Taraval Nails

This place is probably the worst place to get your nails done. They didn’t take their time nor do they payed attention to detail. The place isn’t clean too. Nails were different shape and only got 2 coats of nail polish, didn’t cover the whole nail. It was just all bad. I won’t be coming back.

I am new to the bay and got a mani/​pedi here about a week ago. The prices were reasonable and my pedicure was nice. My manicure, however, lasted only 2 days. I fear they substitute name brand nail polish with generic brands of nail polish. When I got another manicure today at a different place, I noticed the very light, soft pink nail polish from Taraval Nails had stained my nails. This was a first for me. Generally light colors don’t stain my nails and I’ve never had an issue in the past with Essie brand staining my nails.

Very clean and professional nail salon. Coming here many years. Bee is doing great job for my mani/​pedi. She is friendly and polite with her customers.

Came on lunch break with my girl, and she sat us both down right away. They were friendly and talkative and relatively quick. We both were really satisfied with how our nails came out, my acrylics were about $ 25 and her gel manicure was about $ 12. Good price, good nail quality, it’s a small place but still manageable. I’m guessing mother & daughter duo did ours and they were both really nice. ((Check out the pic with me and my girl))

DO NOT GO HERE. THIS PLACE HAS VERY RUDE ATTENDANTS. I got my eyebrow wax and she did a very bad job. Worst part was when she pulled my skin off trying to pluck some hair out. She was not even apologetic about it. She could not understand what I asked her to do so she blamed my English… Also since I am visiting she told me that this is how it happens here you know less. I wanted to walk out immediately… HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE

I absolutely love this place. Family business with a very clean, fast and accurate performance. I’ve been going to this place every two weeks for almost three years.

I’ve been coming here for years. The place is clean, the people are great, they get the job done quick, and they’re so gentle the whole time. (like, I’m not even kidding, their hands are crazy soft) The family that runs this joint is super nice, very efficient, and knows what they’re doing.
I didn’t get my nails done too often back in the day, but when I did, it was usually for an event and my nails were short and ugly. So I would come here in between classes and get some acrylics. They look great, they’re what you would expect and they stay for a long time.
Now, me and my friends (guys too) go there all the time to get regular mani-​pedis. They have a wide range of fun colors, textures, and gels. AND on slow days, they like to play movies for us to watch :) Always a good time.

Love Love Love Taraval Nails!!! Be and Christine are the best! They’re so accommodating! They always have a smile for me when I walk in! I’ve been going to Be ever since she opened up shop… I will absolutely will not go anywhere else for a mani pedi!!!

I would highly recommend Taraval Nails and have been going here for almost 3 years now… they are always polite, fit me in when they are busy and do a great job… clean and sanitary nail salon… one of the best in the city!!! Try them, you won’t be disappointed! I have no clue why the other bad reviews, I don’t see how those pictures or comments are even the same salon I go to!!!

Taraval Nails is the WORST Nail Salon I’ve ever stepped foot in to in my life. Although they’ve moved they’re still the same people. I had an absolutely horrible experience here, quite possibly the worst nail service EVER. The woman that did my nails was terribly rude, nasty, unskilled, & very cruel to me. She hurt my nails and fingers, leaving them bleeding, & nearly made me cry. I was treated horribly at Taraval Nails.
I walked in wanting a custom Gel Manicure, with a simple design that require some artistic skill & I had explained to her precisely the design that I wanted. I even showed her a photograph.
She told me she would take care of me, but instead she did an absolutely SLOPPY job on my nails. When she started applying the colour to my nails, I could tell that she was doing an ugly, messy job & that is when I confronted her. After telling her that I was extremely unhappy, she threw a Tantrum & started shouting at me in front of everyone.
She told me that I was too ‘particular’ & that I ought to go somewhere else, which was clearly unprofessional. I was desperate on a Sunday afternoon & needed nice nails for a presentation on Monday & that was the only reason that I stepped foot in Taraval; & that they are also close to where I live.
I told her to remove it and then she literally, verbally abused me while she was rubbing it off. I got up immediately & did not let her finish the other hand. I shouldn’t have paid her at all, but I was completely shocked & traumatized & hadn’t found a Nail Salon that I liked at the time.
Out of all of the businesses I have reviewed in SF, Taraval Nails is definitely the worst — 0 stars. I have nothing but horrific memories of my experience with this business. Based on their other Practice, I am not the first (or unfortunately the last) customer that has had/​will have this experience, sadly!
