Conor has the best taste and will always find you the most unique things !!! While his shop is now closed — he is still available for design and antique consultations and can locate truly lovely things for your home or office. Also, his San Francisco Terrain is a great gift !!!

One of the truly unique art and antique shops in the city. Every item selected by owner Conor Fennessy comes with a story, and it’s a grand one. Conor has a wonderful eye; knows what he’s selling; finds unusual and charming items; has sophisticated taste. His knowledge of the local North Beach arts scene is unmatched – the real thing, not the tourist version.

I found this shop by accident and have been addicted to it for 2 years. To be honest, I find Conor to be the most interesting item in the shop — he’s gracious, chatty, knowledgeable and slightly bawdy — but he doesn’t detract from the outstanding collection of unique antiques. Yes, it’s expensive. I’ve bought only two items here and had to pass on several others. But if you enjoy unusual items — folk art, imported glass, fantastic furniture, ‘60s relics — and can afford them, this is the place for you.

conor really gets it. i love his style. you pay for what you get. it can be expensive but his pieces are so unique. i want everything in his store. i will always shop there. you spend a little more and it will last a life time. you’ll find something spectacular every time. chairs to original art, hand held forget me nots. an environment of beauty. why should he haggle with his prices, it takes a lot of work to offer such treasures.

First, the location is a real negative for this shop. Mainly tourist land and drunk straight people. Second, the prices reflect more rich folks , than the middle class neighborhood. Third, Conor is ok, but can become quite pushy for a sale if you linger too long in the shop. Now, for the good stuff — most of the inventory is original, eclectic, and more sophisticated than most antique stores in SF. Definitely more a NYC style than a SF style. Now for the bad stuff — I always like something here, but Conor is not that willing to negotiate price. Thus, I have never bought anything here. Would like to, but just too high priced. Ironically, the items I longed for, but were too expensive, continue to remain in the shop many months later. Same price, no sale. So come on Conor, get a bit more realistic pricing for recession 2009, lower your prices, and you will have many more paying and returning loyal customers.

The fantasy: I buy all the interesting, unique items I’ve found in this shop over the years. The reality: I can’t afford the prices. I LOVE this shop. It is full of fascinating stuff and the owner — Conor — is interesting to talk to. I always make a point to stop in when I am in SF.

Conor has an amazing eye. Not sure what the last reviewer was looking at but this is not a junk shop. Conor hand picks each piece and finds great stuff that is really original from hand blown vases to antique chairs. I have purchased some amazing prints from him at very reasonable prices considering their quality. Check this place out, its a real find.
