No more Banh mi sandwiches and no more Vietnamese spring rolls, boo hoo. Let’s start a petition and ask for them back!

I don’t normally post Unilocal reviews, but I wanted to pop in to let everyone know that Seacliff no longer offers their amazing bahn mi :(:(:( For real, these sandwiches were amazing and a steal at $ 3.50. They told me the sandwiches just weren’t selling enough and it wasn’t worth it to keep the deli open. So please, if you like their sandwiches, don’t post a Unilocal review, go in to the store and TELLTHEM you liked their sandwiches, and maybe, just maybe, they’ll bring them back.

Seacliff Liquor is a wonderful asset to the community. if one has to drive and park here, it’s inconveninet cuz everything is metered here. attractions: deli(banh mi sammies) korean goods, hard liquors, some micros, lotto tics, ice cream, lots of wines, etc. buys: amazon tea(.99) on draught: –4 stars for a ‘hood asset, –3.5 stars for a driveby, diverse offerings.

Popped in because our waitress at another place down the street recommended it for a bahn mi. Not great but not bad. certainly a good sandwich at $ 3.50.

Amazing bahn mi sandwiches(had 8 in 2 days — that’s how much I loved them). You can get 3 kinds — pork, chicken, or vegetarian. I had to try them all. Pork — my least favorite. Wasn’t a huge fan of the meat. Chicken — was really good. A bit salty. Vegetarian — simply the best! Did I mention it’s the best??? Comes with tofu, eggplant, green peppers plus all the toppings. All the vegetables are grilled fresh! The bread is fresh and crispy. All the toppings were amazing. Make sure you ask for jalapenos — they’re fresh, not out of a jar. They have buy 3 get the 4th free — $ 10.50 for 4 sandwiches. One suggestion — call in your order before you go. Wait time can be brutal!

I used to buy kimbap from this store way back when during high school so I was surprised to read reviews about banh mi being sold here now. I’m guessing the store changed a bit because I remember upon entering the store, the cashier was on the left side along with the kimbap, and now it’s on the right side. Aside from the liquor store goods, they now sell shrimp rolls and banh mi(chicken, pork or veggie). According to their menu, more items are to come. The shrimp rolls can be found packaged up by the cashier, and the banh mi can be ordered at the back of the store. $ 3.50 for one of their sandwiches is a steal! I tried both the pork and chicken and while both were good, the pork had an intense and delicious lemongrass flavor. Each sandwich was loaded with veggies and had this pretty good special sauce that was slightly sweet and had an earthy flavor like cooked down onions or mushrooms. I found their jalapenos to be extra seedy, therefore extra spicy. On an ending note, the bread kept the roof of my mouth in tact. I’ll be back.

This place really surprised me ! When I walked in looking for the little banh mi counter, I wasnt expecting much, but when i started watching how the worker make my food, ask me questions to make sure to get my order right, and put plenty of meat on my banh mi, my spirits were awakening. Finally when i recieved my pork sandwhich, not only was it made right, the flavor was light and yummy, the bread was crunchy but didn’t rip open my gums, and the veggies were fresh! This place is a great place to get food and your liquor at the same time for super cheap. Summing things up! 1) Prices: super cheap, nothing over 3.50 2) good service 3) did not get my order wrong(usually with banh mi i get pissed off 4) easy and fast 5) getting my liquor on with food within a minute ! Ps: this place isn’t worth driving to if you are in mission or sunset, just go here if you are in the area and u want cheap banh mi that is good. The liquor store is a plus!

This place is amazing. It’s a liquor store, pretty unassuming when you first see, it but in the back they have a small counter, and it’s at this counter that you can find some of the best banh mi I’ve ever had(and I’ve tried banh mi from dozens of places around the city). Warning: I will only be talking about the vegetarian banh mi from here on out, but I seriously recommend that some of you carnivores give it a try, it’s delicious. I’m a vegetarian, and vegetarian banh mi are usually standard wherever you get them: tofu, carrots, cucumber, spicy soy sauce or mayo, cilantro, etc. But here they really go above and beyond. They add freshly grilled eggplant as well as roasted bell peppers, amazing and innovative! I know, it doesn’t sound like a perfect fit, but all the flavors come together and make an AWESOME banh mi. They go out on a limb here, and their efforts are definitely worth it. I highly recommend this place; and call ahead, there’s like one chair and if someones in it you have to walk around awkwardly looking at alcohol and noodles. I know. I’ve done it. In conclusion, this place deserves five stars in my opinion, but I’m trying to diversify my ratings, so here we are.

