêpe was way too crispy that it was almost burnt. It was crumbling apart when I got it. The girl making it was the only one working and it was pretty busy. She offered to remake it but I had already waited 20 mins I didn’t want to wait even longer for another one. It lacked nutella but had plenty of strawberries. The crêpe wasn’t even green tea batter she made it with original batter. :(she didn’t get the order right. I think if try had more workers then they would fulfill the purpose of a express shop. One worker making drinks and crepes doesn’t make it an express shop. Also if they improve their crêpe making skills I would most likely give the crepes another shot.

I’ve never understood the hype or reason for the constant crowds at Teaway. I’d been there once and was not impressed, but was intrigued after learning of Teaway Express. What was the difference between the two, when they’re only one storefront(they sandwich(heh heh) my fav Vietnamese sandwich joint) apart? The only difference, I gather, is Express offers freshly made crepes, but, good Lord, at a snail’s pace. Teaway’s signature self-serve tapioca drinks are also available here. I began to write this review as I waited for my crêpe. I had hoped it wouldn’t take as long as the poor guy next to me, with whom I had struck up a convo. He’d been waiting an hour — an HOUR — for his two crepes, which he was buying for his sister(the ice in the drink he had also bought her had long since melted), not even for himself! What a nice guy. I wish I had talked to him before forking over $ 3.27 for my green tea crêpe with nutella, kiwi, and whipped cream(additional $ 0.99 if you also opt for ice cream), but by this point, there was no turning back. At least I made a friend. Half an hour later, my crêpe was finally ready. The crêpe was crunchy, lacking in green tea flavor, and was«filled» with nutella, four kiwi slices, and a squirt of whipped cream. Needless to say, definitely not mind-blowing and certainly not worth the thirty minutes of my life I’ll never get back. Dang it, Teaway, fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice…
