Best lunch place in Fisherman’s Wharf. Reasonably priced Italian standards — you choose the pasta & the sauce & they prepare on the spot.

So excited that this great family owned restaurant is now much closer to home! We’re familiar with their restaurant Capisce in Lake Tahoe and eat there whenever we can, now we can have their amazing food more often! We grabbed an order of their famous Ravs with gravy and an order of lasagna to go and we’re scarfing it down as I’m writing this… Simply AMAZING!, generous portions, the ravs are tender pillows stuffed with sausage, the lasagna is totally homemade and scrumptious… OMG! The Gravy is the best! This adorable Reataurant is in a great location near a lot of other fast food choices, but there is no comparison… Why have McDonalds when you can have real homemade Italian? Service was quick and friendly and the restaurant is immaculately clean with patio seating out back. We will be back, the owners have a real winner here.

RAVS(is it all caps?) is not far from my office. This is right on the same strip as In-and-Out, Chipotle and King of Thai Noodles in Anchorage Square. If you walked by, you might think it’s a Sbarro. It used to be. Here’s the difference: It’s much better, and probably only a little more expensive than Sbarro. But, I assure you, it’s much better. The pasta is all cooked to order. I have been very satisfied with the attentiveness and professionalism of the staff. They have a good ethic in the works here. Oh, and the food is pretty tasty. I don’t know the whole back-story behind the business but there is a bit of a charm for a place that seems like it could just be on either edge of the coin between Sbarro-esque and a next level. One stand-out feature is the range of sauce and pasta matches. I’ll speak from experience that their meat ravioli and gravy were very good. It’s about $ 10, and it isn’t huge, but it does come with a beverage. They have some other sauces that look tasty. I also had a couple of slices of their Pepperoni Pizza, which were above average for a Wharf-like setting, which means not exorbitant and at least adequate. Overall, I was satisfied by the experience both visits. I normally write reviews after more visits. We’ll see if this spot can sustain it — but, for now, I think it’s great that this place is around.

I would definitely recommend Ravs to anyone visiting or local to Fishermans Wharf. The food is authentic, well priced, and quick. It is a family owned restaurant and their customer service shows it. Place is very clean and provides a modern theme to old family traditions.

Ravs happened to a surprise stop for me as I had already eaten but was taken by the sweet allure of the pizza smell that escaped the door as we passed by. Clean, modern, and well prepared, My Pepperoni slice served as a zesty dessert. A great value and speedy solution to a «What are we eating?!» Any time! Great staff and location. Check it out! My only quarrel was the front door that had to «remain open during business hours» which made it too cold to take our coats off. The reasoning was managements order to keep it open or else«People will think it’s closed» A simple«open» sign or placard will suffice but other than that, great place!

Tried it on a whim and well rewarded. Had the sausage ravioli. Came as a simple meal w focaccia and a soda. Really good sauce — mopped it up w the bread. Ravioli contents were sophisticated in flavor. Value is awesome for North Beach(half the price of many other options). This will be a new go-to for us in this part of town.

WOW!!! Having a gluten allergy can be a struggle. Ate at one restaurant on the wharf and told was gluten free only to become sick! Love pasta so read reviews on RAV and saw they had a GF pasta. They are family owned and opened 7 weeks ago at this location on the SF Wharf. So happy we went in as the staff was very friendly and answered all of our questions and concerns. This was truly the BEST pasta I have EVER had. I had the GF penne with pesto and it was out of this world. Hands down for sure. The only negative thing is I live in Montana so can’t have until I come to CA again. They have one in Tahoe as well. Thank you RAV and we wish you great success!

Might be because it was 15 mins before they were closing but the sausage ravioli was soggy and chewy, sausage inside really had no taste, red sauce was way too salty and tasted like it was from a can. The wife had the cheese ravioli and the ricotta cheese just fell out. Same soggy pasta and salty red sauce. The«homemade» tiramisu was just ok. Nothing to write home about.

My sister and I ate here yesterday while visiting the wharf, the food and the service was amazing! It’s a family owned and they made us feel very welcomed! We had the lasagna and the Ravs and they both were to die for! For the desert we had a Lisa’s bun, which is a warm cinnamon pastry topped with vanilla ice cream, it melts in your mouth! We will definitely be coming back, I would highly recommend eating here on your next visit!

5-star experience all around! Great food, awesome location and super warm and inviting service. Such a unique concept-homemade, fresh, Italian food all in under 5 minutes. Very glad that the area has such a great new addition! And let me say, the raviolis with gravy are unbelievable, definitely will be back again soon.

Went to Ravs for the first time yesterday to try the new spot in town. And wasn’t disappointed. The menu all sounded amazing with different types of sauces, pastas(including gluten free), salads and deserts. I had the lasagna and it was fantastic! The lasagna reminded me of my grandmas homemade lasagna from Italy! The owners were super nice and it’s a family owned business which is rare in a town full of chain restaurants. I highly recommend going to Ravs and I’ll will definitely be bringing co-workers and friends to the new spot in town!