Its hole-in-the-wall places like this that make me love the Richmond District. While Seacliff Liquor and Deli is actually a functional market, carrying such life necessities as Toilet Paper, Lotto Tickets, Craft Beer(6.50 for a Drake’s Denogginizer), and Ramen(including packages of Shin Noodle Black for the ramen connoisseur), the real magic comes from the tiny deli in the back of the shop, where superb Banh Mi are served for 3.50 apiece. My Grilled Chicken Banh Mi came filled with flavorful, juicy, ginger infused thigh meat, plenty of piquant Jalapenos, pickled carrots, and a slightly spicy sauce spread upon a sturdy french roll before toasting. The grilled pork is pretty outstanding as well, properly grilled and extremely tender, featuring slightly caramelized scallions and lemongrass. The quality is incredible considering that these sandwiches are coming from a kitchen the size of a walk-in closet and with meat cooked using what is basically a panini press. Even if they’re not as inventive as some of the other Banh Mi that can be found in San Francisco they certainly rank with the Tenderloin’s finest as some of the best, basic sandwiches in The City. Highly recommended for a cheap, fast, and remarkably tasty meal.

Hmm… beers, sandwiches and ice cream… less than a mile to Baker beach… did someone say«instant picnic»? I wish I knew about this place sooner. Behind the unassuming convenience store lies the best Bahn Mi west of Van Ness! Grilled chicken is my favorite. Chicken’s flavorful, the bread is GREAT, comes with all the normal bahn mi toppings, plus these crunchy things that are so good and I don’t know what they area(it’s probably better that way because I would OD on them). Buy their bahn mi– you can not spend $ 3.50 and be more satisfied anywhere. I noticed that they have a great variety of beers; you could go here if you want to find a special bottle from your favorite brewery. Pretty big selection of wines and liquors too. The people working here are really nice.

-$ 3.50 for two huge vietnamese spring rolls, freshly-made on the same day, too much vermicelli and not as tightly-wrapped for my liking, but good value overall. –Cheap sake. –Really nice little asian lady. Didn’t notice the labels till afterwards, but could you die from eating a box of mochi ice cream that’s been expired for a few months?

Stumbled upon this place while I was looking for a place to satisfy my Vietnamese sandwich craving. Saw that they made Vietnamese sandwiches so I gave it a try. Pro: They have a buy 3 get the 4th free deal Sandwiches have more meat than most places Service is friendly You can call in and pick up your sandwiches later, so you don’t have to wait in line. yay! The jalapenos are actually spicy! Con: They only have3 options; bbq chicken, bbq beef, and vegetarian. The flavor doesn’t taste like the typical Vietnamese sandwich, since the meat taste more like gingery than anything else. would I come back? yes, only because of the 3 for 4 deal. :P

Oh hell Yesssss! I’ll have two please! This is my neighborhood liquor and deli store that makes unbelievably fresh and various perfectly bundled BAHNMI vietnamese sandwiches for 3.50! This is the perfect bread to meat to jalapeño ratio(no pâté’) They also have fresh spring rolls with peanut sauce too! This store is so clean and organized… they carry the essentials and the wine array is a beauty. I’m so impressed with the people as well… very nice. I swear I turn into a bahn mi addict every time I’m in there.(Also– buy 3 sandwiches, get 1 free for now. Not sure how long its going to last.) Definitely worth a visit to get your fix in!

Clean store, great selection of wine, but best of all, they make fresh BAHNMI sandwiches at their deli counter in the back. They have 3 types of sandwiches and spring rolls. Everything is $ 3.50 — buy 3 and get 1 free. For sandwiches, they offer grilled pork, grilled chicken and vegetarian. I’m a grilled pork loyalist so I can’t comment on the other two. Highly, highly recommend coming here to get your bahn mi fix. It’s about the equivalent to Saigon Sandwich on the bread and overall taste.

Legit Banh Mi west of the Tenderloin. Although I live in the Outer Sunset w/numerous joints selling ‘banh mi,’ I prefer trekking out to the Richmond to get my hands on Seacliff’s banh mi’s. They do everything right here from the bread, meats, and pickled veggies. Generous helpings of meat too! Closer to a real Vietnamese sandwich. I feel like an alcoholic whenever I drop by this place.

$ 3.50 banh mi — pork, chicken are amazing. have not tried the vegetarian the meat to vegetable ratio is perfect, and these sandwiches are huge(think subway footlong) I recommend calling ahead 5 minutes with your order, especially if you are ordering multiple. Not much to look at in the store while waiting.

My husband and I ordered 3 Vietnamese sandwiches — 2 pork and 1 chicken. Both were very tasty and quite large and for $ 3.50 you really can’t go wrong. I think this will be a new regular lunch spot for us!

Just ordered 8 sandwiches and 1 vermicelli plate. It took over 1 hr. That’s why its 4 stars. I was famished from the wait!!! If you know me, you know this is a no-no. I get HANGRY!!! So please call in advance to order your sandwich if your ordering a few. $ 3.50 for a pork or chicken Vietnamese sandwich. Reasonably priced. Vermicelli plate is $ 5.95 for now.(And buy 3 sandwiches, get 1 free for now. Not sure how long its going to last.) On to the food… The pork was pretty good. The flavor is right on. The sandwich itself is not soaked with sauce and not dry. Almost perfect. I won’t say prefect cuz I am still mad about the wait. The amount of meat is pretty decent too. The chicken is good too. I prefer the pork. The chicken has room for improvement. The plus: really close to work and good price. The minus: THEWAIT Definitely will come back for the sandwiches.
