I contacted sf rock posters because I had an extremely rare doors poster that I wanted to sell. A man answered the phone and I started to tell him what I had for sale. I had a person that was interested in buying the poster but I wanted some solid info before I went about selling it. The rude guy on the other end of the line proceeded to tell me that he «didn’t care what I had” — because I already had someone interested in buying it. I was shocked by the response of the employee and the rude tone in his voice. Especially when they advertise on their website that they share the knowledge. After being rude and telling me he had no interest in helping me out… told him what poster I was selling. Its incredible how fast that guy changed the tone in his voice once he realized I had an unreleased poster that was worth $ 5000+ Don’t go here, these guys are unhelpful dealers of overpriced«art»

I thought this place would be like one of those pseudo head shops that popped into existence around the time the«counterculture» went mainstream and Greg Brady wore a peace sign. You know, nauseating patchouly scent, black lights, lavalamps. Some white guy with an afro and square granny glasses going on about how great it was, even though he was in Pensauken New Jersey during the Summer of Love. In junior high. Boy was I wrong. This place is a treasure hall. I mean it; the posters are amazing, both the classic 60’s and 70’s AND the stuff being produced today. But then there’s the ephemera-tickets, buttons, booklets, mini comix, and just weird stuff. And the guys there know all the stories behind it all. THATS the real treasure. I spent two hours and several hundred dollars on my first visit alone. Sure you can deal with ‘em online, but why bother? To coin a phrase, «the trip’s the thing». Oh yeah, if you have something framed, use their people. Who knew framing was a fine art?

Great collection of old rock posters. They have pretty much anything you could want from the 60s and 70s, and the guy who runs it seems to be really knowledgeable about the posters. I’m not an expert, but I have heard that the prices are pretty fair for a shop in such a touristy location.