Time: 7:37pm/66°F cloudy Purpose: Came by with classmate from back in the days. She happen to be passing by SF on her way to LA and wanted to meet somewhere near fisherman wharf area. Heart pumping, I was shy and nervous, but WTH! Perfect! I’ve a constant fear of many things, not new to me. Ambiance: Located on the main drag of fisherman wharf area. This RAVS replaces similar eatery of Sbarro’s I think. Interior mostly representing SF and surrounding bay area cities drawn or plaster on wall. Cushion stools facing Jefferson street for that touristy experience of people watch. High communal seater table with back against wall cushion bench seating inner back. Color scheme of mostly red/white among b/w family pictures. The front counter area is mostly place holder for pizza and ready to go pasta. A bin of ice chuck with bottle beverages along with standard business equipment and supplies. There is patio seating share with other eateries in the back commons. Restroom is enter by coded number entrance. Music playing the likes of Jason Mraz. Feels corporate, but its really a local family owned and operated. Staff: Older guy about late 50s and younger dude later learn, it was father/son duo here. Both friendly and welcoming explain what they’re about and how business come about. Young guy kept to himself, quiet while working oven miscellaneous odds and ends. Took time to walk over and introduce himself. Cleanliness: Grade A, immaculate remake from previous business with more grabbing theme of SF. It’s just too new to elaborate for now. Since all silverware are plastic, it should be clean, no washing involved. Eats/Drinks: Slice of pepperoni pizza $ 5 and order of ravioli $ 8.95 comes with fountain drink. Pizza was just average even though its made with homemade sauce. Pepperoni were processed run of the mill type. Good, but had better. Crust wasn’t crunchy as I wanted it to be. Center soggy draping downwards my chin. My friend didn’t like it, said bland tasting. Next we went ahead try handmade ravioli 5ps to a order, but the guy gave us even number of 6pcs, three pieces each at same cost. I had four and friend had two. Nice of him to throw extra piece in, but I rather have something more authentic and pricey. Pasta dough was consistent with food court type low grade flour base, but inside was tasty. So, point on for the filling just not for the doughy bland pasta envelope. The sauce ladle on tasted homemade family recipe no artificial flavoring. Didn’t wow both of us, but we end up somewhere else later that night. Main Features: Handmade ravioli on site. Products/Services: Pasta, pizza by slice/whole, BYO pizza, salad, ravioli, sauces, lasagna, tiramisu, sticky buns, bottle water/juices, fountain drinks, chicken parmesana, garlic/mozza bread. Takes plastic. Punch Lines: Family run, laid back, nothing out of the ordinary, modest price, patio seating, handmade ravioli, décor leaves something to desired, easy night out, zippy service, friendly, touristy area, parking(hard). Tradeoffs: Not much of a difference between food court eateries and RAVS. Just the handmade ravioli and family recipe differentiate itself. Final Thoughts: Come if you’re in the immediate area wanting something other than crab sandwich, clam chowder. Just don’t have a mindset of having family oriented style dining. There’s no gourmet dishes just simple Italian fast food. Consider it a stop to tie over your hunger pangs.

Food is nothing special. But customer service is terrible. The cashier was rude. Asked to use the bathroom but it was«out of order» and he suggested two other bathrooms in the facility. I’m sure working there he knew that those bathrooms needed a code. And he sent me to them anyways. Jerk.

So excited that in an area full of chain restaurants, there is family owned new place. Just tried the sausage ravioli and pizza. The raviolis are big, and you get to choose from a selection of sauces. I had the alfredo which was excellent and I can’t wait to try the other sauces as well. Pizza was great too. This place just recently opened and my coworkers have been going there and love it as well.

What an amazing addition to the area! I work nearby, and have tried all of the normal lunch options in the area. Most are chains, overpriced, or just plain dirty. Going out to get something for lunch often ends up just being a disappointment. I had been watching the construction on Ravs and had some hope, but wasn’t sure– this is the Wharf after all. Imagine my surprise when I got a chance to try them for lunch today. A spotless restaurant, a friendly greeting, and **handmade ravioli** that was cooked to order??? People that actually care about my food?! 3 stars just for already being so much better than other area options. I chatted with the employees, and they make all of their food fresh to order. I tried the Original Sausage ravioli with the pesto sauce($ 9.85). My order was ready in about 3 minutes and came to me piping hot. The ravioli were huge and really meaty– great value. The ravioli also came with some delicious focaccia bread. The extra pesto sauce on the bread was mm mm tasty. I am really looking forward to trying the other sauce options, they have a ton to choose from. Also tried the tiramisu($ 5) for dessert, and this is where lunch went to a six star experience. The portion is huge, and the flavor is outstanding. Rich, yet light, and clearly freshly prepared. This is a must try desert! I would certainly suggest Ravs and will be back for lunch in the future!

Stopped at Ravs right after we got into town. They’d only been open 3 days. Good stuff! The sausage ravioli with Alfredo was so good! Wanted to lick my plate clean. Staff was super friendly. We’ll eat here again! I want to try the pizza next.
