**Scroll to the bottom for the TLDR** Despite the bad reviews, I decided to come to Tea Me to grab some boba and a crêpe before work. At first glance, the place does look cramped. Although no one was there besides me and my girlfriend, it looked like there were too many chairs and tables to fit in the small area. When we walked in, we were humbly greeted by the gentlemen behind the counter. He asked us if it was our first time and that if we needed help deciding on anything to ask him any questions. What I really liked is that he said, «As long as we have the ingredients, we can make it for you.» That is a very rare statement that you won’t hear at many other places. I ordered a Nutella and strawberry crêpe with Vanilla ice cream and a Thai Iced Tea with boba which came to $ 10 flat which I would say is not too expensive but not cheap either. I really enjoyed the crêpe because instead of a soft wrap it had a little crunch to it. It may not be like other creperies but I really liked it. It came full of strawberries, a nice spread of nutella and of course the Mitchell’s vanilla ice cream in the middle. Overall, pretty good crêpe that you could probably get at other places. The Thai Tea was average. Nothing that really popped out as different from something you could get at your typical boba place such as Tea Way or Quickly. I’d give three and half stars because that’s what I really think they deserve. But I don’t think Tea Me deserves two and half stars. So I give a four star hoping to get the ratings up because this place is not as bad as the reviews are. TLDR Although many will be driven away by the bad reviews, don’t be afraid to give Tea Me a chance. The customer service was great. The crêpe’s are full and the boba isn’t bad either. It’s worth the visit.

I’m still usually able to drink milk tea, no matter how disgusting, but this was a different level for me. My stomach could not down more than three sips of their black or jasmine milk tea. I don’t think even the boba was edible. If you’re thinking of coming here, just don’t. Do your stomach a favor and go to the Quickly’s down the street instead. 0 stars. Even the service was terrible.

Went in here and got a taro milk tea. The woman at the counter was kind of rude. When she brought me my drink, it was kind of warm. I don’t know if there was too much flavor powder in it or what, but the drink was super chalky and had a really gross taste, and the boba was pretty hard. Additionally, they didn’t drain the goop off the boba, so the bottom third of the cup was murky gray boba muck. Super gross. I had gotten their largest size, and I couldn’t even drink it. I threw it away in a public trash can a block away. Waste of money. Honestly, your best bet is to go to Quicklys.

Don’t go this place. It’s nasty. The women drop the ice scoop and she picked up and continue to use it without washing it. And when I mention it, she just turn around and tell me that it’s ok if she pick up something that’s on the floor less than 10 sec. Omg, that’s disgusting. Never go this place again even it’s free. 0 star if I can.

This review is for the boba milk tea. the milk tea and boba were just awful. They used powder milk. They gave very little ice… I saw the lady who made my drink used one of the towels that they use to wipe the tables with to wipe my drink down because she over poured the milk tea. After she wiped my drink down, she used it to wipe the leftover residue on the table… I do not want to ever go back.

after taking that first sip from my strawberry black milk tea, i can tell you it wasn’t great. it’s worst than«quickly’s» strawberry black milk tea(if that’s even possible). i guess i’ve been spoiled by «tpumps.» save your money folks.

This place is disgusting. Ordered a taro milk tea thinking anything would be better than Quickly’s, but I’d rather go there over TeaMe any day. It was super watered down, I was basically drinking purple water. One star for the decent service because the woman who works there is pretty friendly.

Easy to order when your new. I came here from school originally headed to McDonald’s because I like tea. The lady helped me decide what I wanted since they have a large menu. They are fast, efficient, and delicious. Nothing bad to say about it!

My sister ordered a regular milk tea, I had a jasmine milk tea, and our friend had a peppermint milk tea. OMG this is the nastiest milk tea place I’ve ever had. Even Quickly’s is better(and Quickly’s specials are cheaper too!) although I don’t prefer them either. We watched them make our drinks using milk powder from tubs for all milk teas and flavored syrup for the peppermint milk tea. GROSS !! Peppermint milk tea tasted like medicine blech. All drinks tasted completely WATERED down and the tapioca balls had a water flavor. A complete disappointment and total deception from the earlier reviews. Nasty drinks. Do not go. Free WiFi though.

This place looks like someone’s messy living room with some furniture haphazardly put together and the counter looks cluttered. I wouldn’t be enticed to hang out here even if they offer free wifi. But I guess you can’t beat the $ 1.99 black milk tea they have advertised on the wall. It is REALLY watered down though. The boba is soft and chewy, even fresh I might say. Sadly, this place is a one-hitter quitter for me.

Wow. People are damn harsh about this place! First, patrons need to consider the location. The only competition here is craptastic Quickly’s. Sure, you get more bang for your buck, but it’s just instant powders and syrups with a side of diabetes. Secondly, if you’re a starving broke college student, Tea Me has grand opening specials for $ 1.99. While I’m not a starving broke college student, I am however, a starving broke adult. $ 1.99 for a black milk tea w/boba just doesn’t seem so bad especially when the black tea is brewed fresh. I will agree with the low rating reviewers that they need to put more ice and boba. Although my black tea was freshly brewed, my drink itself was still too watered down. More steep time? Then again, I am only paying $ 1.99 so I can’t really complain all too much. Once the promo prices are over I hope you do put more balls in there. I love me some balls. Haters will hate, but if I need a boba fix in this area you can Tea Me up any damn day over Quickly’s.

