Tried a variety of plates, all were so good we could not decide which was best. Coffee drinks were great. Highly recommended.

I used to come to piccolo Petes as a kid getting lunch for school… back then the people making your sandwich would make them with love… now they make them fast and done care too much… the sizes of the sandwich are small… way more bread than anything else… the bread wasnt covered from the fruit flys like it used to be… the meat look dry and the produce were cross contaminated… the lettece had onions in it… im allergic to onions… when i ask the guy making my sandwich to get lettece from the other end he acted as if he didnt understand me… he finally got the lettece and came back i wanted tomatoes but they had onions in them too… i wish that it could go back to how it was when i was a kid because sad to say after this experience ill be going to san bruno and silver to white palace from now on!!!

Wow, pretty nasty spot. I’m a fan of hole in the wall places but the food has to be good. Got the turkey, salame, ham sandwich on dutch crunch. When i asked for the softest bread they have the lady said the Dutch crunch. I asked if the dutch is softer than the soft roll and she said yes. Weird, but whatever. This was the most basic sandwich that I’ve had in a long time. And no gloves even though its the law now. Not getting anything from this dirty ass shop

The sandwiches here are great, but keep in mind that it’s in a very tough part of town. It was the best spot to go to before niner games

The sandwiches are always wonderful, but I go for their soup which they make daily. I usually stop by on Saturdays and if there’s not a game on, they are having a jam session. Sometimes the game is on and they’re playing their music. It’s a fun place.

If/when I’m in the city, I’ll go out of my way to get a sandwich here. The best is a Godfather on sourdough!

Best place to get a cheap sandwich to go. Meat is fresh. Friendly people that makes your sandwich. Dutch crunch is always the best beard to make a sandwich. Cash only. No tax on your sandwich which is a great thing. Owner is very nice. Very legit about his usual customers.

Food is decent. Price is pretty cheap for an all American shop/restaurant. No credit card though. Minus half. Location is middle of no where minus half. Meat is icy cold minus another half. Gumbo is good but all the other soup kinda taste the same another half minus. I think I was happy to say unless I want some sandwich nearby I would not visit this place.

Fast, cheap, and efficient! The sandwiches are delish, my personal fav is the Polish Sandwich. The hot and ready to go food is delish. They have like a billion fridges full of various drinks. There are like 4 people behind the counter making food for you. I had to take away one star for the garlic bread though, it’s not good at all.

Sounds like prices have gone up some since I was last there as used to go solely on specials. Really good sandwiches in the area and pretty cheap hot selection items as it’s full of comfort foods! Lots of good impulsive buys in here as well.

I don’t see Macaroni & Cheese anymore, but I do see Mashed Potatoes, Barbecue Polish Sausage over Rice and Spaghetti available. The services here are still very good and the staff here are nice and friendly. I definitely enjoyed that small box of spaghetti and I’ll coming back the next time I am in the area. I’m craving for a sandwich and a box of spaghetti as I write this review update. 5÷12÷2014: BBQ Polish Sausage over Rice — absolutely delicious. I’ll definitely be back when I want to get a sandwich. Staff members: friendly Service: prompt The facility is clean and spacious

Some days I sit at work too long, thinking I’ll get off early and grab something. You go a little past hungry and I start thinking… I could just murder a sandwich right now and that’s exactly what we went for. My dad and I stopped off at Piccolo Pete’s for our late lunch, ordered one large sandwich to split — Turkey and Pastrami with everything, especially jalapenos on a dutch crunch roll. My dad noted that they get their bread from Royal Bakery and it was super fresh. I couldn’t help but order one of their Deviled Eggs, they are twice the size of the average and looked so good. I noticed everything was«Homaid» per the little laminated signs which made me laugh. The place is like a old school deli, forget about the café style — you grab and go. They have a huge buffet of hot and cold foods, soup bar and huge assortment of beverages. They also have a large liquor selection, if you are looking for some pre-game beverages and food before heading to Candlestick. GONINERS!

The best sandwiches for their price. Actually, other than Ike’s Place, the best sandwiches. Period. Recommend: — Pastrami on Dutch Crunch — Roast Beef on Dutch — Combination The owner(the white guy) is the coolest guy. He’s like a football coach. Just really chill and friendly. I live right up the street so whenever i’m hungry and there’s nothing to eat at home, here is where I go.

I’ve lived my entire life living about 2 blocks away from this place. I’m not gonna lie, but the place scared me, as does my entire neighborhood. So it wasn’t until I started college that I started to come here quite frequently. When I exit the freeway, piccolo pete is on the way home that it’s just hard not to make a stop and pick up one of their glorious sandwiches. Sure the place still creeps me out, I mean, I swear I never find any other women in here other than maybe their 2 female workers, other than that there’s always construction workers and other men in here. But anyways the staff is pretty friendly. Whenever I come here I always get the same thing, a roast beef on dutch crunch bread, with everything on it but pickles and mustard. So delish. The sandwiches are pretty freakin’ huge too, I could only finish half in one sitting. I’ve also had their clam chowder which is pretty good too. I’ve tried their swedish meatballs over rice and that was just ehhh. So for sure if you ever come here go for the sandwiches.

So I’m looking for something in SSF/Brisbane for lunch near work and my boss takes me here. My order — Warm pastrami sandwich(sauerkraut, mustard, and pickles on rye bread) $ 4.75. Not bad. My boss’s order — Spaghetti and meatballs. $ 3.75 The customer in front of me’s order — A pack of cigarettes, chocolate milk, and an Olde English 40. I’m coming back on Thursday.

I still visit Pete’s from time to time. These days it is usually when I’m on my way to the Bayshore CalTrain station heading down to San Jose to catch a Sharks hockey game. Many years ago I frequented Pete’s quite a bit. Back then the Giants played at Candlestick and Piccolo Pete’s was THE place to pick up a humongous sandwich prior to the game. I still go to the ‘Stick to see the Niners play, but unfortunately Pete’s hasn’t opened on Sundays for a long time now. Pete’s makes very good sandwiches on your choice of sliced bread or Dutch crunch rolls. The sandwich makers are usually quite generous on the meats and cheeses. Be sure to pick up lots of napkins because the final product is usually dripping and squirting with some good stuff. Pete’s has hot soups also, at least 6 different varieties on any given day that you can scoop up yourself in the size of your choice. Pete’s also has hot foods like their delicious spaghetti with meatballs for $ 3.50 or the meatballs over rice for $ 3.00. They have refrigerated unit after refrigerated unit of all of your favorite beers and sodas too.