Dear Unilocal Administrators, I totally agree with J E’s review regarding the owner having family members and friends write these 5 stars reviews. I would have given it two stars, but I felt duped and deceived after my mediocre experience. I have been craving tapioca and decided to try Tea Me since it had 4 stars. I think the 5 star reviews need to be reviewed and flagged… Here’s my experience upon entering the place was dirty looking and dark. The service was a bit slow, but maybe I came at the wrong time as there were a few CCSF students ahead of me. I was already not impressed with what saw… drinks being handed out with little or no tapioca, 2 melted cubes of ice and the cups being partially filled(about an inch away from the top of the cup) I ordered a Milk Tea Tapioca and I already knew what to expect, as I was waiting, a customer went up to the counter and asked for some napkins, the girl behind the counter gave ONE napkin the size of a toilet paper square, the customer asked for a few more then specified«3 more» since she knew she would probably get another toilet square. The girl behind the counter literally counted 3 napkins and gave it to the customer. This customer had already paid too. its not like a lot of «fake» customers who pretend they’re going to buy something in order to get something for free then«change their mind» So I’m watching my tea get made, and just as I expected a partially filled cup with about 10 tapioca pearls. The milk tea itself tasted alright, perhaps a little watered down. I just wanted more tapioca pearls since thats what I wanted. If I just wanted milk tea I would have just ordered that. Final verdict: This place is stingy. Lets not cut too many corners here and try to maximize your profits. You need to give your customers an incentive to want to come back.

If you don’t have a back window for air circulation then at least turn on your AC. Despite the wind, you are right next to a busy street and all the dust blows in since you insist to keep that damn door open… Your furnitures are a mess, do you have anyone organize them or its just your messy culture? Not sure if your drinks are a bargain compare to your competitors around the area, but at least install some damn power mounts on the wall. Free Wifi but no power… How the hell am i suppose to use your Wifi without power? You are a mess!!!

This is a merely a review for the black milk tea(no tapioca). I really wanted to like this place since it’s in my area, close to home and all. I was a bit disappointed though. The nice thing is that they do make your milk tea right in front of you but the drink was very watered down and the tea flavor is very light. And for those that want to know, they use milk powder for their drinks. If the drinks had more tea and slightly more syrup I think it would taste better. As for ambiance, they have a seating area where people could chill or study, but the lighting isn’t so great. Place looks a little cluttered. Could look cleaner and more organized.

Yet another tapioca milk tea place has opened… Tea Me is a new hangout spot for CCSF students. It has boba milk tea(brewed tea with flavor syrups), tea, smoothies, coffee, sandwiches(turkey, roast beef, etc.), crepes and bagels. I was hoping for some popcorn chicken but didn’t spot any Asian snacks. I think the boba drinks come in one size. There’s free wi-fi but the place looks cluttered and unattractive. I had to weave my way through randomly placed furniture to get to the register. * Green milk tea with pearls($ 2.75): The tapioca balls are an extra 50 cents. The drink had a nice, non-bitter tea flavor but was watery and not flavorful enough. Half the cup was filled with ice. The tapioca balls were pretty good — chewy, sweet and fairly fresh. Three stars might be generous given how watery the drink was but the balls were good.

I’m pretty sure the owners have family members writing 5 star reviews for this establishment because my experience was definitely not 5 stars. in fact, «Meh, I’ve experienced better» is a pretty accurate description for Tea Me. I came here on a Tuesday afternoon at around 4pm and discovered that it wasn’t crowded. Upon entering, there seemed to be a ton of tables and chairs so people could lounge around or even study, which is great for surrounding schools nearby. From the reviews, it seemed like they sold boba drinks, so I was looking for their boba menu. Instead, I saw a huge menu for sandwiches and it turned out that their menu for boba drinks was a small menu off to the side with various milk teas to choose from. I ended up ordering a Thai Tea with boba(extra 50 cents) My total was $ 2.75 Thai Tea — The Thai Tea was so watered down and they didn’t even give me a full cup! The Thai Teas I normally have are smooth, creamy, and sometimes milky, but Tea Me’s version was watery and disgusting. Their boba was alright, but nothing special. I also noticed that there were black grains of God knows what floating at the bottom of cup. Let’s just hope it was tea! Overall, I don’t think I would come back and give Tea Me another try. Whoever said Tea Me is better than Purple Kow and Tpumps is crazy. If the milk teas are anything like their Thai Tea, then I highly doubt that Tea Me is «better» than Purple Kow or Tpumps. and that’s coming from a boba enthusiast. 2 stars for the friendly lady working, but no stars for their watered down Thai Tea.
